Compared to Lord Lao, who still needed an excuse to meet with Monkey, and Lord Genesis, who orchestrated a roundabout scheme with a crowd at Mi’luo Palace just to draw Monkey into a discussion, Lord Skygate was much more direct—he simply showed up at the Imperial Horse Bureau.

That day, at dusk, Monkey soaked in a hot bath. Bored afterward, he wandered over to the neighboring Imperial Forbidden Guard post for a stroll. When he returned and pushed open his door, he saw the black-haired elder waiting inside.

Long black hair draped over his shoulders, a tall and imposing figure, tiger-like eyes, sword-shaped brows, and an unfathomable cultivation. No matter how you looked at him, he seemed every inch a true cultivator.
