"Waiting for us?" The man with the pipe was curious.
"Of course. We need someone to explain things for us, so you're the perfect candidate, aren't you? And you just came right to us." Evan Yang smiled.
"Kid, you're still joking when you're about to die? You really have guts." The pipe man snorted coldly. Evan Yang just smiled without saying anything. As for Ember Yang, she roasted those guys in just a few moves.
The pipe man was shocked and cursed, "Useless! You can't even handle a little girl!"
"Boss, we can't do it. She's too strong," the men said one after another.
"Useless, a bunch of useless fools!" the pipe man cursed. He then reached out to grab Evan Yang, trying to capture him, but Evan just smiled. "You couldn't even handle my daughter, and you think you can touch me? You're dreaming."
Evan Yang flickered and disappeared. When he reappeared, he was already behind the pipe man. Evan touched his back and smiled, "Right here."
The man was terrified. Evan Yang's speed was so strange, it exceeded anything he could imagine. He started to panic inside, thinking, "Oh no, did I mess with some powerhouse? Damn, so unlucky."
Knowing he'd messed with someone he shouldn't, the pipe man hurriedly flew forward and shouted to his men, "Hurry up and leave!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the three men looked at each other and quickly tried to run away. But they hadn't gone far before they were stopped by a barrier.
"Don't leave yet, we haven't had a proper chat," Evan Yang said with a smile.
"Brother, we were wrong. We shouldn't have tried to rob you," the pipe man begged for mercy.
"You think just saying you won't rob us makes it true? Who do you think we are?" Ember Yang laughed when she heard this.
"We're sorry, we're sorry!" the pipe man pleaded, and when the other three saw their boss begging, they quickly joined in asking for mercy.
"You three can go." Evan Yang knew catching the leader was enough; the others didn't matter. The three men gratefully left, while the pipe man complained, "Brother, they're gone. Can I leave too?"
"You? Not yet," Evan Yang said with a smile.
"Why? Why not?" the man asked anxiously.
"Because I have some things I need you to tell us. So for now, you can't leave," Evan Yang said with a smile.
The man looked at Evan Yang strangely, but Evan just smiled again. "Didn't I say earlier? We were waiting for you."
The pipe man finally came to his senses and forced a bitter smile. He never expected to get himself into trouble. Helplessly, he said, "What do you want to know? I'll tell you everything I know."
"That's more like it," Evan Yang smiled.
"So what do you want to know?" the pipe man asked curiously.
"Girl, you ask," Evan Yang said to Ember Yang.
Ember Yang nodded, then looked at the pipe man and asked, "What is this place?"
"This place? Of course, it's the Void Plane," the man replied.
"Void Plane? So is this part of the Nether Sky Realm?" Ember Yang continued.
"Yes," the man nodded.
"Dad, I'm done asking. It's your turn." Ember Yang didn't know what else to ask, so she handed it back to Evan Yang. Evan had thought Ember would dig for more gossip—after all, she's a girl and should be curious about lots of things—but it quickly came back to him. "Alright, so this is the Void Plane, part of the Nether Sky Realm. But I'm curious, what is this 'Sleep God' you all talk about?"
"You mean the Sleep God? It's a terrifying creature. Its biggest fear is sound. If there's loud noise anywhere, it gets angry and appears to eat whoever made the noise," the man whispered.
"I don't believe it. There's no such creature in this world. You're definitely lying," Ember Yang said, unconvinced.
"Miss, I'm really not lying. Everyone knows it. You saw it yourself—people in town don't dare speak loudly, that's why," the man said, frustrated at Ember Yang's disbelief.
Ember Yang had no choice but to fall silent. Evan Yang smiled and asked, "What's your name?"
"Me? Everyone calls me Pipe Man," he replied with a bitter smile.
"Pipe Man? That's a pretty strange name, but it suits you," Evan Yang said after looking him over.
At this moment, Pipe Man didn't care how Evan Yang laughed; he just said, "Let me go. I've told you everything I know."
"Alright, you can go," Evan Yang said, and let him leave.
Overjoyed, the man rushed out of Evan Yang's barrier, ready to leave. Ember Yang complained, "Dad, you're just letting them go? If we weren't stronger today, they would've killed us for sure."
"Too much killing isn't good. Know when to stop! That's how this world is. If we killed everyone who meant us harm, we'd be exhausted," Evan Yang said with a smile. The more he advanced in cultivation, the deeper his understanding of killing became. Making someone fear you isn't just about slaughter.
Just as Evan Yang finished speaking and Ember Yang was about to argue, a scream came from ahead.
"Isn't that the voice of the guy from earlier?" Ember Yang was shocked by the miserable scream.
