Combing Memories

The clanging of chains echoed through the air. More than a dozen fierce ghosts had already perished, and many others were shackled, ready to be escorted straight to the underworld. The three subdued Green Wraiths wore expressions of utter despair.

Black and White Impermanence continued their interrogation, pressing for the identity of the leader. They seemed to realize that, given the strength of these three Green Wraiths, they would never dare to act so recklessly or commit such a violation of the heavenly order.

"Speak. Who is it?"

Black Impermanence, temper flaring, grabbed one of the Green Wraiths and demanded an answer. Just then, a streak of green light shot across the sky.

A jingle rang out as the Twin Reapers raised their Mourning Staves and struck at the green light. With a thunderous crash, a violent gust erupted outward, leaving every ghost present stunned.

The sheer intensity of the ghostly energy shocked everyone. Even the Twin Reapers were visibly shaken, especially Tony Tang's followers, who had only gathered around him after he left the Blood Fiend Hall. They watched in disbelief as the brothers were forced back, their Mourning Staves cracked and their bells broken.

"So, it’s you, Tony Tang."

Mr. Black recognized Tony Tang immediately. Tony now gripped a long spear, his gaze cold and fixed on the Twin Reapers.

"Such a trivial matter, and yet both you brothers came personally. Heh."

Several underworld soldiers and generals, treating Tony Tang as a formidable enemy, began to encircle him slowly. He remained silent, his eyes icy and filled with murderous intent.

"If you want to start another war, I don't mind."

As Tony Tang spoke, the ghostly energy around him continued to intensify. Many of the spirits present could no longer bear it and began to moan in pain.

"It's not like it was centuries ago, Tony Tang. The Blood Fiend Hall has long since fallen, and you are all criminals now."

As they spoke, Black and White Impermanence attacked. In an instant, Tony Tang was beset by both of them, and a fierce battle was about to erupt. Despite their assault, Tony Tang did not falter—in fact, he gained the upper hand, fighting more fiercely with each exchange, while Black and White Impermanence began to fall back.

With a thunderous crash, the swirling ghostly energy caused the weather to change; green snowflakes began to fall from the sky. Black and White Impermanence were already injured, and though Tony Tang had suffered some harm, he appeared largely unscathed.

"If we keep fighting, you two will die here. Or do you really want to see my Ghost Domain unleashed?"

Tony Tang's cold, merciless threat seemed to work. Black and White Impermanence glared at him, furious.

"So how do you want to settle this? You saved all those people in that cart, they..."

"So what if I saved them? We did the same centuries ago, and look at us now."

The standoff continued. Black and White Impermanence had no intention of leaving, so Tony Tang finally decided to give them a way out.
