Heart of Frostflame and the Extreme South

1/19/2026

Evan was flying through the air when he was suddenly frozen into an ice statue—something he’d never expected. He crashed down from the sky with a deafening thud, the impact leaving him dizzy and disoriented.

He never imagined the Heart of Frostflame would possess such terrifying cold—or rather, that the blue flame on it would be so monstrously powerful. For a moment, he felt like he’d just found himself an insanely overpowered weapon. If he were to throw the Heart of Frostflame into the Demon Realm army, the results would be utterly unpredictable.

It was a tempting idea, but right now he had a more urgent problem: breaking out of this shell of Mystic Ice. Evan had been frozen solid once before, but that time Jade Chu and Tom Chu were there—they shoved him into earth-fire and spent decades slowly melting him out.

Who knew how long it would take this time? The thought made him a little anxious. If it ended up being decades again, Chase and Princess Ivy would definitely worry, and there were still matters in the Immortal Realm that needed handling—if something major happened while he was gone, it could be disastrous.

But panicking wouldn’t help. He had to calm down and figure out how to break this Mystic Ice. Right now, the only tool at his disposal was Heavenfire—nothing else would work.

The two Ice Beasts nearby were also trapped in Mystic Ice, but the ice locking them down was starting to crack and creak. Both monsters were gearing up to break free with brute force.

Seeing this, Evan felt a jolt of alarm. He focused and immediately activated Fireshift; blazing Heavenfire erupted around him, instantly wrapping him in a terrifying cocoon of flame. Sure enough, the temperature was insane—the Mystic Ice binding him began to melt rapidly.

After about an hour, the space around Evan loosened up enough that he could finally move his arms and legs. Just then, a thought struck him, and a wry smile appeared on his face.

“Honestly, I was way too impatient. Last time I got stuck in Mystic Ice, it was because my Watershift hadn’t advanced—I couldn’t merge into the ice. But now I’ve broken through to the third layer of Watershift, so I can totally blend into this Mystic Ice, or even pass straight through it. How stupid can I get?” Evan muttered to himself.

He immediately activated Watershift, quickly merging his body into the Mystic Ice and slipping right out. It was downright magical. Meanwhile, the two Ice Beasts were still struggling away, showing no sign of catching on.
