Not Afraid at All

The page was gone.

It vanished completely with a single refresh.

"If that guy really is from the Immortal Martial Continent, there's no way he'd get knocked out and dragged off by a psychiatrist's stick."

Evan Lin kept refreshing several times, but it was like that news had never existed.

Any cultivator who can use a magic artifact with a spirit stone embedded in it must have reached Foundation Establishment.

His head shouldn't be that fragile.

"What are you looking at? I see you keep refreshing—are you searching for something?"

Eric Wang walked over, tossed Evan a bottle of Coke, and glanced curiously at the computer screen.

"Saw a weird news article." Evan Lin shook his head, still pondering how real that story was.

Maybe I just saw it wrong?

Evan Lin frowned, still deep in thought.

"Weird news?"

Eric Wang leaned nearby: "There's been a lot of weird stuff lately."

"Just a few days ago, I heard someone at the campus mall talking about a guy watching a movie, then suddenly punching a hole right through the wall and running out."

"Maybe some martial artist just went crazy. It's possible."

Eric Wang's expression grew a bit strange as he talked about these things.

He couldn't really tell what was going on either.

But all these incidents could still be explained.

Honestly, if someone reached Pointing-to-Mystery or even just Vajra level, or was late-stage Internal Strength, smashing through a wall would be easy.

Evan Lin browsed a few more news sites, but found nothing else strange.

Ordinary martial artists are usually very restrained.

Nobody knows what triggered those people.

If Evan Lin can't figure something out, he just stops thinking about it. Instead, he started considering when he could find time to go to Beijing.

A few days passed quickly.

Autumn Zheng called.

"In a couple days, I'm planning to take Henderson back to Oceanport for a visit. Want to come along?"

Autumn Zheng got straight to the point.

"Isn't it a bit soon to meet the parents?" Evan Lin was stunned. "Besides, whether I go or not doesn't really matter for your business."

"It's not really meeting the parents. We're just going for fun, and it's been a while since you went back. Grandpa and Grandma miss you."

Autumn Zheng thought for a moment. "Also, Henderson said he wants to talk with you more."

Thinking about how Leon Zheng helped him acquire the airline last time, Evan Lin realized he hadn't seen him in person yet, so he agreed without hesitation.

The last class on Friday afternoon ended.

Evan Lin and Autumn Zheng met in front of the teaching building.

Henderson waited outside the campus gate. When he saw Evan Lin again, he was super enthusiastic, shaking Evan's hand nonstop.

"Henderson's been asking me a lot about you these days. Now he's got a much clearer idea of your grades."

Autumn Zheng worried Henderson might say something inappropriate, so she smoothed things over in advance.

"You're a top student—probably don't need my recommendation. You could definitely get into Oxford on your own."

Henderson said with a smile, his golden hair shining in the sunlight.

"Let's just take a taxi to the high-speed rail station. No need to drive."

Autumn Zheng suggested.

The three of them hopped in a taxi and took the high-speed rail back to Oceanport.

Henderson talked nonstop the whole way, polite and upbeat, radiating positive energy.

Evan Lin barely said a word or bothered to respond.

Autumn Zheng listened politely and warmly, but at most she just didn't dislike him.

Evan Lin glanced at Henderson, who just wouldn't stop talking.

This foreigner was way more talkative than Azure Dragon.

Azure Dragon was the type who wouldn't say a word all day, while Henderson could chatter endlessly by himself.

"If Azure Dragon had even half of Henderson's enthusiasm, he wouldn't be a lonely old bachelor."

That thought flashed through Evan Lin's mind.

Kind of interesting.

They arrived in Oceanport.

Back at the Zheng estate.

Old Master Zheng and the others had heard the news ahead of time and were waiting at home.

"Xiao Yi, it's been so long! You look thinner." Old Madam Zheng immediately came up to Evan Lin, grabbed his hand, and looked at him with heartfelt concern. "Nobody's bullying you out there, right?"

"If anyone bullies you, just tell me. I'll have your uncles tidy them up!"

Old Madam Zheng said with absolute confidence.

"Nobody's bullying me."

Evan Lin let her hold his hand and replied with a smile.

"Is this Autumn's classmate from Oxford?"

Old Master Zheng looked at Henderson.

"Hello, Uncle." Henderson was great with people—he greeted them without the slightest hesitation.

Faye Zheng stood a bit behind the crowd, watching Evan Lin with bright, happy eyes.

"Leon and the others are still at the company, but I've already called them. They'll all be back for dinner tonight."

"Hanshan will be back tonight too."

They all entered the Zheng estate together.

Leon Zheng came back a little after six. When he saw Evan Lin, he nodded at him.

He was never good at expressing his feelings.

But when Hanshan Zheng returned, he gave Evan Lin a thorough once-over and looked very pleased.

Henderson was a smooth talker, impeccable in manners, and with his high IQ and impressive background, he quickly won over the whole Zheng family.

By nine in the evening...

Autumn Zheng and the others were still chatting in the living room.

Evan Lin stepped outside and sat in the courtyard.

Not long after, Faye Zheng followed him out.

"Why don't you go in and chat more? That guy might be your future brother-in-law."

Evan Lin teased her.

"I don't recognize that kind of brother-in-law."

Faye Zheng shook her head, then frowned and glanced quietly at the brightly lit hall. "I just feel..."

"Feel what?"

"I feel like that guy is really off. He makes me uncomfortable, just like the guy Liana Zheng brought home last time."

Mentioning Liana Zheng instantly darkened Faye Zheng's mood.

Liana Zheng's life was completely ruined by the Blood Clan.

Last time, if Evan Lin hadn't been there, the entire Zheng family might have been wiped out.

"Yeah, I don't like him either," Evan Lin said indifferently. "He reeks of blood—so strong it's nauseating."

Faye Zheng was stunned, staring wide-eyed at Evan Lin.

"Don't look at me like that. Relax, nothing will happen as long as I'm here."

Evan Lin patted her head.

"You already knew, and still brought him back?"

Faye Zheng looked confused.

"This one's just a small fry. The real elder is still behind him."

Evan Lin shook his head. "Grass cut in the wind keeps growing back—better to pull it out by the roots."

"Didn't the last Blood Clan guy who came mention some Dark Sacred Court Holy Lord?"

"Let him come—I'll cook them all in one pot."

Evan Lin stretched lazily as night fell.

Faye Zheng stared blankly at him, then couldn't help but laugh. Deep down, she suddenly felt at ease.

Not afraid at all.
