All Escape Routes Blocked

Lily Evans's rhetorical question was absolutely brilliant—it instantly cleared up the confusion and doubts in the minds of those who had been suspicious of her.

The White Family is no ordinary clan. Back then, the infamous White Family Treason Case shook the entire kingdom. Now that their heirs have resurfaced, it's obvious they're up to something!

If it had been two nameless nobodies framing Lily Evans, people might have suspected that she orchestrated the whole thing herself just to clear her name.

But since the culprits are the White Family Heirs, there's really nothing left to say!

His Highness Prince Alexander Hayes has fought against the Kingdom of Chu for years. The White Family defected to Chu, making them mortal enemies of the Prince of Qin's Manor. There's no way Lily Evans could possibly be directing the White Family Heirs!

So everyone immediately concluded that it must be the White Family Heirs stirring up trouble, with the sole aim of framing the Prince of Qin's Manor!

Sophie White also quickly realized this, glaring at Lily Evans with gritted teeth. Lily walked over to Sophie and gently removed the silver needle from her mute acupoint.

Sophie White's eyes were bloodshot as she lowered her voice to Lily Evans: "Hmph, now that everyone knows I'm from the White Family, aren't you afraid I'll expose what your husband did after sheltering those traitors?"

Lily Evans smiled at Sophie White, completely unfazed. "Go ahead and say it—let's see if anyone believes you. Tsk, but if I were you, I wouldn't say a word."

Sophie White spat at her. "What, Lily Evans, even you, the wicked witch, are afraid of me spilling the beans!?"

Lily Evans glanced at Sophie White with disdain. "If you want to talk, then go ahead. But after you say it, whether His Highness will spare your life—that's another story entirely."

"You! Despicable!" Sophie White bit her lip hard, glaring at Lily. She had really underestimated her. She never expected Lily had calculated everything, blocking off every escape route!

If Sophie White kept her mouth shut and didn’t expose her connection to Alexander Hayes, maybe he’d remember their history and secretly help her out—at least, he wouldn’t want her dead.

But if Sophie White blurted it out, first, she had no proof—no one would believe her. They’d just think the White Family’s criminals were at it again, trying to frame Princess Consort Lily, and now even Prince Alexander. Second, she’d be burning any bridge she had with Alexander Hayes; after all, he risked his life to shelter her once, which was a huge favor. If she betrayed him now, she’d be digging her own grave.

Sophie White’s words stuck in her throat—she wanted to speak but couldn’t, so frustrated she could cough up blood. Panther, beside her, couldn’t speak either, but he was frantic, desperately signaling with his eyes for Sophie to reveal her connection to the Prince of Qin’s Manor. That way, everyone would believe Lily Evans sent them.

Sophie White saw Panther’s desperate signals, but she just couldn’t say it. She was so furious her chest heaved, but not a single word came out.

Lily Evans stood up, looking at Sophie White and Panther pinned to the ground. "Minister, now that we've caught the criminals who’ve been murdering infants around the capital, let’s send them to the Ministry of Justice for sentencing right away."

The Minister of War was deeply grateful to Lily Evans and Lin Xiaowu for saving his son. He immediately declared, "If not for Young Master Lin and Princess Consort Lily, my son would have died at the hands of these villains! Guards, assemble two squads—I'll personally escort the criminals to the Ministry of Justice!"
