Secrets of the Supreme Sovereign

The First Human Emperor was still extremely weak. The two big-eyed monsters, although notoriously unreliable, had dumped all their medicinal power into him—and somehow, it worked. The First Human Emperor's Primordial Spirit injuries eased considerably, letting him narrowly escape the God-Slaying Blade on the Execution Platform.

Of course, Quinn Shepherd had no idea about any of this. If he did, he’d definitely give those two eyeballs a thorough scolding.

The First Human Emperor managed to stand, his body swaying. His physical wounds had healed, but his Primordial Spirit and Heaven Palace remained severely damaged. At least his life was no longer in danger.

“Chi Creek’s injuries are lighter than mine. Right now, his strength far surpasses mine.”

The First Human Emperor said quietly, “I’m afraid I won’t be able to protect you anymore.”

Quinn Shepherd didn’t mind. “Even if he knows you’re weakened, he won’t dare make a move against you. He won’t risk it. And once I heal your injuries, he’ll be even less likely to gamble.”

The First Human Emperor shook his head. “It’s not him I’m worried about—it’s the Chiming Floating Realm. Before we enter, can you guarantee I’ll be healed?”

Quinn hesitated. He really couldn’t guarantee he could heal the First Human Emperor in just a few months. Primordial Spirit injuries were especially tricky, and he had no experience with Heaven Palace wounds. Besides, there weren’t enough spirit medicines on this battered ship. His Glutton Dragon Pouch held many herbs, but some key ingredients were still missing.

To heal the First Human Emperor, they’d have to visit the Chiming Floating Realm and see if they could buy enough spirit medicines.

“The Heaven-Collapse Three Forms damaged you too much. You absolutely can’t use them again,” Quinn warned.

The First Ancestor shook his head. "I don't want the Celestial Teacher to think I'm still just a deserter."

Quinn was taken aback. To be branded a deserter for a single act, and to carry that stigma for a lifetime, truly was cruel.

"The main reason the Celestial Teacher calls you a deserter may not be that you fled that battle," Quinn said.

Quinn pondered, trying to gauge the Woodcutter Sage's meaning. "After you deserted, you kept running for twenty thousand years, never once facing reality. All this time, you've lived in seclusion, doing nothing, never making any effort, never accomplishing anything—not even teaching your disciples properly. He wouldn't resent you just for fleeing once, but the fact that you kept running for twenty thousand years is something he can't forgive."

The First Ancestor fell silent, lost in thought.

Quinn said nothing more. He glanced at the trampled herb garden and frowned slightly. He could regrow most of these medicinal herbs using Creation Earth Origin Art, but many rare ingredients were still missing.

His Glutton Dragon Pouch bulged, and inside, two jade eyes rolled about. Quinn released the two jade eyes, and the huge eyeballs landed with a thud. Each planted its hands on the sides of its own round, bulging eye, shuffled in a circle, and surveyed the surroundings.

"Bro, bro! Girls! Girls!"

The Lunar Jade Eye nudged toward Lynn Ling, excited. "It's one of the girls who spotted us!"

Both eyeballs lit up, staring at Lynn Ling for a long moment, finally satisfied.
