Everything before me was utterly unbelievable. Vivian Maple had completely suppressed the Twin Reapers, leaving them only able to defend, with no chance to strike back.
"It's getting faster and faster."
This was the scene unfolding before my eyes. In the air, all I could see was the Twin Reapers defending themselves, while a streak of violet shadow darted around them, exchanging blows, forcing them to retreat step by step.
"Looks like she's finally showing her true strength, Malice Wraith Sovereign."
Ray Lin chuckled as he spoke. We had already moved more than a hundred meters away, but we still had to stay alert for the air currents from the battle that could slice through the air and sweep past us at any moment.
Suddenly, Ray Lin reached out his hand, and a flash of green light shot past, bursting with a bang before my eyes. The fight was growing fiercer, and Vivian Maple's speed kept increasing. The Twin Reapers were struggling to keep up.
"Just what is going on?"
I muttered to myself. I had been puzzled just moments ago, but now I understood clearly: aside from Redmond's presence, the auras of Vivian Maple and Noah Grimm had completely vanished, as if the three had merged into one.
"Trinity Formation, Clear Origin. In the ghost world, many Specter Kings know about this. Redmond's power is probably the weakest among the Seven Ghost Sovereigns, and the most inconspicuous. But he has Vivian Maple and Noah Grimm as his right and left hands. If either of them is by Redmond's side, there's still a slim chance to get at him. But if both are present, it's nearly impossible to even approach him."
I gave a small 'oh.' Ever since I first met Redmond, I had noticed that either Vivian Maple or Noah Grimm would always be at his side. Often, both would accompany him.
"Redmond's power must be even stronger now."
I muttered, and Ray Lin nodded.
With a loud boom, Mr. White plummeted toward the ground. In a swift motion, a black tongue shot toward Vivian Maple, but missed—catching only a trace of her violet afterimage. Mr. Black, holding his Mourning Staff, staggered backward, his form shifted by Vivian Maple's fierce strike.
"William Fan!"
With a crash, Mr. White hit the ground. Vivian Maple, gripping the hilt of her short blade in her left hand, twisted her body; her right-hand blade had already pierced Mr. Black's chest.
With a splash, Mr. Black liquefied entirely, turning into a puddle that splattered droplets toward Vivian Maple. She dodged the droplets, which quickly reformed, restoring Mr. Black to his original state.
Mr. White instantly flew to Mr. Black's side with a whoosh. Mr. Black looked shaken but unharmed, and he let out a sigh of relief.
"She's already this strong. Bi'an, be careful. A single misstep and you could be finished."
Mr. White nodded. Both their gazes sharpened as they stared at Vivian Maple in the distance, clearly plotting their next move.
At that moment, a stream of red energy appeared nearby, and a small pavilion gradually materialized—created by Lucas Dao.
"Everyone, come into the pavilion and have a drink while you wait. This battle might last months, years, or even decades."
I let out a surprised sound, staring at Redmond in disbelief, while the others gathered inside the pavilion.
"You two over there, why not come over and have a drink as well?"
Lucas Dao called out. Ray Lin patted me on the shoulder and drifted over, and I followed slowly. Of all the people here, aside from the Bullheaded Keeper and Horsefaced Warden, I hadn't interacted with most, but I recognized everyone else—especially Marshal Leopard, who looked rather helpless.
"How foolish. To fall for such a simple trick—if word gets out, Marshal Leopard, you'll be the laughingstock of the underworld."
A burly figure with a bull's head and a human body chuckled beside me, white breath puffing from his nostrils. Marshal Leopard ignored the Bullheaded Keeper and stared quietly ahead, waiting for the next round of fighting to break out.
"If you want to get to Redmond, the only way is to break through those two. Whoever manages to get past even one can reach Redmond. But now the entire space is filled with Malice Wraith Force—it won’t be easy."
Lucas Dao muttered, and the Horsefaced Warden burst out laughing.
"It’s none of our business anyway. If something goes wrong, which of you will step up? The two of us want no part in this. Judge Bane only wants to use this situation to boost his own reputation. Anyone can see that. My advice: just fight for show. Don’t become someone else’s stepping stone. Wasn’t that what happened to that fool Quentin Kue?"
The Bullheaded Keeper immediately clutched his belly and roared with laughter.
"That guy's probably still trapped. Serves him right."
I swallowed and looked at the Bullheaded Keeper and Horsefaced Warden—what exactly were these two here for?
"Hmph, you two must have other plans. I’ve heard rumors you might be transferred under King Quentin, Judge of the First Court."
Victor Wei spoke sharply. The Bullheaded Keeper's smile froze, and the Horsefaced Warden glared at Victor Wei.
"Who told you that? Victor Wei, don't spread rumors. The two of us have always served under Judge Bao of the Fifth Tribunal, never the First."
"Can you two quiet down?"
Judge Cui frowned at them, and everyone instantly fell silent.
Just then, the Twin Reapers seemed to realize something. The brothers exchanged glances, and with a whoosh, Vivian Maple appeared before them again, their Mourning Staffs crossing.
With a buzz, a powerful shockwave struck Vivian Maple instantly. It was a sound attack—I stared in amazement as Vivian Maple's body was completely immobilized. Suddenly, Mr. Black let go, and Mr. White gripped the black Mourning Staff, while Mr. Black darted past Vivian Maple, heading straight for Redmond.
"Dam break... torrent..."
With a splash, Mr. Black transformed into a torrent of water, which instantly split into several sharp streams, like spears thrusting forward. The surge was like an army charging, soon covering the sky.

The two intertwined Mourning Staffs trembled violently. Mr. White clung tightly to his staff, while Vivian Maple's short blade moved slowly in her hand.
But in an instant, the streams formed by Mr. Black abruptly froze, as if turned to ice. It was Noah Grimm—he stood before Redmond, raising a hand, and a yellow glow radiated out.
"Disintegration..."
With a bang, as Noah Grimm shouted, the massive streams of water instantly broke apart into countless droplets.
With a whoosh, one exceptionally fast droplet shot straight into Noah Grimm's body.
"Good, got him."
The Horsefaced Warden muttered.
With a buzz, Mr. White's crossed Mourning Staffs suddenly parted. Vivian Maple curled her body defensively against the shockwave, but she quickly plummeted toward the ground.
