Chapter 1119: Instant Kill

Diras rambled on incessantly, putting on an air of magnanimity. Leon Merlin found it amusing, shaking his head gently as he glanced at the distant alchemical device. The shadows there were slowly fading, the blood mist nearly dispersed, yet the aura radiating from Boros only grew stronger.

Leon Merlin cast a faint glance at Diras, as if he were watching a clown waving its claws.

"Diras, if I were you, I wouldn't waste my breath here. I'd stand a bit farther away..."

With just one sentence, Diras was completely triggered. He sneered coldly, glaring at Leon Merlin.

"Leon Merlin, you fool, you actually dare to tell me to stand farther away? Are you planning to make a move on me? Do you dare?

I've changed my mind. Today is your last chance, you damned wretch. Everything you've done, all the humiliation you've brought me—I remember it all.

Sign a soul contract with me. Even if you die and become an undead, you'll continue to serve me, repaying the humiliation you've caused.

If you serve me well, show me your loyalty, I might even grant you a chance to complete your transcendental transformation.

Otherwise, today you'll pay a heavy price—a price you can't even imagine.

Not just you—even your Andalusia Kingdom is destined to be conquered by me. I’ll drive every last one of your people out of the Blazeforge Realm..."

Diras spat out threats in fury, his arrogance now laid bare. But halfway through his tirade, a muffled, agonized roar suddenly erupted from the alchemical device.

The deep roar sounded as if some terrifying beast had abruptly awakened—rudely disturbed from its slumber...

The shadows swirling around the alchemical device abruptly vanished, torn apart as if by some unseen force.

At that moment, the blood-red mist collapsed inward toward the center, finally forming a crimson glow that enveloped Boros's body.

Boros knelt on the ground, his body curled up tightly, a pained howl escaping his throat. The magic around him instantly turned wild and chaotic.

Then, the scattered magic began to flow back into Boros's body, like a bottle with a hole at the bottom—magic constantly gushing out.

But the instant the magic burst forth, it was sucked back in, devoured by the crimson light covering him. The blood glow seemed alive, tearing into Boros's flesh and merging with his body. Blood sprayed out, but just like the magic, it flowed back into him...

This sudden turn of events stunned everyone present.

Diras couldn’t spare any more threats for Leon Merlin; instead, he rushed toward the alchemical device in a panic.

"Boros, what's happening to you? Damn it, what the hell is going on? Say something—what's happening?!"

Diras roared as he rushed toward the alchemical device.

Suddenly, something began to bulge from Boros's back. His robe was shredded to tatters as blood-red vertebrae burst halfway out of his spine.

His body began to inflate wildly, as if pumped full of air. In less than a second, he had swollen to more than ten times his original size.

Blood-red bristles, sharp as steel needles, sprouted all over his skin. Thick, blood-soaked bone spurs burst from every joint.

ROAR...

With a furious roar, the monstrous form Boros had become finally lifted its head. Its face was covered in dense bristles, though Boros's original features were still faintly visible.

Saliva dripped from its gaping maw, where four blood-red fangs covered in runes jutted past its lips, interlocking like the tusks of an orc.

Its eyes had become pure crimson—no pupils, no whites—just burning blood-red flames, radiating madness and slaughter.

Boros straightened up, leaving everyone utterly stunned.

Towering over twenty meters tall, the monstrous figure crushed the alchemical device beneath its feet. Those massive claws looked like those of a transformed werewolf; while much of its face still resembled Boros, it now sported the signature thick tusks of an orc.

Its body was covered in blood-red bristles, reminiscent of some wild beast...

It was a terrifying half-human, half-beast monster—and most horrifying of all, it radiated the true aura of a Sky Rank powerhouse!

A layer of blood mist swirled around its body, exuding a dense supernatural energy that seemed instinctive.

Boros had suddenly become a monster—a Sky Rank monster. Diras was utterly stunned, staring at the pile of shattered alchemical devices. Almost instinctively, he shouted at the beast.

"Boros, you damned bastard, you actually destroyed that alchemical device!"

At that moment, the raging monster seemed to sense something. It suddenly turned its head toward Diras, those blood-red eyes flashing with madness. Its body hunched slightly, and then, like a charging mountain, it barreled toward Diras, compressing the air around it.

