The Wu Family’s Considerations

2/14/2026

The hall was silent.

Old Master Wu and the others already had their backs soaked in sweat.

They didn't even dare to breathe deeply, afraid of provoking Master Lin from Seacrest's displeasure or wrath.

After a long time, when Old Master Wu straightened up and looked ahead, the space before him was empty—there was no sign of Evan Lin.

"Master Lin from Seacrest..."

Old Master Wu glanced toward the doorway, but there wasn't a trace of anyone there.

He gave a bitter smile, slumped into his chair, his mind still buzzing.

"Dad..."

At this moment, Selina Shi didn't know what to say; she started to speak but stopped herself.

He didn't destroy our Wu family—he spared us for Selina Shi's sake.

At such a young age, he's already reached the Pointing-to-Mystery Realm and become famous in Seacrest. This kid's future is limitless.

Old Master Wu shook his head again and again; he looked as if he'd suddenly aged many years, completely dispirited. He muttered to himself, 'No wonder, no wonder Selina Shi would fall for him. No wonder he could come to our house anytime and always be so calm, never nervous or timid. With that kind of power, it's no exaggeration to say he could roam the world.'

Old Master Wu picked up the tea on the table and took a sip, but it still couldn't calm the pounding of his heart.

"Dad, he said he killed Butcher Tu—was that true?"

Selina Shi turned to look at Old Master Wu, recalling what Evan Lin said earlier, and asked, her tone still a bit incredulous.

"If he really is Master Lin from Seacrest, then his recent trip to Oceanport might well have been just to kill Butcher Tu."

Old Master Wu gave a bitter smile: "I used to think Butcher Tu was really in closed-door cultivation, just like the Guan family claimed. But now it seems he's most likely already dead."

"In the Guan family, their only real trump card was this one first-grade Vajra. In Oceanport, these past years, aside from those truly hidden masters who never show themselves, Butcher Tu was the one who single-handedly propped up the entire Guan clan's reputation."

Now that Butcher Tu is dead, the Guan family has lost its greatest support. Their prospects look grim.

Old Master Wu sighed, "In fact, the Guan family probably doesn't even know that Butcher Tu is dead yet. They have no idea what kind of being they've provoked."

"February Fourteenth—Mo Yang’s Burial!"

Old Master Wu muttered to himself, "Who else would dare to say such bold words?"

Hearing Old Master Wu’s words, Selina hesitated, then asked, "Should we call them? Should we tell them about Master Lin from Seacrest’s true identity?"

"If this keeps up, and one day the Guan family really angers Master Lin from Seacrest again, what awaits them will be..."

Selina left the rest unsaid—the outcome was obvious.

Master Lin from Seacrest could kill Mo Yang, level Medicine King Valley, burn Master Weiyao to ashes, and take over the Southriver Sword Sect. Someone like that might not get angry at mere ants, but if he does, his fury is truly terrifying.

"Why should we tell them?"

Old Master Wu shook his head: "This is a grudge between the Guan family and Master Lin from Seacrest. It’s none of our business."

When Butcher Tu came to kill Evan Lin, I didn’t interfere. Now, if Master Lin from Seacrest wants to wipe out the Guan family, I still won’t interfere. This has nothing to do with our Wu family.

At this, Old Master Wu looked at the intact landscape scroll on the wall, his face full of age and emotion: "Such a picturesque land—China truly is a land of beauty. How many years has it been since a Master Lin appeared in all of China?"

A youth with such spirit is like a divine dragon rising from the flat earth, climbing ever higher. How far can Evan Lin go?

Maybe, within his lifetime, Evan Lin could even step into that legendary realm...

Old Master Wu fell silent, full of emotion.

"If that's the case, should I call Selina back?"

Selina pondered for a moment: "Now that Butcher Tu is dead and the Guan family's strength is greatly reduced, no matter how talented Austin Guan is, he still can't possibly be a match for Master Lin."

"Selina herself never had much goodwill toward the Guan heirs. This time, we can just let her do as she wishes and stop pretending with the Guan family."

Hearing Selina's words, Old Master Wu stood up and walked slowly toward the courtyard, his steps a bit unsteady, but a faint smile suddenly appeared at his lips: "Just leave it be. She can come home whenever she wants."

"As for Austin Guan, he's a true child of heaven and a regular on the Oceanport Young Tigers List."

"Beijing has the Beijing Young Wyverns List, Oceanport has the Young Tigers List. They say these lists are made by bored rich heirs, but no one really knows who the organizers are."

"The true meaning behind them isn't something ordinary people can grasp. Austin Guan is already a fourth-grade Vajra. If he catches the right opportunity, he could one day rival even a revived Mo Yang, let alone Butcher Tu."

After speaking, Old Master Wu sighed and waved his hand. Selina Shi and the others bowed and left, not daring to question his decision.

"As for Master Lin from Seacrest, if he spared our Wu family today, he must have his own reasons."

"That's enough. I'm tired. Everyone, leave."

After speaking, Old Master Wu sighed and waved his hand. Selina Shi and the others bowed and left, not daring to question his decision.

Old Master Wu leaned back in his courtyard armchair, gazing at the dent left in the wall from Evan Lin's last visit, when he punched Tyson Tu into it. He murmured, "Just eighteen, and already Master Lin from Seacrest."

Give you another ten years—will you become Master Lin of China?

To have a son like this!

Evan Lin left the Wu family and headed straight home.

He arrived home at eight in the evening.

Irene Xu had a flight today and wasn't home, but when Stella Huang saw Evan Lin return, she immediately stood up, smiling brightly. "Congratulations, student representative!"

"It's just a formality, nothing special," Evan Lin sighed. When Wendy Wen mentioned working with the TV station, Evan thought of Stella Huang.

Stella Huang's post-graduation job offer was nearly locked in; she's been busy every day, and the station has given her major responsibilities.

"How can you say it's nothing special? At the senior-year rally for Capitalview First High School, being chosen as student representative is an honor people fight for. Now your photo and name will be displayed on the school's honor wall!"

"Most importantly, you're the first ever transfer student to become a student representative!"
