Fusion of the Demi-plane and the Natural Semi-Plane

Chapter 1271

By the seventh day, Leon had already sensed he was being watched. Every day, he pushed his mental strength to the limit, spending over a dozen hours in a state of mental frenzy. Yet after a night's sleep, his soul felt even purer, his spiritual power grew stronger, and his mental strength surged like a geyser. Naturally, his perception became sharper and sharper.

Still, Leon didn't care. In this completely sealed space, letting outsiders in was dangerous enough. It was only natural for them to be cautious. Besides, the surveillance only happened when he was researching the Runes of Truth, so he didn't mind. There was no way his research could be monitored closely enough to reveal anything truly important.

Besides, all the mysteries and data he uncovered in his research would eventually be copied and sent to Astral Academy anyway. So what if they saw it?

Leon ignored all these distractions and started thinking about other things. In ten days, he'd comprehended more than fifty Runes of Truth.

And with each passing day, by now, after just two hours of sleep, all the mental strength he'd spent was fully restored. The concentration of his spiritual power was nearly enough to withstand a full day of mental frenzy.

After his rest, Leon turned and appeared inside the Natural Semi-Plane.

At the heart of the Natural Semi-Plane, the Sky Pillar was already three-quarters covered in radiant, multicolored light.

This meant the demi-plane was almost fully fused into the Natural Semi-Plane, nearly touching its core. Once the entire Sky Pillar began to glow with color, the demi-plane he'd created would be indistinguishable from the Natural Semi-Plane itself.

Then, the Sky Pillar would become the most unique place within the Natural Semi-Plane. What would happen next, even Leon couldn't say. After all, there's no record of anything like this. Even those who'd possessed a Natural Semi-Plane before had never developed it to this extent...

Any unique changes... well, maybe he'd only understand them when the time came.

He checked on things—the Natural Semi-Plane was developing rapidly and everything was progressing steadily. The Arcanavine had grown into a massive forest of vines, stretching deep into the void.

Only in a newborn Natural Semi-Plane could the Arcanavine reach this level. Only here, after planting an Arcanavine seed and watching it sprout, could it so easily rip mana straight from the void.

With these Arcanavines, the mana problem in the Natural Semi-Plane might finally be solved for good.

The Mana Lake he'd gathered—its liquefied mana had already diminished by a tenth, all of it devoured by the Sky Pillar. That was the key reason his demi-plane could fuse with the Natural Semi-Plane so quickly.

Everything was running smoothly, until suddenly Leon had a wild idea—one that, once it surfaced, he couldn't suppress.

Inscribe the Runes of Truth he'd researched into the demi-plane!

Leon hovered at the summit of the Sky Pillar, and the more he thought about it, the harder it was to resist.

The Whisper Crystal might be a seriously sinister artifact—who knew what twisted things lurked inside it? But the Runes of Truth were pure mysteries, pure truth. Even when that prodigy at Astral Academy went mad and nearly destroyed the place, the research on the Runes of Truth never stopped.

Because the Runes of Truth aren't anything sinister—they're just near-law mysteries. Even at Northend's peak, research into the Runes of Truth continued, and there was never any bad news about them.

If these things were so powerful, holding secrets close to truth itself, then inscribing them into a developing demi-plane couldn't possibly be a bad idea... right?

The more he thought, the harder it was to suppress this wild idea. After half an hour of pondering, Leon couldn't think of a single downside.

Even so, Leon didn't rush in blindly. He thought it through and decided to first inscribe the Runes of Truth he'd comprehended onto the Sky Pillar.

The Sky Pillar was special, but hadn't fully fused with the Natural Semi-Plane yet. If the Runes of Truth were truly beneficial, great. If something went wrong, the worst case would be the Sky Pillar's destruction, losing his rule-bearing foundation and dropping back to just-broken-through Sky Rank.

With the Natural Semi-Plane backing him, and having walked through the Gate of Rebirth, he was born Sky Rank anyway. No matter what, he couldn't fall below Sky Rank.

So what was there to fear? He had to test it out...

Leon recalled the Runes of Truth he'd comprehended and decided to start by inscribing the ones about energy conversion onto the Sky Pillar.

The shielding force he'd wrapped around himself faded away, and terrifying transcendent power burst forth. Instantly, his power stirred the rules of the entire Natural Semi-Plane—earth, fire, water, and wind all rippled with Leon's surge.

Mana, transcendent power, and spirit all converged, condensing his understanding of a single Rune of Truth in his mind.

In an instant, a deep and flawless Law Sigil appeared before Leon. The sigil began to take shape like a tetrahedron, then four tetrahedrons merged, forming a three-dimensional rune—the most stable, perfect foundation for a Law Sigil.

As Leon slowly poured his insight and spirit into it, the foundational Law Sigil radiated an ever-deepening, mysterious aura.

Gradually, this flawless Law Sigil began to spin, shifting into a planar rune, then into a strange, simple rune—almost like a character from some ancient, secret language...

Leon, solemn-faced, guided the Rune of Truth and slowly merged it into the upper part of the Sky Pillar.

The rune touched the Sky Pillar, which shimmered with colored light, and instantly fused into it.

But after the rune fused, nothing happened. Leon frowned.

Even a bad reaction would be better than nothing. Right now, there was neither progress nor disaster. It seemed the Rune of Truth had no effect on the demi-plane.

But that was the least likely outcome. After all, the Rune of Truth contained law-like power—good or bad, there should've been some reaction. Leon hadn't expected this at all...

After fusing one rune with no results, Leon condensed another Rune of Truth, and another—until he'd merged all fifty he'd comprehended into the Sky Pillar. Still, nothing changed.

Leon sighed and prepared to leave the demi-plane.

Suddenly, the Sky Pillar began to tremble—a strange ripple appeared, and the shaking grew more intense, like a mild earthquake.

But aside from the trembling, nothing else changed. Five minutes later, Leon suddenly sensed something and looked up, spotting a water dragon flying in from the distance, its mana aura so dense it was suffocating.

In this thick mana aura, if a mage or even an archmage lingered here, the sheer density of mana might just burst them apart...

Leon stared in shock at the massive water dragon, at least ten meters thick. It was the Mana Elixir from the Mana Lake, forcibly drawn in by the Sky Pillar.

Previously, the Sky Pillar had absorbed mana from the entire Natural Semi-Plane, creating a vacuum effect that caused the Mana Lake's Mana Elixir to evaporate and refill the void.

Normally, this would be impossible—the Mana Lake is over a thousand kilometers away from the Sky Pillar!

Leon soared into the air. At this point, there was nothing he could do. The massive water dragon stretched so far he couldn't see its end, moving at terrifying speed. Even controlling the Natural Semi-Plane couldn't stop it now.

Anything in its path would be destroyed. This was pure mana impact—crossing a thousand kilometers in minutes, carrying devastating force. Even a Sky Rank powerhouse could be killed instantly...

Leon watched as the water dragon rushed at the Sky Pillar, but the expected destruction never came. Instead, the mana dragon was swallowed whole by the Sky Pillar, as if by some colossal beast.

Mana vanished rapidly inside the Sky Pillar, and the entire Natural Semi-Plane trembled. Every living creature within shuddered under the power, especially the simple bugs and creatures born of the plane—they fled underground, too terrified to emerge.
