Sylvia Ran Begs Cici

1/4/2026

After everyone else had left the meeting room, Cecilia Gu said to Sylvia Ran, "Alright, it's just the two of us now. You can speak."

Tears instantly welled up in Sylvia Ran's eyes and fell.

Sylvia Ran was already beautiful, but when she cried like this, she looked like a delicate flower in the rain—so fragile and pitiful.

If it were a man standing here, hardly anyone could resist Sylvia Ran's tears.

Unfortunately... the person standing in front of her was Cecilia Gu.

Cecilia Gu frowned.

Sylvia Ran didn't say a word—she just started crying. With talent like that, it's a shame she's not in the film industry.

Who is she crying for, anyway?

It's not like I'm into girls.

"Cici, I'm sorry." Sylvia Ran suddenly grabbed Cecilia Gu's hand, tears streaming down her face. "I know what I'm saying is too much, but I just can't hold it in anymore!"

"If you have something to say, just say it. They're all still waiting for me," Cecilia Gu gently pulled her hand away, putting distance between herself and Sylvia Ran.

This woman was unpredictable—Cecilia absolutely couldn't give her any chance to hurt her or her child.

Seeing Cecilia's resistance, Sylvia Ran bit her lip and cried even harder. "Cici, I'm begging you—please give Charles to me! I really love him! I can't live without him!"

Cecilia almost laughed out of anger.

"Cici, you don't understand the feelings between Charles and me. It's not something you can just let go of so easily. We've grown up together since we were kids! Even when we were little, Charles liked me, and I liked him too. For me, he never talked to other girls at school. He never accepted gifts or affection from anyone else. He waited until I turned sixteen to officially confess to me. Do you know how careful he was with me?"

"Charles said he can only be friends with me now because you're his wife. But Cici, do you understand? Forced feelings aren't real love! Charles has always loved me! He's only with you out of responsibility. He just doesn't want your position to be too awkward, so he told me we could go back to being friends. I agreed, but seeing him by your side—I just can't take it anymore."

Listening to Sylvia Ran's tearful accusations, Cecilia Gu could only shake her head speechlessly.

If she hadn't gone shopping and on a date with Charles Yin yesterday, if she hadn't heard his awkward but genuine confession with her own ears, maybe she would have actually believed Sylvia Ran.

Seeing that Cecilia didn't believe her, Sylvia Ran decided to play her trump card: "Cici, you must have noticed that Charles never eats food from outside. Do you know why? When we were kids, I once ate outside food and got food poisoning. Charles stayed by my side for a whole day and night until I woke up. He told me he'd never let me eat outside food again, and that he'd do the same himself."

Cecilia's heart skipped a beat.

Even though Cecilia Gu believed that Charles Yin's feelings for her weren't fake.

He was far too proud to ever pretend about something like that!

In other words, he had no reason to use feelings to deceive her.

The prouder someone is, the less likely they are to play games with love.

Still, Cecilia couldn't help but feel a little sour inside as she listened to Sylvia Ran.

That's right, I'm jealous!

I'm totally jealous!

I admit it, okay!

Cecilia's subtle change in expression didn't escape Sylvia Ran. Sylvia continued, "Cici, look, after all these years, Charles still has this habit. He never changed, right? That means he's never truly forgotten me. It's just because... because..."

Sylvia looked at Cecilia with what she thought was a sincere expression. "Honestly, you don't really love him, do you? I know you only married Charles because you accidentally went into the wrong room and got pregnant. If you take the initiative to leave, Charles won't say anything. Of course, I'm not trying to kick you out right now. Don't worry—I'll treat your child as my own, and I'll raise him myself."

"Cici, you know I'm actually a kind person. I would never mistreat your child. Cici, I'm begging you—please give Charles to me, okay?" Sylvia Ran's tears splattered on the floor. "I'm softhearted and can't stand seeing anyone get hurt, so you can trust me. I can even promise you, for your child's sake, I won't have kids of my own. I'll be your child's mother. Plus, I've prepared some money for you so that when you leave the Yin family, you won't have a hard time. If you ever need help, just let me know—I won't stand by and do nothing."

Cecilia took a step back and looked at Sylvia Ran with icy calm. She didn't argue, just replied quietly, "Sylvia Ran, none of this matters. It's simple—I'm not the type to cling. If Charles Yin tells me himself to leave, you won't have to spend a penny, because I don't have that much pride."

Sylvia Ran's face stiffened.

