"You asked me to wait for him here. He won't blame you for it."
"I'm sorry, please leave!" Rosalind insisted firmly.
Grace had no choice but to leave, planning to wait outside the Crown Prince's palace.
When she summoned Redcrest, it let out a cry.
Evan Xiao heard the sound and immediately appeared in front of Grace.
He had just finished his bath, his hair still wet and dripping.
"Didn't I tell you not to get close to it? Why are you still riding it?" Evan Xiao glanced at the Red-crested Golden Eagle.
It quickly flew up to the roof and curled into a ball.
Why did His Highness suddenly feel so scary? Is it because it's about to transform and has become especially sensitive?
"If I didn't ride it, how could I have gotten here?" Grace asked.
"Did you come to see me for something?"
"Of course!" Grace said. "I came to tell you something."
"What is it?"
Grace glanced at Rosalind standing nearby.
Evan Xiao waved his hand, dismissing her. "Go ahead, speak!"
Grace pouted. "How many beautiful maids do you have serving you in this palace?"
Evan Xiao raised an eyebrow. "What, you don't like it?"
"No, I don't!"
Evan Xiao: "You came all this way just to ask me that?"
"No," Grace said. "Let's go inside and talk."
Evan Xiao led her inside.
Once they were seated, he pointed to a neatly folded towel.
"What for?" Grace asked, puzzled.
"Can't you see my hair is dripping?"
"Can't you just dry yourself instantly?" Grace asked. "Even if you're soaked, you could just shake it off and be dry!"
"Wipe."
Grace walked over, picked up the towel, and began drying his hair.
As she was drying his hair, he suddenly pulled her into his arms, his breathing a little uneven.
Grace looked down at him, her cheeks flushed.
He laid her down in his arms and finally did what he'd been wanting to do for days: kissed her sweet lips.
Her soft little lips seemed to have a magic of their own, making him crave their taste.
Now that she’d delivered herself to him, Evan Xiao couldn’t hold back anymore.
Grace felt like he was going to devour her. She struggled free from his embrace, her collar loosened.
Evan Xiao looked at her like a wolf holding back, taking a deep, unsatisfied breath.
Grace straightened her clothes, sat a good distance away, and said, "Do you remember what I told you about Ray in my last life?"
Evan Xiao's cool voice carried a hint of desire. "Yeah."
"I know why Ray was human in his last life, but a dragon in this one!"
"Why?"
"The fruit of the Tree of Destiny." Grace took out the flat, black fruit. "Have you ever heard of this?"
Evan Xiao nodded. "Round means father, flat means mother."
"In my last life, when I was pregnant with Ray, there was one time when I suddenly had a stomachache for no reason. Then I happened to run into Sophie Shang, who was the Left General back then. She gave me a pill, and the pain disappeared. That pill tasted exactly like this black Destiny Fruit!"
Evan Xiao frowned.
"And I believe you must have been searching for me at the time," Grace said. "Because I even saw Dragon's Breath Herb! It was right at Sophie Shang's place! Suddenly, I think maybe you sent people to look for me, but she found me first and never told you."
Evan Xiao said nothing.
It was very likely.
"Later, she fabricated evidence to frame me and Tuoba Hong, and eventually got me killed!" Grace continued. "Now I finally know how I died in my last life!"
Evan Xiao pondered for a moment, then ordered outside, "Summon Sophie Shang, the High Deity."
"Yes, sir!" someone replied from outside.
After a while, Sophie Shang arrived.
