Resurrection Method

The Celestial Emperor patted her shoulder and said, "The Crown Prince is still young, there's no rush."

The Celestial Empress nodded and didn't bring it up again for now.

......

That night, Grace (Chloe Zhu) received a voice transmission from Shannon Whitefan.

She told Grace (Chloe Zhu) that Evan Xiao hadn't chosen a consort.

"...Every woman who attended the Celestial Empress's birthday banquet dressed to impress, but every single one left disappointed," Shannon said.

"Weren't they supposed to choose a consort for him at the Celestial Empress's birthday banquet? Why didn't it happen?"

"My cousin said it was because His Highness the Crown Prince refused," Shannon replied.

Grace (Chloe Zhu) smiled, "Shannon, thank you for telling me this."

"Grace, I heard your mentor became the new Elder of the Spirit Alliance?"

"That's right! He's in Sigil City now," Grace (Chloe Zhu) said.

"Okay, got it," Shannon said. "Next time you're free, I'll come find you."

"Mm-hmm." Grace (Chloe Zhu) nodded.

After the voice transmission ended, the smile on Grace (Chloe Zhu)'s face faded a little.

Just as Rong Yin said: "Distance tests a horse's strength; time reveals a person's heart."

Since coming to Sigil City, Shannon had never reached out to her first.

She wanted to find Shannon, but the palace inner quarters were off-limits—she couldn't do anything about it.

She always thought maybe Shannon was just busy.

Or maybe she didn't know I'd arrived.

But when she was with Bai Yunshu, Shannon showed up right on time.

Her mentor showed up today, and she found out immediately.

Obviously, Shannon was super well-informed.

The reason she hadn't contacted me... was simply because she didn't need to.

Maybe she was worried I'd bug her to help me find Evan Xiao...

Now that she's reached out, it's because she wants something from my mentor...

Grace (Chloe Zhu) could tell Shannon had a thing for her mentor.

......

But Grace (Chloe Zhu) didn't blame Shannon.

As a princess of the Eastern Luo Empire, it seemed her mother's family wasn't all that powerful; she must've had a lot she couldn't control.

The next day, Grace (Chloe Zhu) went to Apricot Hill.

It's called Apricot Hill because the mountain is covered in apricot trees.

Besides the apricot grove, there were rolling forests and bamboo groves, tons of resources, and scenery that was just magical.

There was a big, enclosed building complex nestled in the mountains.

Elder Jun Lionhead lived here.

After Grace (Chloe Zhu) arrived, Jun Lionhead welcomed her in and taught her how to unlock the mountain barrier.

There was also a powerful array here, cutting off any outside spying or intruders.

The mountain barrier seemed to be open, so she walked right in.

Her mentor was in the courtyard, squatting on the ground doing who-knows-what.

She crept over and saw a dead spirit rabbit lying on the ground.

"Hey, Master, did you know I was coming today, so you caught a rabbit just for me?"

Jun Lionhead glanced at her and smiled, "You came at the perfect time. Check if it's really dead."

Grace (Chloe Zhu) checked and said, "Yep, it's dead."

"Even though I took you on as my disciple, I never actually taught you any medical techniques," Jun Lionhead said. "Now, I'll teach you one."

"Teach me what?"

"The Resurrection Method."

"Huh? There's actually a technique like that in this world?"

"It's not a spell, it's a medical technique."

"For real...?" Grace (Chloe Zhu) squatted down beside Jun Lionhead.

Jun Lionhead took her hand and placed it on the rabbit's belly. "Can you feel its Soul Core?"

"Yeah, I can feel it."

"The Soul Core gathers essence, energy, and spirit—it's the life source of a spiritual being," Jun Lionhead explained. "After the body dies, the life source only dissipates after six hours. So, if the body is intact, it can be revived within six hours of death!"