If Charles Yin could say those words, she wouldn't have to beg Cecilia Gu like this!

Seeing that Cecilia wasn't falling for it, Sylvia Ran suddenly stepped forward and knelt before her!

"Cici, I'm begging you, okay?" Sylvia's voice rose. "Are you really going to drive me to my death? Do you really not care if I die here? But Cecilia, you know Charles and I grew up together. Our parents are close friends. If you drive me to my death, do you think you and Charles could ever be together?"

Cecilia lowered her eyes, her voice growing colder. "So you're here to threaten me? Sylvia Ran, I've never gone out of my way to hurt anyone, and I've never broken up anyone's marriage. If you're so sure you and Charles Yin are truly in love, then prove it! Like I said, if Charles Yin tells me himself to step aside, I'll do it without a fuss. I may be softhearted, but that doesn't mean I'm gullible. Sylvia Ran, you're begging the wrong person. If that's all, I'm leaving."

Without another glance at Sylvia Ran, Cecilia turned and left the meeting room.

She opened the door and saw Rona Muir leaning against the wall outside, arms crossed, waiting for her. Cecilia's heart suddenly felt warm.

So what if I've run into my share of jerks and drama queens?

There's always someone out there who truly understands me.

"Let's go." Cecilia smiled at Rona Muir, who nodded and walked off with her.

Sylvia Ran never expected that her tearful performance wouldn't move Cecilia Gu at all!

How is that possible?

When Lydia Lin begged her, didn't she soften up?

Hmph, Cecilia Gu, so you're not falling for it, huh?

Well, you brought this on yourself!

Don't blame me for what happens next!

Sylvia Ran slowly got up from the floor and wiped the tears from her face.

The pain and struggle from a moment ago were instantly replaced by cold determination.

Sylvia Ran picked up her phone and dialed a number. As soon as the call connected, she launched into a dramatic performance: "Auntie, I'm so wronged... I didn't do anything wrong, but Charles is completely ignoring me... Waaa..."

Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir headed downstairs.

Seeing everyone still waiting for her, Cecilia quickly apologized, "Sorry, I thought you'd all gone ahead..."

Sophie Mo smiled gently, "It's fine, it's nice to get some sun. Staying inside all day is driving me crazy!"

Sophie Mo and Rona Muir were completely different types.

The former was delicate and gentle, while the latter was the epitome of sexy.

Even though Sophie Mo and Rona Muir weren't very familiar with each other, as beautiful women, they naturally started a silent rivalry.

Seeing how close Rona Muir was with Cecilia Gu, Sophie Mo couldn't help feeling a little competitive.

Especially since Cecilia looked exactly like Nora Yun.

Nora Yun almost became Sophie Mo's sister-in-law!

Even if Cecilia Gu wasn't Nora Yun, deep down, Sophie Mo still considered Cecilia as one of her own.

Now, seeing how close Rona Muir was with Cecilia, Sophie couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable.

So, as everyone was heading out, she suggested they wait for Cecilia.

Sophie Mo's suggestion was met with unanimous approval, so everyone waited and chatted downstairs.

Rona Muir, who'd been through countless battles—and was often mistaken for 'the other woman'—could easily sense the jealousy radiating from Sophie Mo.

Rona thought about it seriously—she'd been pretty well-behaved lately and hadn't gotten close to any men, right?

Maybe Sophie was actually jealous of Cecilia?

Wow, this is some pretty entertaining jealousy.

Cecilia was totally oblivious to the rivalry between Sophie and Rona—she just smiled and apologized.

"It's fine, we're not in a rush. Let's go," Charles Yin said with a gentle smile.

Just as everyone was about to get in the car, Alex hurried over and handed the phone to Charles, whispering, "It's a call from Madam."

Cecilia immediately looked up.

There weren't many people Alex would call 'Madam.'

Sure enough, as soon as Charles took the call, he greeted, "Mom, what's up?"

Was it his mother-in-law?

Cecilia suddenly realized that, though she'd been married to Charles for days, she'd never actually met her mother-in-law...

As Charles listened to the call, his face grew darker and darker—it sounded like the conversation wasn't going well!

Suddenly, someone shouted, "Oh no, someone's on the roof! Someone's going to jump!"

Startled, Cecilia instinctively looked up!

She saw someone actually sitting on the edge of the rooftop, legs dangling over the side, looking dangerously close to falling!

And the person on the roof was none other than Sylvia Ran!
