Weak Sect Shows Strength

Hugh Hu went to see the fifth-ranked expert, Brandon Bi. Brandon wasn't easy to deal with—news about Evan Yang had already spread everywhere, so he knew a thing or two. When Hugh asked to borrow the Flameguard Robe, Brandon said, "Hugh Hu, you think you can just borrow it whenever you want? Feels like I'm supposed to listen to you now."

Hugh Hu was startled—he knew Brandon's temper, and he'd already lost to him once. So he answered respectfully, "Brandon, you misunderstood. This time, I'm doing it for the Ning Family's revenge."

"Ning Family?" Brandon asked skeptically.

"Yeah, Neil Ning, ranked eleventh. He got schooled by Evan Yang, so I asked the madman to step in. But I never expected Evan's fire to be so terrifying," Hugh Hu explained.

Hearing it was Neil Ning, Brandon's expression softened a bit. "You're doing this for him?"

"Yeah, could you lend it to me for the Ning Family's sake?" Hugh Hu pressed, seeing Brandon's attitude change.

Brandon thought for a moment. "Alright, I'll let you borrow it, but don't mess it up. If you do, you're in trouble." "I wouldn't dare, Brandon," Hugh replied awkwardly.

"Alright, take it," Brandon said, handing over a silver-glowing robe.

Hugh Hu knew this was the Flameguard Robe and eagerly took it, then left. Watching Hugh's departing figure, Brandon frowned, wondering what Evan Yang's origin was to control such terrifying flames.

Not just Brandon—actually, all the top ten experts were studying Evan Yang. They knew he already had the power to challenge them, and if he did, he'd end up facing any of them.

Brandon, with the Flameguard Robe, felt no fear. Others trusted their own strength, so they weren't afraid either. Only those ranked lower in the top ten felt worried.

Evan Yang hadn't realized he'd put so much pressure on those at the bottom of the top ten.

Immortal Lord Lin received the news and looked amazed: "That kid's fire is so powerful. Looks like I underestimated him. Interesting, I'll give him a big gift when he climbs high enough."

His followers stood quietly behind him until Immortal Lord Lin continued, "Keep supervising him, but don't be too obvious. When he has the strength to defeat the First Palace's number one, report to me. I'll give him a great gift."

"Yes." The Heavenly-Immortal left.

Evan Yang was in his room, not long before Hugh Hu challenged him. It was his third serious duel in a day—almost too much. In everyone's eyes, the top ten must be afraid, so they're rushing to kill Evan early.

But Hugh Hu postponed the fight for three days for some reason. Evan didn't ask why. As Evan walked down from the tenth floor, his divine sense detected the Heavenly-Immortal hiding in the shadows.

"He's here too?" Evan was surprised to find he was being supervised.

Knowing he was being watched, Evan Yang became extra cautious, determined not to reveal anything he shouldn't. Besides, many people—both familiar and unfamiliar—were watching him, making Evan a public figure in the First Palace.

"These people." Evan sighed inwardly. Just as he was about to return, a miserable cry echoed from the second floor. Evan happened to reach the second floor and saw a middle-aged man being publicly beaten.