Its long arms, nearly dragging on the ground, swung fiercely at Diras. In an instant, the air before its claws exploded with force.

A wave of white air surged forth, with crackling flashes of lightning rolling within it. Yet the monster's claws seemed to tear through all obstacles, leaving only a fleeting afterimage before striking right in front of Diras.

A terrifying sense of danger swept through Diras's every pore. Only then did he realize the gravity of the situation—the transformation had failed...

A Shadow Cloak instantly appeared in front of him, along with a magic shield and a rune shield—only to be shattered by a single swipe of the monster's claw...

The magic shield burst like a bubble at the slightest touch, while the countless runes swirling on the rune shield were stripped away as if forcibly peeled off.

The blood glow coating the monster's claws acted like countless wicked blades, slicing away the runes from the rune shield upon contact...

In the blink of an eye, Diras's rune shield exploded, and the monster's claw slammed into the Shadow Cloak.

Black light collided with crimson light; with a single flash, the Shadow Cloak wrapped Diras in a ball of darkness, vanishing instantly beneath the monster's claw.

Over twenty meters away, a flicker of black light—Diras and the Shadow Cloak reappeared. But the black glow that once shimmered across the cloak suddenly vanished...

A massive tear, half a meter long, now marred the black cloak; many of its runes had been shredded...

Diras clutched the Shadow Cloak in distress. With a tear like this, its power would be cut in half. And this was a special magic artifact—if it were any other, it would have been destroyed outright...

Just thinking about how to repair the Shadow Cloak made Diras's heart bleed...

But that thought vanished in an instant. Diras, still shaken, glanced nervously at the nearby blood-red monster.

Damn, what a powerful monster. If the Shadow Cloak didn’t have its own shadow flicker ability, I’d have been torn to shreds...

Damn it, what the hell is going on? How did we break through to Sky Rank, only to end up as a crazed monster?

Diras didn’t dare think further. He quickly cast Shadow Concealment on himself, suppressing his magic fluctuations to the minimum, his body seemingly melting into the shadows.

He retreated rapidly, glancing back to see the monster in pursuit, its massive claws destroying everything in its path.

Two mages from the Shadow Tower, caught off guard, were struck by the monster’s claws. In an instant, they were wrapped in a layer of blood light. When it faded, only shriveled corpses dropped to the ground.

"Damn it, what’s going on, Lord Diras? What the hell are you people doing?"

Shocked cries rang out from the chaotic crowd. Just moments ago, everyone had been marveling at the Shadow Tower for producing a new Sky Rank mage. Now, it was as if a group of girls had suddenly run into a rampaging thug...

It’s worth noting that the strongest mages here were only ninth-rank titled archmages, and most weren’t even at that level...

They were less than a hundred meters from a monster with true Sky Rank power—disaster was inevitable...

A hundred meters was nothing for a monster over twenty meters tall—it could cross that in just two or three strides. And its speed was terrifying; like a Sky Rank Sword Saint, it crossed the distance in less than a second, tearing two mages apart...

Disaster struck suddenly. The crowd of mages fled in terror, and what had been a calm gathering erupted into violent surges of magic.

Magic shields, elemental shields, rune shields—these three defensive spells were instinctive protections for all titled archmages, and now every single one was activated.

Especially the rune shield, considered a titled archmage’s last line of defense. Once broken, it couldn’t be restored immediately.

In addition to these three layers, every mage added their own specialty spells—flame shields, frost shields, earth shields...

But none of those shields could withstand the monster’s power.

The half-human, half-beast monster was shrouded in a blood-red glow of supernatural power. Combined with its brute strength, it tore through the mages’ shields as easily as ripping paper.

In less than three seconds, three mages from the Shadow Tower were ripped to pieces. The Burning Tower’s mages, standing at the front, also lost three members to the monster’s claws—their bodies left as shriveled, broken corpses.

Especially those alchemists from the Burning Tower who researched the alchemical device—their strength was only eighth-rank titled archmage. If not for their alchemical skills, they’d never have been brought to the Blazeforge Battlefield by Didara.

They were the weakest among those at the front and closest to the alchemical device. When disaster struck, three alchemists were instantly killed—without even a chance to resist...
