Unrepentant Until Death

He glanced at Lillian Shang, who sat within the formation. Did he hate her? She was his mother—what right did he have to hate her? Fiona Yun probably didn’t hate her either. She had long since let go of all love and resentment, so much so that he once believed she was truly indifferent.

But Susie Yun—her hatred was so deep. If she knew that after her death, her mother did all this for her, would it finally dissolve the bitterness in her heart?

Lost in thought, he suddenly felt a chill. "Jingle, jingle..." The little bell kept trembling, producing a series of crisp sounds.

Lillian Shang’s eyes flew open in surprise, only to see an old man with white hair, white beard, and white eyebrows. His pitch-black robe contrasted sharply with his white features. His gaze toward her was cold and hostile, but Lillian Shang had no mind for other concerns—she urgently asked, "Who are you? Where is Susie?"

King Yama, the Judge of the Underworld in Chinese mythology, snorted coldly and reached out, tossing Susie Yun beside Lillian Shang. Seeing Susie, Lillian’s face lit up with excitement. "Susie..."

Timothy Yun stood outside the formation. Since the array had already been activated, he couldn’t enter; he could only wait for Lillian Shang to withdraw her spiritual power before going in. But that would only be possible after Susie Yun left.

Ethan Yun also heard the bell’s ringing and came running out. Seeing Susie Yun’s spirit, his eyes filled with emotion.

Lillian Shang tried to reach out and embrace Susie Yun, but Susie pushed her away, her face full of disgust.

Lillian Shang froze. "Susie? What’s wrong with you?"

Susie Yun glared at her, hatred written all over her face. "Stop pretending to be kind. Why did you summon me back? I’m already dead—won’t you even let my soul be? Or do you want to use my spirit to refine a pill for Fiona Yun, to help her improve her cultivation?"

"Susie..." Lillian Shang was stunned. "What are you talking about? How could I possibly use your soul to refine pills? Besides, Fiona is already dead!"

"Dead? Dead..." Susie Yun muttered to herself for a long time before she snapped back, bursting into wild laughter. Her eyes shone with fierce delight. "Fiona Yun is finally dead? Ha ha..."

Lillian Shang stared at her, as if she no longer recognized her own daughter. In truth, it wasn’t surprising—Susie Yun had always been obedient and well-behaved in front of her. Lillian had never seen her so crazed with hatred.

Seeing Lillian Shang’s stunned expression, a trace of malice flashed in Susie Yun’s eyes. She was already dead—what did she have to fear? She had always regretted not killing Fiona Yun before she died, but now that Fiona was gone, she finally felt satisfied. Since fate had given her this chance, she certainly wouldn’t let her dear mother off easily!

"Susie..." Lillian Shang seemed to realize something, her lips parted as she struggled to speak. "Do you hate me?"

"Hate? Of course I hate you!" Susie Yun’s face twisted as she looked at the heartbroken Lillian Shang, her eyes filled with sarcasm and resentment. "Why? Why did I have to lose everything, while Fiona Yun could have anything she wanted? What makes her better than me?"

Timothy Yun watched Susie Yun, pain in his heart, and spoke helplessly. "Susie, the truth is, Fiona never got anything."

He used to think Fiona Yun was happier than Susie Yun, but later he realized it was Fiona who suffered most. Her cold nature meant she never cared for the family head position—all those burdens were forced on her by Lillian Shang. They were nothing but a weight.

And as for what Susie Yun wanted, nobody ever cared.

Susie Yun may have been stripped of her abilities, but she received her parents’ love—and even as her brother, Timothy Yun gave her all his affection. Everyone tried to fulfill her every wish. In truth, the one who always got what she wanted was never Fiona Yun.

Susie Yun ignored Timothy Yun. Though Timothy genuinely cared for her, in her heart, he held little importance. To her, Timothy was just a pawn to use against Fiona Yun. Everything she did was to hurt Fiona—she cared nothing for feelings, only for what she lost because of Fiona!

Seeing Lillian Shang’s pained expression, Susie Yun seemed pleased. She smiled wickedly and said, "You still don’t know, do you? That time you nearly died—it was my doing. And the one who saved you was Fiona Yun, not me! I only wanted you dead, why would I save you? Ha ha... I know that self-righteous fool will never say a word."

Lillian Shang was utterly shocked. The daughter she had always cherished actually wanted her dead? And the daughter she had neglected all her life was the one who saved her!

Ethan Yun also looked stunned, and even Timothy Yun, who knew some things, found it hard to believe. He never imagined Susie Yun would want to kill their mother!

King Yama, the Judge of the Underworld, however, understood it all. Fiona Yun saved Lillian Shang to repay her for raising her—Fiona disliked owing anyone, and since she already considered these people outsiders, she made sure the accounts were settled. King Yama had always known this, and it pained him.

King Yama looked at Susie Yun and said, "Do you even know that if it weren’t for Fiona, you’d have died long ago? Do you really think surviving that fall was just luck?"

Back then, Susie Yun entered the Darknight Sect for training—a secretive and perilous martial arts school. Once, she fell off a cliff but miraculously survived. No one else knew about this—Susie herself thought she was just lucky.

When Susie Yun was young, she did save Fiona Yun once, so the debt had to be repaid. That time, it was Fiona who saved her.

Susie Yun understood King Yama’s meaning but refused to believe it. Agitated, she shouted, "I don’t believe it! I don’t want her fake kindness. Not owe me? As long as she carries even a trace of my power, she’ll always owe me! She’s always acted like she’s the only kind one. Ha! Kindness? She survived three years in the Darknight Sect—how could she be kind? Her hands are stained with blood, yet she always looks untouched by the world, as if everyone else is filthy but her. She’s the dirtiest of all! Ha ha..."

Susie Yun laughed uncontrollably, her expression growing more and more twisted. "The Fiona Yun who came out of the Darknight Sect is even more hateful than before! No matter what I do, she doesn’t even get angry. She acts like she cares about everything—it’s disgusting! I want her to live a fate worse than death. How can she feel nothing?"
