He really does look fine.
In just a short time, his cultivation seems to have improved again, and he looks even more mature and composed.
A wave of sourness and anger surged in her chest.
All this time... he didn't even send a word to say he was safe!
Does he really think his friends are so unimportant?
The whole day, she refused to look at him even once.
After class, she walked straight back to her room alone.
Adrian called out to her a few times.
She stopped and turned around.
"Lucy, Little Five is finally back. Why not come to my place tonight for a get-together?" Adrian said cheerfully.
Lucy Luan: "No time."
"Busy with what?"
"Exams are coming up! I need to study, obviously. What else would I be busy with?" Lucy snapped, turning to leave.
Adrian scratched the back of his head, looking confused.
......
Back in her room, Lucy sat on her bed, zoning out.
After a while, someone knocked on her door.
She figured it was Mia Quinn forgetting her key again, so she opened the door mid-scold: "Did you forget—"
Her words froze in her throat.
But it wasn't Mia Quinn at the door.
Instead, it was Adrian, Ryan Lu, and Luna Lian.
And Sean Shaw.
"What are you guys doing here?" Lucy asked.
Adrian grinned shamelessly, dragged Sean inside, and waved Ryan and Luna over: "You said you had no time for my place, so we brought the party to you! Come on, everyone, help out!"
Ryan and Luna followed them in.
They cleared off her low table, bustling around and setting out a whole feast. It actually looked pretty impressive.
Lucy watched from the side, grumbling, "It's not a holiday, and nobody's birthday. Why all the fuss?"
Adrian declared, "We're welcoming Little Five back to the squad! I missed him like crazy!"
Lucy shot back, "Just because you missed him doesn't mean he missed you."
"Who says I didn't?" Adrian turned to Sean: "Little Five, did you miss me or not?"
Sean answered, "Nope."
Adrian: "..."
Lucy couldn't help but laugh at Adrian's face, her lips curling up.
Just then, Mia Quinn bounced in. The moment she saw all the food, she hopped over, calling out, "Hey! Why are you all standing around? Sit, sit! Come on!"
She shoved Adrian and Luna together on one side.
Then she pushed Lucy and Sean together on the other side.
Finally, she squeezed herself in next to Ryan, and the place instantly felt lively.
Luna poured wine for everyone.
The wine was a deep red, fragrant and mouthwatering.
"Me too! I want wine!" Mia begged, practically drooling.
"You're still a kid, what do you need wine for? Just eat something," Lucy frowned.
"Aw, Lucy, just one cup! Just one, I promise!" Mia clung to her. "Please?"
"Oh, let her have one! It's not like she'll get drunk from a single glass," Ryan said, handing her his own cup and pouring himself another.
"Why'd you give me the one you drank from?" Mia asked suspiciously.
"I didn't drink from it!" Ryan protested, glaring at her.
"Really didn't drink?"
"If you don't want it, forget it," Ryan said, reaching to take it back.
Mia wouldn’t let him, and explained, "Do you guys know what it means in Cangwu if two people drink from the same cup?"
"I know this one!" Luna laughed. "It means husband and wife! Only married couples can share a cup of wine!"
