Evan Chu and his group were drinking leisurely at Golden Ram Tower, chatting about some of the items expected at the upcoming auction. Two in particular caught Evan's interest.
One was a stone called the Moonshadow Stone, the other a spiritual herb named Nirvana Herb. The Moonshadow Stone was useful for entering the Netherworld, while the Nirvana Herb was crucial for the Sword Spirit Luna—if she obtained it, restoring her physical body would become much easier.
Because of Serena Dream, Evan and Soaring Feather Young Lord Ethan barely spoke; Voidheart Young Lord was not much of a talker either, saying less than five sentences from start to finish. Unrivaled Young Lord, on the other hand, was the most talkative, keeping the conversation flowing nonstop.
In the end, they agreed to visit Freewind Palace together as guests after the auction. Evan naturally accepted—when it came to the Gold Spirit Pearl, even a dragon’s den couldn’t stop him.
From start to finish, Serena Dream spoke to Evan with cold, cutting words, clearly wanting him to give up for good. Evan didn’t care in the slightest—if not for the Gold Spirit Pearl and her Gold Yin Constitution, he’d barely bother with her at all.
So what if she was a Saintess? Every one of his women was a peerless beauty—having one more or less made no difference. But Lynne Nie, on the other hand, was especially interested in Evan, constantly peppering him with questions, which left him rather helpless.
After several rounds of drinks, everyone returned to their rooms, which had already been prepared in advance. Serena Dream and Lynne Nie shared a room; though both were Saintesses, they were also very close friends.
“Serena, what do you think of Young Lord Peak?” Lynne Nie asked bluntly.
“Not much. His identity is mysterious and his strength is terrifying—we don’t know his background at all. I suspect everything he said was a lie. There’s a good chance he’s from that most mysterious place,” Serena Dream replied.
Lynne Nie glanced at Serena Dream. “You mean he might be from the Dark Sanctuary? That’s a bit far-fetched, isn’t it?”
Clearly, after hearing Serena Dream’s theory, Lynne Nie also felt it was possible. Maybe only a place like the Dark Sanctuary could produce someone like Evan Chu, and she couldn’t help but feel a bit uneasy.
“There’s no such thing as impossible. Once we return to Freewind Palace, everything will be clear. Don’t tell me you’re interested in him?” Serena Dream asked.
“Don’t be ridiculous. We don’t even know who he really is—how could I possibly like him? I’m just curious, that’s all. Aren’t you at least a little moved by a guy like that?” Lynne Nie laughed.
“I already have Ethan. Other men might as well not exist in my eyes—there’s no way it could happen,” Serena Dream said.
“But he said he was going to pursue you! You really must be something—he confessed to you the moment you met. I’m so jealous,” Lynne Nie laughed.
“It’s impossible between us. I know a woman can’t marry two men. Right now, with the Dark Sanctuary on the move, we can’t let ourselves get distracted by romance,” Serena Dream said.
But deep down, she felt something she couldn’t describe. Whenever she looked at Evan Chu, her heart would speed up uncontrollably—a feeling she’d never experienced before, and one that made her want to be with him.
“We drank a lot tonight, and that Ice-and-Fire Dual Heaven wine Young Lord Peak made really blew me away. I reek of alcohol—I need a bath. What about you? Want to join me?” Lynne Nie said.
“Why don’t you go first? It’s a bit awkward for two people to bathe together—I’m not used to it,” Serena Dream said.
“What’s there to be afraid of? It’s not like I’m going to eat you. If anyone’s going to eat you, it’ll be your Ethan! Come on, let’s bathe together—then we can talk all night by candlelight.” Lynne Nie said, dragging Serena Dream straight into the private bath area.
Soon, both women’s clothes were off, and two flawless, snow-white bodies appeared in the small bath area. If anyone had witnessed the scene, they’d probably have been so excited their nose would bleed.
“Serena, your skin is so fair, and your figure is absolutely perfect. I thought I was big, but yours is even bigger—is that thanks to your Ethan?” Lynne Nie teased.
Serena Dream blushed and said, “Don’t be ridiculous! We’re perfectly innocent. I won’t let him touch me before we’re married. And stop staring—it’s embarrassing!”
“Hehe, let me see if it’s as soft as I imagined.” With that, Lynne Nie reached out to touch Serena Dream’s generous curves.
Laughter and splashing water filled the room as the two girls played…
Back in his room, Evan Chu took out a vial of green liquid from his storage ring and began absorbing it. After killing the Sacred Sword Sect’s middle-aged man in the forest, his Chaos Dragon Force still hadn’t fully recovered.
In this world where the weak are prey to the strong, every bit of power is a lifeline. After nearly two hours of absorption, Evan’s Chaos Dragon Force was completely restored—and even more abundant than before.
Next, he took out the Fire Dragon Sword. Ever since he’d obtained it, he hadn’t properly communicated with the Fire Dragon King inside—there was a lot of ancient lore he could learn from him.
He calmed his mind and extended his spiritual sense. The moment his mind touched the Fire Dragon Sword, the Fire Dragon King’s voice rang out: “Frostbane, how has your strength gotten so weak? You couldn’t even kill that Divine Martial Realm Eighth-Layer cultivator with Tyrant Cleave—had to rely on me for help.”
Evan found the words annoying and retorted, “That’s still pretty impressive, you know. I’m only at the Fourth Layer of the Divine Martial Realm—being able to kill someone at the Eighth Layer is already pushing the limits. Don’t think I’m still the Frostbane you remember.”
“I was just joking—no need to get so worked up. By the way, why do you want the Gold Spirit Pearl? You haven’t mastered gold-element energy. Freewind Palace isn’t somewhere you can just stroll into, you know. There’s an old monster there who isn’t dead yet—who knows what realm he’s reached by now,” said the Fire Dragon King.
“Fire Dragon King, do you know where I can find Divine Martial Water and Sacred Snow Lotus? I need both urgently,” Evan Chu asked.
“Those two can only be found on the Divine Battlefield. Why do you need them? You know that already, so why ask?” The Fire Dragon King sounded exasperated.
“My memory hasn’t fully recovered yet. How did you fall in battle, anyway? To think you’re just a remnant soul now—pretty unlucky,” Evan Chu said.
“It’s a long story. Back then, many fell on the Divine Battlefield—Demon Lord, Blood Emperor, Nether Monarch Ming, Frostbane… all died in that war. The Vermilion Bird, Black Tortoise, White Tiger, and the Divine Dragon Clan paid a terrible price too.
Only now do I realize we were all being manipulated. That person’s identity was too strange—he could change into anyone at will. We were all provoked into that world-shaking battle. I was never a match for the top experts. Surviving as a remnant soul was pure luck,” said the Fire Dragon King.
Evan Chu didn’t reply—he knew this was the work of the Nether Monarch Ming. He’d heard about him from the Sword Spirit: not of this world, and his strength unfathomable…
