Sect Master of Puregate Sect

After a month, Joe Di was nearly in despair. In this damned place, running around like a headless fly, he feared he might eventually collapse from exhaustion.

At this moment, Joe Di was certain that Ian Shaw had never been here. If he had, he wouldn't have said this place was dangerous—he would have said that once you enter, there's no way out.

Joe Di tried to set up a random teleportation array, but it only sent him a hundred zhang away—barely any different from using Divine Sense Escape.

If Joe Di were alone, being trapped here wouldn't matter. But now he had Starhaven City to worry about. Although he'd entrusted the control flags for the city's formation arrays to Qu Tong and Ian Shaw, it wouldn't be right if he stayed away for too long.

It wasn't just a matter of someone seizing Starhaven City. In the Twilight Immortal Domain, the Celestial Bamboo River was the only place suitable for establishing Starhaven City. If the city was taken, the Immortal Realm might once again fall into twilight, eventually shattering completely.

He was only at the fourth level of the True Immortal Stage; if the Immortal Realm was gone, where could he cultivate? Establishing Starhaven City wasn't just about saving the Immortal Realm—it was also for himself, and for those he cared about.

Joe Di glanced at the Celestial Nightfire on his wrist. It was because of this flame's nirvana that he had ended up in this damned place.

What astonished Joe Di was that his Cosmic Flame seemed to be slightly leaning in a certain direction.

No information at all? Could there be something in that direction? Without hesitation, Joe Di hoisted Mo Yu Xuan onto his back and charged toward where the flame pointed.

Another month passed, and the Cosmic Flame still pointed in the direction he was moving, but Joe Di found nothing at all.

His Cosmic Flame was still too low in rank and couldn't provide him with precise information. The only thing Joe Di could do was keep moving in the direction it pointed. After several more days, he sensed a surge of scorching heat approaching.

Could it really be the Celestial Fire Spirit? Joe Di's heart leapt, and he sped up. Ever since he noticed the flame's directional shift, he'd vaguely guessed that it might be sensing the Celestial Fire Spirit.

Now that he'd detected the scorching aura, what else could it be but the Celestial Fire Spirit? Yet after only half a stick of incense, Joe Di came to a halt.

Blocking his path was a mass of gray that nearly filled the way ahead, radiating a terrifying heat. It seemed that even getting close would burn him to nothingness.

It was a flame. Joe Di was no novice cultivator—he recognized it at a glance: Void Ashflame.

Void Ashflame ranked fourteenth among celestial fires; it was definitely a treasure. Moreover, this one was at least a fourth-grade immortal flame.

So it was Void Ashflame that had drawn his Cosmic Flame. Joe Di felt a bit disappointed.

Fortunately, Joe Di quickly accepted it. Even if it wasn't the Celestial Fire Spirit, this was still the only gain he'd had since entering Skyveil Pit.

After all these days in Skyveil Pit, aside from seeing countless pits and hollows, the only thing he'd found was this Void Ashflame.

Having found a flame, naturally, he had to refine it.

Joe Di possessed second-level immortal sense, but his divine sense was exceptionally condensed. Having used fifth-grade immortal flames before, he had a fair understanding of them. Although Void Ashflame was formidable, it wasn't beyond his capabilities.

It took him only a month and a half to fully refine the Void Ashflame. Once refined, it shrank to a thumb-sized flame, pulsing in Joe Di's palm.

His guess had been correct: it was indeed a fourth-grade immortal flame.

After months of running around in Skyveil Pit, he finally had something to show for it.

With a flick of his hand, Joe Di sent the refined Void Ashflame into his Stellar Nexus.

What puzzled Joe Di was that even after refining the Void Ashflame, his Cosmic Flame still pointed ahead. Was it not aiming for the Void Ashflame after all?

Joe Di grew excited again. He'd followed the Cosmic Flame's guidance to the Void Ashflame; now, whether it led to the Celestial Fire Spirit or not, he would keep following its direction.

In the Immortal Realm, the ability to sense fate wasn't unique to the Fatespire Sect; there was also a sect called the Puregate Sect. These two were once the most famous 'Heaven'-rank sects in the realm.

The difference was, Puregate Sect had always been reclusive, while Fatespire Sect was the opposite—high-profile and renowned throughout the Immortal Realm, respected by all.

It wasn't until Fatespire Sect produced a powerful Immortal Emperor, Magnus Fate, that things changed. The first thing Magnus Fate did upon taking charge was to rename Fatespire Sect after himself.

At the edge of the Skywall in the Sanctuary Domain, a Daoist nun with strands of gray in her hair stood gazing toward the direction of the Twilight Domain.

Her name was Loraine Puregate, a second-generation disciple and the current Sect Master of Puregate Sect.

"Perhaps bringing some of the Puregate Sect disciples to the Sanctuary Domain was a mistake. This place is not truly a sanctuary." After a long silence, Loraine Puregate murmured to herself.

After Puregate Sect arrived in the Sanctuary Domain, many disciples died; now, few remain alive.

Boom! A thunderous roar echoed from the edge of the Skywall. Loraine Puregate swept the area with her divine sense, and her face instantly turned pale.

The Skywall had been breached. Dozens of cultivators rushed out and entered the Twilight Domain.

Loraine Puregate saw clearly that all these cultivators were disciples of Fatespire Sect. It was obvious that Magnus Fate, the sect master, had sensed the flow of fate in the Immortal Realm and was using his power for personal gain, sending his disciples to secretly investigate the situation in the Twilight Domain.

The killings in the Sanctuary Domain had already been on the rise. Now, with the Skywall array opened, the murderous aura from the Twilight Domain surged in, accelerating both the slaughter and the loss of spiritual fortune in the Sanctuary Domain.

Sure enough, after those Fatespire Sect disciples left the Sanctuary Domain, Loraine Puregate felt the killing aura intensify and a faint malice spread. At the same time, the spiritual fortune of the Sanctuary Domain began to dissipate even faster.
