Chased to the Door

Evan Yang had to break into the fourth floor and obtain the Body-Entry Art today, or his physical body would be in grave danger.

So Evan rushed up to the second floor, then straight to the third, and after preparing himself at the fourth floor, began his assault on the barrier.

Downstairs, the old gatekeeper muttered, "Strange, why is he in such a hurry today?"

Normally, Evan would greet him, but today he was in such a rush he didn't even notice the old man watching him head upstairs.

This Great Operation was giving Soul-Heaven Palace a huge boost—after all, large-scale actions were rare, and right now it was a symbol of the palace's absolute control.

Meanwhile, at Right Heaven Palace, a group of people had returned. A purple-haired man with thick brows sat in his private chamber.

People stood on either side, listening as the purple-haired man lectured them.

"Did you gain anything today?" the man asked.

"We only managed to cover about half today. The other half will probably have to wait for the next few days," someone replied.

"Oh? Why?" The purple-haired man asked curiously.

The Right Palace Lord was furious—someone had managed to sneak in while he was away, and with no one else around.

"You stay here and keep watch. I'll go check something." The Right Palace Lord said angrily, then left, muttering to himself, "They didn't take anyone else, only that child. She must be involved."

The Right Palace Lord went to another room—the same place Evan Yang had visited earlier today.

When the woman saw the Right Palace Lord, she greeted him, "Palace Lord."

"Tell me, did someone take him away?" the Right Palace Lord asked.

The woman looked confused. "Who took him away?"

The Right Palace Lord tried to catch her off guard, but she had no idea, so she had to pretend—otherwise, she'd be exposed.

"Has no one come looking for you?" the Palace Lord asked.

The woman shook her head. "No."

"Are you sure?" the Palace Lord pressed. The woman nodded firmly.

The Palace Lord got up and, before leaving, said, "If I find out, you'll be in trouble." He left the woman there, who sighed quietly, "I hope he hasn't discovered anything."

The Right Palace Lord wasn't stupid. He soon found the two people who accompanied the woman outside today and asked, "Did you see her interact with anyone suspicious?"

"No. She just walked outside for a bit, and after we brought her back in, we followed the Palace Lord to handle some business," one of them said.

The other hesitated, "When we entered Right Heaven Palace today, we ran into someone who said he knew her, but she claimed not to know him, so we ignored it."

"What kind of person?" In Soul-Heaven Palace, someone knowing her immediately made the Palace Lord suspicious.

"Someone from the Elite Palace. We don't know exactly who, but his clothes marked him as Elite Palace," the man replied.

"Come on, you two, go with me to the Elite Palace," the Palace Lord said.

The two looked at each other and followed the Palace Lord to the Elite Palace.

Evan Yang had no idea that talking to the woman today had given himself away. At this moment, he was struggling between the third and fourth floors.

The Right Palace Lord arrived at the Elite Hall and found the person in charge. "I'm looking for someone," he said.

Right Palace Lord, who are you looking for? The person in charge was shocked to see the Palace Lord of Right Heaven Palace arrive.

"Speak," the Right Palace Lord said to the two others. They described Evan Yang's appearance, and the person in charge frowned, "He's one of the Ten-One numbered members."

"Ten-One? Where is he? Tell him to come out, I have something to discuss with him," the Right Palace Lord said.

"I'll go check," the person in charge said. He hurried to Evan Yang's room, called out several times with no response, and returned to the Right Palace Lord, saying helplessly, "I don't know where he is right now."

"You dare say you don't know? I must find him!" The Right Palace Lord was visibly angry.

"He really isn't here," the person in charge said helplessly.

"Where is his room?" the Right Palace Lord asked. The person in charge brought them to Evan Yang's door, which cracked open with just a light touch from the Palace Lord.

His strength was terrifying, frightening everyone around. Those who knew the Right Palace Lord secretly wondered if Evan Yang had offended him, prompting such a display.

When the Right Palace Lord saw the empty room, he frowned and shouted, "Who knows where the person from this room went?"

His words were commanding, so everyone in the Elite Palace heard him. The person in charge said awkwardly, "Right Palace Lord, some people are cultivating. You're being too loud."

"Is that your concern?" the Palace Lord snorted. Those who were about to come out and complain saw who it was and retreated back inside.

The person in charge could only stand awkwardly behind the Palace Lord, who stared at everyone. Seeing no one speak, he said again, "Who knows? There's a reward."

His words were commanding, so everyone in the Elite Palace heard him. The person in charge said awkwardly, "Right Palace Lord, some people are cultivating. You're being too loud."

Upon hearing this, someone stepped forward. "I know."

This person was from the same group as Evan Yang—the one who had chased after Bella. He had just seen Evan Yang go to the library and didn't have a good impression of him.

Seeing someone knew, the Right Palace Lord asked, "Where did he go?"

"You don't even know the Right Palace Lord?" the man sneered.

"To the library," the person said.

The Right Palace Lord, furious, left with his two subordinates. The person in charge told everyone, "Stop staring, get back to work," and hurried to the library as well.

When he arrived at the library, the Right Palace Lord stormed inside, saw no one on the first floor, and tried to go to the second floor. An old man stopped him: "No fighting allowed here. Take it outside."

"I have to join the unified action today. I don't have time to chat. I'm leaving," Evan Yang said, knowing that the longer he stalled, the worse it would be for him.

The Right Palace Lord, still furious, was about to shout back—then he turned and saw it was an old man. Recognizing him, he exclaimed, "Senior!"

"Go outside. Stop making noise," the old man said.

The Right Palace Lord lost all his temper. His furious expression turned awkward, and he had to leave.

"Trying to leave? Not a chance!" the man snorted, moving to block Evan Yang.

Relieved that someone had stepped in, the person in charge went back. The Right Palace Lord told his two subordinates, "You two stay here. If that kid comes out, capture him immediately or report to me."

"Yes," the two nodded.

After giving the order, the Right Palace Lord left in a foul mood.

Evan Yang showed no fear. The opponent manipulated water jets to attack him, trying to stop him. Evan waved his hand, and flames instantly evaporated the water, turning it into Water True Qi.

The old man watched the Right Palace Lord leave and sighed to himself, "How did this kid provoke someone like that?"

Evan Yang was completely unaware of what was happening outside. Thanks to the old man's help, he escaped danger and was now focused on breaking through to the fourth floor.

"Just a bit more. Keep going," Evan Yang thought to himself, determined to push through.

"You've got some skills! Hmph, let's see if you can handle this!" the man sneered. Five water jets appeared, shooting at Evan Yang from five directions.

When he finally broke through, Evan Yang exclaimed with joy, "I finally made it!"

On the fourth floor, only five books were displayed—less than the second and third floors. Evan Yang eagerly searched, determined to master the Body-Entry Art tonight and leave.

"Is this the Body-Entry Art?" Evan Yang finally found a book describing the technique and began studying it carefully.

Evan Yang remained fearless. These attacks were child's play to him; with a few swift moves, he scattered all five water jets.

By the time he finished reading, it was already the next day. Evan Yang had no time to study the other four books, so he reluctantly left the fourth floor.

As soon as he walked out, he saw the two men from yesterday. "Did they find out?" Evan Yang wondered to himself.

"Finally, you came out," one man said happily. The other replied, "I'll go report to the Palace Lord. You stop him."

"Damn it, kid, try this next!" the man exclaimed in shock.

"Okay."

One man left, while the other blocked Evan Yang, saying, "The Right Palace Lord wants to see you. Wait here."

"Right Palace Lord? Who?" Evan Yang asked, feigning ignorance. He couldn't admit he'd been there yesterday, or he'd be in serious trouble.
