Selena Sees Through His Disguise

1/19/2026

This sword strike landed on Evan Chu without any special reaction. His defense was so powerful that no one at the Saint Martial Realm could possibly break through it. Even if he just stood on the arena and let them attack, it wouldn’t matter.

When the youth swung his sword at Evan Chu, it was like hacking at an iron wall—his defense was simply unbreakable. The massive rebound sent the attacker flying dozens of meters, his longsword clattering to the stage.

Nobody saw this coming: Evan Chu took the blow head-on and sent his opponent flying instead. Just how monstrous was his defense? Even the legendary Frostbane Sect Master would struggle to match this, but this youth had done it right here on the stage.

For a moment, everyone watching the match was stunned. It was hard to accept, but Evan Chu didn’t care about any of it.

Truthfully, he hadn’t really wanted to get on stage—his strength was already overwhelming. Even if he let them attack him, there was no way they could kill him. The real reason he did this was to help his two children realize their own shortcomings.

He didn’t want them thinking their current realm made them invincible—there’s always someone stronger out there. Suffering a setback now would help their future cultivation. Besides, he wanted to surprise his women, so he did this even though, by rights, he wasn’t qualified to compete.

That youth’s strike didn’t hurt Evan Chu at all—instead, he ended up shaking himself so badly that his blood surged. Landing on the arena, his whole arm trembled, and a deep gash split his palm, with bright red blood pouring out.

Evan Chu shot him a cold look. “You call yourself a fighter? I haven’t even lifted a finger and you’re already half-crippled. Pathetic! If you’ve got any guts left, come at me again.”

His words instantly ignited the fury of everyone on the stage—including Ethan Chu and Lynn Chu. They’d never met anyone so arrogant before, and now they felt genuine killing intent toward Evan Chu. This was Frostbane Sect’s arena—how could they let an outsider show off here?

The youth who’d been sent flying wasn’t willing to accept it—this was humiliating! But he’d felt just how terrifying Evan Chu’s defense was. If Evan actually used martial arts, he might really get killed.

Sean Xiao glanced at Evan Chu and said, “Your defense is impressive, but if you think you can win first place with defense alone, you’re dreaming. Show us your real strength, or you’ll never take the championship.”

Evan Chu smiled and said, “If I use martial arts, I’m afraid I’ll end up killing them all. Honestly, their strength is way too weak. I’d rather they all come at me together—otherwise, what’s the point? Today I’ll show everyone what real martial skills look like.”

Such arrogant words made everyone uncomfortable—he was completely ignoring the ten outstanding disciples on stage. Even Lynn Chu wouldn’t dare boast like this, but this unknown youth had said it, leaving them all feeling humiliated, especially since this was Frostbane Sect. It was a total slap in the face.

“You said it! Today you’ll see how powerful Frostbane Sect really is!” Ethan Chu finally couldn’t stand it and shouted, hating such arrogance.

“Show me everything you’ve got—you only get one chance. Don’t worry, I won’t kill you. I just want you to know there’s always someone stronger, so you don’t get arrogant. Call it a lesson.” Evan Chu laughed.

Ethan Chu couldn’t take it anymore and shouted, “Let’s see how you handle my Demon-Breaking Fist!” He instantly unleashed the seventh form of Demon-Breaking Fist. Its power was no joke—almost as strong as when Evan Chu used it years ago, and his mastery was perfect.

“Your Demon-Breaking Fist is passable—you’ve got the essence down. But your cultivation is too weak, so you’re nowhere near unleashing its full power.” Evan Chu said bluntly.

As Ethan Chu attacked, Evan Chu casually reached out and caught his fist. The punch landed squarely on him but had zero effect, while Ethan Chu found himself completely immobilized.

Evan Chu grabbed his wrist. The crowd was stunned all over again—including the Zhou brothers in the stands, who were so shocked by Evan Chu’s strength they could barely speak.

Seeing Ethan Chu instantly controlled, Lynn Chu swung her longsword and unleashed a sword-flower attack at Evan Chu. This move was none other than the Chasing Wind Sword Art Evan Chu had once mastered.

This was the final move—whether in power or mastery, it matched how Evan Chu had used it years ago. Evan felt genuinely gratified by this.

But even with such force, she still couldn’t hurt him. He didn’t even need to use Earthshift to defend—his other hand easily caught the incoming sword, leaving Lynn Chu unable to move unless she abandoned her blade.

Ethan Chu and Lynn Chu’s faces tensed with worry—they couldn’t break free from Evan Chu’s grip, and panic crept in. The others, seeing the siblings controlled by this mysterious youth, all attacked Evan Chu at once.

But every single one was sent flying and badly injured—no one had expected this outcome. Even Sean Xiao nearby was shocked; he wasn’t sure he could handle a combined assault from all ten of them.

Selena watched as Evan Chu controlled Lynn Chu and Ethan Chu, but she didn’t panic. Instead, she seemed to notice something—the youth’s appearance was different from Evan Chu’s, but his eyes were unmistakable.

Especially after Evan Chu pinned the siblings, the care in his eyes was unmistakable. Suddenly, it all clicked—Lynn Chu was Ninth-Layer Saint Martial Realm, yet she couldn’t even brush his sleeve. That was unheard of.

She couldn’t see through the youth’s cultivation, but his silhouette was uncannily like Evan Chu’s. All the signs pointed to one truth—this wasn’t just anybody, but her old nemesis Evan Chu, staging a dramatic reveal just to shock everyone.

Only someone as strong as him could ignore attacks from Saint Martial Realm experts. Even Sean Xiao, a Seventh-Layer Venerable Martial, would have to defend himself. Once she realized this, Selena suddenly flew onto the arena.

Sean Xiao didn’t understand why Selena did this and asked, “Sister-in-law, the match is still going on. Even if you’re worried about the kids, you don’t have to be so protective.”

Selena ignored Sean Xiao and stared at Evan Chu. “If you don’t drop the disguise right now, I’ll never speak to you again. You’re finally back—why bother with all this? Don’t you know we’ve missed you so much it hurts?”

Evan Chu was instantly thrown off. He hadn’t expected Selena to see right through his act. Caught flat-footed, he could only let go of Ethan Chu and Lynn Chu. “Xuan’er, I...”
