Who Said Such Outrageous Words

12/19/2025

Leon Zane was silent for quite a while before he finally realized the truth: "So, you invited me here today not to apologize, but to collect a debt from me?"

"What debt? I really had no other choice, that's why I came to you!" Grace replied with a polite smile. "I'm genuinely seeking help from the Imperial Advisor!"

Leon Zane slammed his chopsticks on the table, just about to lose his temper, when Evan Xiao looked up at him and said three words: "Help her out."

Leon Zane nearly choked: "General! Isn't this a bit much?"

Evan Xiao asked him, "What's so bad about it?"

"They say brothers are like limbs, women are like clothes. But honestly, with you, it seems the opposite!"

Evan Xiao thought for a moment and asked, "Who came up with that load of nonsense?"

Leon Zane: "..."

"Imperial Advisor, please have some more food! Thank you so much for your trouble!" Grace kept piling food into his bowl.

...

A few days later, Leon Zane actually handed her the pill.

When he gave it to her, his expression clearly said, "I never want to see you again."

But Grace had gotten used to his temperament by now.

Though he was always annoyed with her, for Evan Xiao's sake, he'd never actually done anything to hurt her...

Now that she had the pill, Grace found Leon Zane more and more agreeable!

Plus, for some reason, every time she saw him, she just wanted to mess with him...

With the pill in hand, Grace went home and announced that she was going into seclusion for three days—no matter what happened, she was not to be disturbed.

Then she entered her space and added a few spirit jades to the illusion array.

The spiritual energy in the whole space was incredibly dense.

She sat cross-legged on the open ground in front of the ancient tower and began her breakthrough to the eighth rank.

...

When she opened her eyes again, the first thing she saw was Little Cutie.

Afraid of disturbing her, it quietly hid behind a distant tree, peeking out with just its head.

"Little Cutie! When did you get here?" Grace waved at it with a smile.

Little Cutie swam over and looked up at her.

It had come just to check on her, worried about her safety.

"Little Cutie, I've broken through to the eighth rank—I'm now an eighth-rank Spirit Practitioner!" Grace said proudly. "I'm officially the strongest in the Zhu Family now! Even stronger than my dad, ha!"

You'd better not say that in front of your father-in-law.

Father-in-law's pride is nothing to mess with.

"Aren't you happy for me?" Grace scooped it up in her arms.

Of course, extremely happy.

I'd be even happier if you reached Spirit Practitioner Perfection sooner.

"Come on, let's go find my dad. He'll be thrilled when he hears!" Grace carried Little Cutie out.

He probably won't be.

Did you know your family's in trouble?

Apparently, she still had no idea...

Grace left her space, bursting with excitement, and opened the door she'd kept shut for three whole days.

But as soon as she stepped out, her nanny anxiously told her that Maya Summers had been kidnapped!

"What? Kidnapped?" Grace gasped. "What happened?"

The nanny shook her head. "All we know is they want a lot of money. The matriarch and the Prime Minister are scrambling to raise it. You should go check on them!"

The Zhu Family is one of the wealthiest in the Blue Moon Kingdom.

If even they have to scramble for money, it means the ransom is truly astronomical.

Grace went to her dad to ask what was going on.

Turns out, yesterday someone suddenly sent over a package. Inside was Maya Summers' whip—and a ransom note.
