"Have you ever heard of the Mo‑Tai Race?"

......

Somewhere in the Lunyis Star System's asteroid belt, in a vacant spot among the drifting rocks, Andrew Han stared in shock at the half‑severed remnant. "You... you're Mo‑Tai?"

"Mm." The remnant seemed a bit excited. "Our Mo‑Tai Race hasn't been wiped out, right?"

It vaguely sensed the answer.

The race that birthed and raised it had not perished under divine punishment!

Sure enough, Andrew Han nodded. "I never expected you to actually be from the second‑rate Mo‑Tai Race. After all, you look so strange and unique—triangular crystalline body... Well, beauty and ugliness have no clear boundaries. Speaking of which, I once obtained the Mo‑Tai Legacy your race scattered across the stars."

"The Mo‑Tai Race has become a second‑rate life race? And what is the Mo‑Tai Legacy?" The remnant seemed a bit bewildered.

Ever since its brief revival, it had remained calm—this was the first time it had been truly stunned.

Even upon learning that the Human Race had ascended to Supreme Race status, it had only been pleasantly surprised, a little manic with excitement.

And so—

Andrew Han did his best to explain the current state of the Mo‑Tai Race.

"Mm, mm."

The remnant listened obediently, instantly falling silent.

In the vacuum of the asteroid belt, silence reigned. No life passed through here, and not even the distant stars could be seen dotting the sky.

Just from the information Andrew Han knew, combined with the data Bailey had stored, the half‑severed remnant would at times nearly shriek with joy, at times fall into long, silent reflection. Its emotional swings were so intense that Andrew Han found them astonishing.

"Tsk, tsk."

He curled his lip. "So there really is so much in this world you don't know."

The remnant flared up in anger but had no words to retort, finally bursting out, "I only know what happened before I died—how could I possibly know what happened after? Only the Shenro Clan has the innate talent to foresee the flow of destiny."

"The concept of omniscience and omnipotence is beyond your imagination!"

"Still, since you’re the successor favored by fate and you’ve brought me two pieces of good news, I’ll share a cosmic secret with you as a token of friendship—after my research, I can confirm that the ancestors of the Shenro Clan truly once entered an unfathomable state of omniscience and omnipotence."

Hearing this, Andrew Han nodded.

A look of contemplation flickered in his eyes.

Such a clumsy, abrupt way of changing the subject—completely disconnected, with no causal logic at all...

‘No wonder it’s an old relic.’

‘Revealing these secrets out of nowhere—the real purpose isn’t to inform me, but to use me to warn the Star‑Sky Humans!’

But what exactly is it trying to warn about?

Andrew Han was at a loss, his thoughts growing more and more tangled.

"Stop guessing."

The remnant chuckled softly. "Andrew Han, you should be grateful you were born Human, and even more grateful that your race now stands alongside the Shenro Clan as a Supreme Race. You know, from ancient times to now, not a single Fate Rebel has ever held the status of a Supreme Race lifeform!"

Andrew Han couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

The Shenro Clan again...

And again, it’s all about fate...

As the saying goes, it never strays from its old profession—even in death, this remnant stays true to its calling.

Others remember their duties and missions in life; this remnant remembers them even in death, never ceasing to emphasize its purpose.

With that thought—

Andrew Han pressed on, "So, up to now, how many generations of Fate Rebels have there been?"

"I don’t know either." The triangular remnant grew even more ethereal and vague. "Only after the previous Fate Rebel dies does the cosmic starry sky grant a new one, and this process is rarely brief."

In other words—

Across the entire universe, there can only ever be one Fate Rebel alive at a time. After one dies, it takes a long time before a new Fate Rebel emerges.

"Oh."

"So I really am one of a kind." Andrew Han nodded to himself, a relaxed smile spreading across his face.

The remnant snorted. "Every Supreme is one of a kind—the starry sky itself sings their praises."

Sings?

Andrew Han couldn’t quite hear it, as if some mysterious barrier kept the meaning just out of reach.

"Hmph." The remnant shot Andrew Han a glance, but didn’t bother to explain further. With a quiet, lingering sigh, it said, "Whatever you gain, you must pay for; whatever you harvest, you must bear. Since ancient times, not a single Fate Rebel has ever died a natural death. The Lords of Fate will stop at nothing to hunt you down, find you, and kill you!"

"This is neither glory nor opportunity."

"Andrew Han, successor of fate, all I can leave you is these Fate Traces!"

As he listened, Andrew Han frowned but ultimately said nothing.

Cosmic Eternal Realm beings open the gate to immortality—but even then, they can never die a natural death. And aren’t the Lords of Fate just Shenro Clan lifeforms?

He wanted to ask about these doubts...

But the remnant’s heavy tone, its rasping voice, and its increasingly frail, ancient aura made Andrew Han feel as if a suffocating cloud was pressing down on him, almost making it hard to breathe.

What is gone is gone.

Even this terrifying remnant, revived against the laws of nature, could hold on no longer.

It was dying.

Its body’s sharp angles grew dim and lost their luster.

Its voice grew urgent: "Remember, remember the information I’m about to give you—even if you can’t understand it yet, that’s fine."

"Fate Traces are crucial to us! Every cosmic body has traces of fate, some strong, some weak—never absorb the Fate Traces of a black hole! Once you transcend the Cosmic Eternal Realm, the influence of Fate Traces will gradually fade!"

"Your so-called Berserker State—don’t use it too often in the future, or you’ll draw the attention of the Shenro Clan!"

"Become Cosmos Union Tier as soon as possible—that’s when we Fate Rebels are at our strongest!"
