Pondering

Night enveloped the Greenfield Estates, the entire complex steeped in tranquil silence and a subtle, haunting chill.

Andrew Han crouched on the window ledge, head bowed, his face devoid of sorrow or joy—cold, impassive, and utterly emotionless. His indifferent gaze fixed on the green-black specter lurking outside.

Within his Inspiration, the entity before him radiated a piercing, bone-chilling cold.

It was unmistakably a Specter, and it had already begun to manifest a primitive intelligence.

Sss...

The ghostly shadow paused, then released a low, guttural sss. Its green-black eyes gleamed with mockery and a twisted smile, never leaving Andrew’s face.

Humans—nothing but food for the taking.

Andrew showed no reaction whatsoever.

Using Inspiration, he estimated this Specter’s strength was about the same as the one he’d faced in Sunfield Township.

So weak—yet it dares to sneer at me?

It must be sick of living.

If he weren’t worried that releasing condensed force might damage the building or wake the sleeping residents of Greenfield Estates, he would have already struck.

"Can you understand human language?"

"Then, can you speak?" Andrew stared at the specter, curiosity flickering in his eyes as he studied its bizarre form.

The very next moment—

Sss!

The green-black Specter lunged at Andrew, emitting a chilling sss.

Andrew’s head snapped up, a cold gleam flickering in his eyes. His left palm flipped upward, surging like a colossal seal, packed with First Rank condensed force—a strike that could topple a brick wall.

The green-black Specter barely managed a sss before its ghostly body shuddered under Andrew’s palm, sent flying and dissipating, its form fading like mist.
