As Much as a Bundle of Firewood
He wasn't tall, looked frail, had a small head and big eyes, and wore one of those gray long robes typical of antique dealers.
For some reason, the moment Grace saw him, she immediately thought of the name on the VIP card: Wang Eight.
Honestly, he really did look a bit like a turtle...
"Do you need something, miss?" he asked.
"Are you Mr. Wang?" Grace asked.
"That's right. What can I do for you, miss?"
Grace took out the VIP card and asked, "Can you really sell any kind of information here?"
Mr. Wang glanced at the card and gave her an extremely sincere smile. "Absolutely! What do you want to know, miss?"
"I'm looking for information... about the Verdant Order," Grace said.
"The Verdant Order, huh? Well, you've come to the right place! I'm a member myself. So, what do you need from me?" Mr. Wang said.
Grace: "..."
"Miss?"
"You're really with the Verdant Order..." Grace said. "May I ask, what exactly does the Verdant Order do? Is it some kind of business association?"
"Not a business association—just a small group of independent cultivators, maybe ten or so. Not many people know about us," Mr. Wang said. "So, miss, what do you need from the Verdant Order?"
"Well, what I'm really looking for is Kunlun Divine Wood. I heard the Verdant Order might have a way to get some, so that's why I asked about it..."
"You should've said so earlier! How much Kunlun Divine Wood do you want?"
That was fast!
Grace thought for a moment and said, "...At least enough to make a bundle of firewood..."
"A bundle of firewood? What kind of description is that? You're not... planning to burn it as firewood, are you?"
Grace gave an awkward little smile.
"Are you a Spiritual Alchemist?"
"How did you know, Mr. Wang?"
"Our old Verdant Order president used to say that Spiritual Alchemists always came looking for Kunlun Divine Wood—just to burn it for pill refining! You alchemists treat every precious wood like firewood. What a waste!"
"Hehe! That's the only way to make the best pills! So, Mr. Wang, do you know any clues about Kunlun Divine Wood?" Grace asked.
"Let me think..." Mr. Wang tapped his temple with his finger. "On the Eastern Wasteland continent, the only place nearby where you could find that much Kunlun Divine Wood... there's just one place."
"Where?"
"The Kee Clan," Mr. Wang said. "Their founding ancestor's coffin was made from Kunlun Divine Wood."
"The Kee Clan..." Grace felt a chill. That was the oldest family on the Eastern Wasteland continent, second only to the Bai Clan.
"The Kee Clan originated in Moonshade Kingdom," Mr. Wang said. "So even though their main influence now spreads across the Eastern Luo, Eastern Zhou, and Eastern Tang Empires, their ancestral tomb is still in Moonshade."
Moonshade Kingdom is a vassal state of the Eastern Luo Empire. It's in the southwest, full of mountains, heavy rainfall, lush vegetation, and abundant resources.
There's also a mysterious sect called the 'Sigil Sect' there. The whole kingdom just feels shrouded in mystery.
"Do you know exactly where the Kee Clan's ancestral tomb is in Moonshade, Mr. Wang?" Grace asked.
"That's easy." Mr. Wang pulled out a sheet of paper from under the counter, grabbed a pen, and sketched a rough map. He handed it to her and said, "This is where the Kee Clan's ancestral tomb is located."
Grace took the map and saw a bunch of squiggly lines, several arrows, and a triangle marked with the character 'Kee.'
Honestly, the map looked like something she'd drawn when she was three.
