Crash to the Ground

"He was drunk. Why did you take him to Lawrence Garden?" Prime Minister Edward Lawrence asked darkly.

"Second Brother told me... Princess Olivia came, and Lady Blue Moon wouldn’t let Aunt Wan show up, so she had to stay in the long-abandoned Lawrence Garden. He was worried, so he asked me to help him go see Aunt Wan," Jason Zhuo explained. "But the person in Lawrence Garden wasn’t Aunt Wan—it was Miss Wan. I have no idea what happened there."

"He’s lying!" Grace Wan shouted. "I was the one who arranged for the ladies to rest in Lawrence Garden. There was no Aunt Wan!

Aunt Wan has always stayed in her own courtyard! Even if I didn’t let her come out, she’d be in her own room. Why would I send her to Lawrence Garden?

"Yeah! When did I ever say anything like that? I don’t even know how I ended up in Lawrence Garden!" Kevin Zhuo added.

"Dowager Lady Evelyn Zhu, Prime Minister, it must be Grace and Jason Zhuo working together to harm our Kevin!" Grace Wan sobbed, feeling utterly wronged. "One drugged him, the other sent him to Bella Wan! They did it on purpose to embarrass him, ruin his reputation, and keep him from a good marriage!"

Jason Zhuo looked at Grace Wan and her son, his face dark. "Lady Blue Moon, Second Brother really did say that at the time."

"Stop trying to deny it! You heartless villain! The Lawrence family treated you well, and this is how you repay us! What are you scheming?" Grace Wan crawled over, grabbed the Prime Minister’s robe, and cried, "Prime Minister, Kevin Zhuo is your only son, you must stand up for him! If this goes on, who knows, they might even kill him!"

Prime Minister Edward Lawrence frowned.

Dowager Lady Evelyn Zhu remained silent.

"Father, Jason Zhuo is morally corrupt! You worked so hard to get him a position as Spirit Cavalry Commander, and he actually stole military supplies to sell! Now he’s doing this, obviously trying to ruin me so he can be the Lawrence family heir!" Kevin Zhuo added, fanning the flames.

"Father, I didn’t do it," Jason Zhuo defended himself.

"Still denying it! Listen up, Jason Zhuo, even if I, Kevin Zhuo, don’t marry a noble lady, that doesn’t mean you get to be the Lawrence family heir! You’re nothing but a dog we raised in the Lawrence family! Go take a good look at yourself in the mirror!"

Jason Zhuo clenched his fists, veins bulging on his forehead.

Just then, Grace and Maya Summers returned after seeing Princess Olivia off.

As soon as Kevin Zhuo saw Grace, his anger erupted. He shouted, "Grace!" and stormed over, murder in his eyes, trying to grab her.

He was so furious he’d lost all sense.

He’d completely forgotten Grace wasn’t the useless Grace anymore.

She was now a genius, Grace.

There was a two-level gap in cultivation between him and Grace.

As he reached out, he hadn’t even touched Grace when an invisible pressure slammed into him. He was forced to stumble back, stepped on a stone, and—"Bang!"—fell hard to the ground, unable to get up for a long moment.

"What are you doing?" Grace asked coolly. "Why are you acting crazy for no reason again?"

"Grace!" Kevin Zhuo’s face was flushed red. "You heartless whore! Why did you drug my wine and try to hurt me?"

Grace’s eyes darkened, and she slapped him hard across the face.

Kevin Zhuo’s head buzzed from her slap, and he couldn’t speak for a long time.

"In the kingdom, I was once the Crown Princess for a few days. In the Lawrence family, I’m the legitimate eldest daughter. You’re just a concubine’s son, barging in and hitting and yelling—who gave you the right and the guts?"
