Major Decision

"You mean your father already knows you're in the Netherworld? So he could take you away at any moment?" Evan Chu asked urgently. If that was really the case, there was nothing he could do—before a peerless powerhouse, Evan was no more than an ant, utterly powerless to resist.

"There's a soul tablet linked to me in Solarion Palace. For tens of thousands of years, my father and the others have poured enormous effort into searching for me. Because my soul tablet hasn't completely shattered, it means I'm still alive—just existing in a disembodied soul state. Of course, it's not easy for them to take me away either. After all, the laws of each world are what they are—there are some things that even he is helpless against."

"But if I recover a physical body, I won't be bound by those laws anymore. Even if they don't take me away, the laws themselves will force me out of here. So what you need to do now is raise your strength as fast as you can—especially by obtaining Faye Knox's Nether Yin Qi. Then, when you return to the Dragon Shrine and fully awaken your bloodline power, you might be able to ascend to another world." Luna said.

"I understand. No matter what, I'll help you restore your physical body. That's my promise to you, and my responsibility. Wherever you are, I'll find you at any cost and make you truly my woman. No one can stop me—not even your father," Evan Chu said firmly, his eyes burning with determination.

"Then go ahead and recover your Chaos Dragon Force. I believe as long as I don't manifest, my father won't be able to find me for now. You don't need to worry about it. If I do restore my body, even if I'm at the ends of the world, I'll wait for you and become your woman," Luna said.

At that moment, in a magnificent golden palace somewhere, a handsome middle-aged man frowned as he spoke to a young woman who looked barely thirty: "I was so close to finding Yueyan. But I'm sure she's in a very remote place right now, and she's deliberately hiding from me."

"Husband, you have to find Yara no matter what. Her soul tablet glows brighter every day, which proves she's recovering. My poor child must have suffered so much. We can't let her keep suffering out there—you have to promise me," the young woman pleaded.

"Do you think I don't want to bring her back? But at our current realm, we can't break the laws of this world. I can only use my divine sense to locate her, but I can't bring her back. If I forcibly try to take Yueyan away, her soul won't withstand those laws—she could be annihilated, body and soul," the middle-aged man said.

"So what now? I can't wait any longer. You're supposed to be a ruler of the Immortal Realm, an Immortal Emperor, but you can't even do this much. I think you've wasted these tens of thousands of years," the young woman complained, her face full of deep sorrow.

"Why do you have to mock me? You're an Immortal Emperor too, even if only at the early stage, and you know exactly how serious this is. Of course I miss Yueyan. Unless we let Solarion Palace leave the Immortal Realm again, but I won't do that."

Last time we left, those other old monsters swept through Solarion Palace’s territory and nearly wiped us out. It took everything we had to get it back, and if we go out again, I’m afraid—even with our Immortal Emperor cultivation—we won’t be able to hold our ground here. If I’m right, someone’s already plotting against us," the middle-aged man said gravely.

Turns out, this middle-aged man and the young woman are Yvonne Xuan’s parents—the Palace Lord of Solarion Palace and his wife. They’d appeared once before in the Mermaid Kingdom arc; Evan Chu remembers them, since they killed a lake monster then. That incident led rival powers to attack several Solarion Palace cities.

"Looks like we’ll have to send Yvonne’s fiancé down. If I recall, he cultivates an art that lets him suppress his realm—drop himself to the Immortal Lord stage and dodge the world laws. If he really loves Yvonne, he should be willing to risk it for her," the middle-aged man said.

"You mean Logan Vaughn? Yvonne’s never acknowledged him as her fiancé, and honestly, he’s not worthy of her. He only just broke through to Immortal Lord—his talent is way too mediocre. I’m against it," the young woman retorted.

"I know you’re prejudiced against him, but his father is the Heaven-Piercing Pavilion Master. These years, the top powers of the Immortal Realm have been eyeing our Solarion Palace’s Immortal Stone veins. If not for Heaven-Piercing Pavilion’s help, we’d have been wiped out long ago. We can’t let emotions rule this decision," the middle-aged man said.

"We’ll talk about this later. If he really can bring Yvonne back, maybe I’ll reconsider. If he fails, I’ll never accept him as a son-in-law." With that, the young woman left the hall.

A bitter smile flickered across the middle-aged man’s face. "You think I don’t want a heaven-defying genius as a son-in-law for Yvonne? But times change. Even as Palace Lord, there are things I just can’t control."

"Someone!" the middle-aged man called out toward the doorway. An elder hurried inside and bowed respectfully, "Palace Lord, what are your orders?"

"Go to Heaven-Piercing Pavilion and bring Logan Vaughn here. Tell him I need to see him—and bring his father too," the middle-aged man ordered.

The elder left at once. The middle-aged man glanced out at the sky beyond the hall and murmured, "I just hope this time we can really bring Yvonne home!" ...

Evan Chu, of course, knows nothing about any of this—he’s completely absorbed in refining Starstones, slowly restoring his Chaos Dragon Force. In just a day, the energy he spent is nearly back to full.

Roxanne Lin and Princess Ivy have finished absorbing that mysterious energy inside them, and now they’re back to their lively selves. Seeing Evan still cultivating, they don’t disturb him.

Princess Ivy doesn’t feel much change after absorbing the energy, but Roxanne Lin unknowingly breaks through a minor realm. She’s thrilled—just when she thought she’d hit her limit, Evan pulls off another miracle.

The two women say nothing, just quietly watching their beloved man absorb energy. Before long, Evan opens his eyes and grins, "Pretty good, huh? Staring at such a handsome guy—are you falling for me? Want another ‘great battle’?"

"You’re so shameless. Can’t you talk about anything else? Now that you’ve taken Skyspear City, what’s your plan?" Princess Ivy asked.

"Obviously, I’m going to let the whole world know. Come on, let’s go see—maybe your father’s already waiting for us. He probably didn’t want to disturb me while I was recovering," Evan said with a smile.
