"Sylvia, actually... actually, after I lost the phone you gave me, I—I did try to find you—" Shawn Young saw Sylvia Snow's expression soften, so he put on a pitiful face and boldly kept lying.
Because Shawn Young suddenly remembered Alex Easton's famous words—"Women and girls are completely different types. Women are experienced and hard to handle, but girls are more innocent, so dealing with girls is actually pretty simple—just trick, bluff, and sweet-talk them. If the girl has a thing for you, add a little romance! Works like magic!"
Sure enough, when Shawn Young said that, and with his face looking so 'sincere and guilty,' most of Sylvia Snow's anger vanished in an instant. Still, she pouted her rosy lips and pretended to be angry: "You tried to find me? Then why didn't I know about it?"
"Sigh—here's what happened. I—I found out where you lived, but you weren't there anymore, and I had no idea where to look for you. So I asked around everywhere, and eventually heard you were in Hong Kong—so, as soon as summer break started, I figured out a way to come here and look for you. I can't believe my luck! I actually ran into you here! I'm—I'm so happy—I—I don't even know what to say!" Shawn Young kept lying, and because his story was so exaggerated and full of holes, his face turned a little red and he started stammering.
Sylvia Snow didn't know the truth. Seeing Shawn Young so 'nervous,' she thought he was just excited to suddenly bump into her. Her heart melted instantly, and her anger disappeared completely. She didn't notice how full of holes his story was. Her cute face turned a lovely shade of pink, and she playfully scolded Shawn: "You're so silly—why would you come all the way to Hong Kong just to look for me!?"
"Well, it's because I—I missed you—" Shawn Young hesitated for a moment, then threw out his ultimate move.
"Ah—you missed, missed me!!—You're so annoying—how can you be so direct—hehe—" Sylvia Snow's blush deepened and she shyly scolded Shawn Young, but it was obvious his 'ultimate move' had worked!
"Sylvia—I'm telling the truth, I—I'm not really good with words—you know that—" Shawn Young kept up his 'combo attack,' because he could tell Sylvia Snow was already moved. Now was definitely the time to strike while the iron was hot!
"Oh come on—I get it, I just think it's weird that you showed up here, that's all—" Sylvia Snow asked him softly, her face full of shyness.
"Uh—well—" Shawn Young was stumped for a second, but then he glanced at Top Dog standing at the street corner and got an idea. He quickly said, "I—I only knew you were in Hong Kong, not where you lived, so I kept looking everywhere. Then I ended up here on Temple Street and asked a fortune-teller for help. He told me that if we were destined, I'd meet you here! So I waited—and I actually ran into you! Sylvia, this is just incredible!"
"Hehe—it's fate—so that's why we met here—" Sylvia Snow said softly, her pretty face blushing and her eyes sparkling with happiness. As the saying goes, 'A young girl's heart is always poetic.' Coming from a privileged family, Sylvia especially loved this kind of 'romantic encounter.'
"Yeah, yeah—Sylvia, looks like we're really meant to be—" Shawn Young said excitedly, gazing at Sylvia Snow's beautiful face. He couldn't believe he ran into her in this huge city. He thought of the time he'd accidentally glimpsed her 'two mischievous white rabbits,' and suddenly felt a rush of excitement. He silently vowed—Little Shawn definitely couldn't let her get away!
"Haha—yeah—there really is something special between us!" Sylvia Snow said, looking straight at Shawn Young, her heart full of tenderness and affection.
The two stared at each other for a while, getting closer and closer, both feeling excited and strangely thrilled. It looked like they were about to hug each other when Top Dog, standing by the street, watched the unbelievable scene, his face changing rapidly and his eyes nearly shooting fire! He couldn't believe his dream girl Sylvia Snow was flirting with some random 'Mainland guy'—they were practically about to hug and go get a room!
The more Top Dog thought about it, the worse he felt. Seeing Shawn Young and Sylvia Snow gazing at each other so affectionately, his heart twisted with jealousy. If he didn't get to the bottom of this, he was going to explode. So he steeled himself and decided to confront Shawn Young and Sylvia Snow about their 'affair!'
Just then, a big crowd walked in from outside. Leading them was a tall, burly man, surrounded by a bunch of young punks. The moment the big guy stepped into the area around the Tin Hau Temple and spotted Shawn Young, his face froze for a second, then lit up with excitement. He rushed over to say hi—just as Top Dog popped out from the street corner, and the two crashed right into each other.
"Bang—thud—" When Top Dog collided with the big guy, his scrawny frame couldn't take it and bounced a few meters away, landing hard on the ground.
"Damn—are you blind? Trying to get yourself killed! Uh—Top Dog? You—what are you doing here?" The big guy was about to curse, but when he saw Top Dog, he was surprised.
"Uh—Fire Bull—hey! I—I just came over to hang out—" Top Dog recognized the big guy as Fire Bull, one of the Hung Brotherhood's top bosses. Turns out, they actually knew each other pretty well!
Fire Bull stepped forward, pulled Top Dog up, patted him on the shoulder, and grinned: "Hehe—Top Dog, you're just in time. Let me introduce you to a VIP—"
"A VIP? Who?" Top Dog was confused.
"Hehe—this VIP is someone you've definitely heard of. Your old man is super close with him and even works for him now—so you should know who I'm talking about, right?!" Fire Bull said, his face full of excitement.
"Huh? You mean Boss Shawn? Where is he?!" Top Dog exclaimed.
"Hahaha—he's right here, closer than you think—look, that dashing, handsome guy over there, isn't that Boss Shawn!" Fire Bull pointed to Shawn Young nearby.
"What?! Boss Shawn is him?? But isn't 'Boss' supposed to mean someone older? How can he be so young? Fire Bull, you gotta be kidding me!" Top Dog cried out, totally in disbelief.
"Whack—" Fire Bull didn't hesitate to slap Top Dog on the forehead, scolding him: "Come on—Darren Yang, you little punk, haven't you ever asked your old man what his boss looks like?"
Top Dog shook his head blankly: "I only know my dad followed some legendary Boss Shawn to build his career, and now it's really successful. But he never told me what Boss Shawn looks like, so I have no idea!"
"Oh—that explains it—well, open your eyes and look carefully. That guy over there, flirting with the girl, that's your dad's boss—Shawn Young, Boss Shawn! Don't mess it up again!" Fire Bull grabbed Top Dog's shoulder and pointed at Shawn Young.
"Waaah—why him, why like this?! He's got the girl I want the most—" Top Dog wailed in despair, feeling like his balls had shattered into a million pieces!
