Who Is the Fourth Person

12/19/2025

Within less than half an incense stick’s time, Joe Di had already refined six Nine-Veined Supreme Elixirs and embedded them into the stone gate of Harmony Hall’s fourth chamber.

After a series of thunderous booms, the fourth chamber of Harmony Hall was opened.

Just as Joe Di had anticipated, seventy-two Supreme Immortal Spirit Veins were placed within the grand hall.

Before Joe Di could even step through the doorway, an endless surge of heaven and earth’s essence swept over him. Although this essence was not as potent as that of the Azure Essence Vein, the sheer concentration of Supreme Immortal Spirit Veins gathered here made the energy overwhelming, leaving Joe Di feeling waves of comfort throughout his body.

These Supreme Immortal Spirit Veins were exactly what Joe Di needed most. In nearly a single stride, he reached the center of Harmony Hall.

At the center of these seventy-two Supreme Immortal Spirit Veins, there was also a box placed.

The moment he saw the box, Joe Di’s heart surged with excitement. In the third chamber, he had obtained the Elemental Veil technique. Since this box was in the fourth chamber, its contents would surely surpass even the Elemental Veil. The Elemental Veil was already a top-tier movement technique—anything above that would be truly extraordinary...

The more Joe Di thought about it, the more certain he felt that he had made the right choice coming here.

Naturally, he didn’t go for the Supreme Immortal Spirit Veins first, but instead grabbed the box and opened it directly—he was desperate to know what was inside.

As soon as the box was opened, a Dao rune that could not be seen by the naked eye, nor sensed by divine sense, instantly wrapped around Joe Di.

At this moment, every meridian in Joe Di’s body was permeated by the Dao rune—even his Spiritual Sea was thoroughly infiltrated, leaving no place untouched. As the Dao rune seeped in, a mysterious cultivation art was automatically inscribed into Joe Di’s Spiritual Sea. Thanks to the strength of his Spiritual Sea, he remained conscious; if it had been any weaker, he might have fainted on the spot.

Then, a majestic voice echoed deep within Joe Di’s Spiritual Sea: “You have reached the final chamber of Harmony Hall—very impressive. I, the Sage, will accept you as my fifth disciple. As for the cultivation art, I have already passed it to you. How far you go from here depends on your own ability; it is not something your master can teach you. The Supreme Immortal Spirit Veins are my gift to you for our first meeting."

If, in the future, you reach the Ninth-Level Immortal Lord, you will be qualified to meet me. Inside the jade box are two talismans—one white, one black. If you crush the white talisman, four people will come here to seek you. If all five of you enter Harmony Hall and crush the black talisman, you will ascend to the Dao Domain and meet me. My Dao name is Jaden Dai—remember it well.”

Jaden Dai—it was actually Jaden Dai.

Only now did Joe Di understand that Harmony Hall had been established by Jaden Dai, and its purpose was to gather the fortune of the Four Immortal Realms. But why was he seeking a fifth person to crush the black and white talismans? Joe Di was the fifth person Jaden Dai sought, yet he couldn’t offer any help to Jaden Dai at all.

However, with a shift of thought, Joe Di stopped pondering further.

His body was already being permeated by a terrifying Dao rune, which seeped into his bones, flesh, and even his Spiritual Sea every moment.

Joe Di cultivated the Rule Dao and was extraordinarily proficient in the laws of heaven and earth.

If this Dao rune’s infiltration continued, he would eventually become a puppet—able to move, think, and even comprehend as normal, but once the master of the rune appeared, he would become nothing more than that person’s dog. No, worse than a dog. At least a dog can resist; under this rune’s control, he would lose even the ability to rebel.

What a vicious technique! Joe Di was certain that if he hadn’t cultivated the Rule Dao, he’d be doomed. Even with the Rule Dao, had he not encountered this type of Dao rune before, his fate would have been grim.

He had encountered this Dao rune once before—on the Realmshatter Talisman given to him by Qu Hen, the president of the Grand Cauldron Alchemy Conference.

The Toxic Rune on that Realmshatter Talisman nearly killed him in the void, and he only survived after falling to Earth, thanks to Nong Xiuqi, who perfected his Rule Dao heart and helped him completely strip away the Toxic Rune.

The Dao rune here, while originating from the same source as the previous Toxic Rune, was far more powerful.

Joe Di took a deep breath and sat cross-legged, activating the Rule Cycle at full force. In less than an incense stick’s time, he had stripped away countless invisible Dao runes and infused them into a piece of white jade.

Once the Dao runes were removed, Joe Di felt waves of relief wash over his body.

He recalled how many years he’d struggled—and nearly lost his life—just to strip away a single Toxic Rune before. Now, in less than an incense stick’s time, he had cleared every Dao rune from his body.

Perhaps next time, all it would take is a single thought for these Dao runes to vanish without a trace.

This experience made Joe Di realize a crucial lesson: no matter how tempting the treasure or how safe the place, he must never let down his guard and just rush forward to open a box. He survived today thanks to his Rule Dao—and because he’d already been ambushed by such a Dao rune once before. What if the next danger was different?

After thoroughly checking his body several times and confirming there were no lingering problems, Joe Di placed the white jade into a jade box, wrapped it with layers of restriction seals, and put the box away.

Without hesitation, Joe Di swept all seventy-two Supreme Immortal Spirit Veins into his Ninth World.

Jaden Dai said that as long as one reached the Ninth-Level Immortal Lord, they could meet him—but that was clearly nonsense. Anyone capable of reaching Harmony Hall’s fourth chamber would certainly attain the Ninth-Level Immortal Lord.

But who were the other four people Jaden Dai was looking for? Were they the ones who had gathered the Immortal Realm’s fortune?

Joe Di pondered for a moment, then examined the white talisman repeatedly. He was certain about two of them: Ethan Yun and Riley Thunder. If he crushed the talisman, anyone among the four who hadn’t been killed by him would surely appear here. As for why—if Jaden Dai couldn’t even manage that, he wouldn’t have left behind these two talismans.

Still, Joe Di decided caution was best. He placed the talisman in Harmony Hall’s fourth chamber, sealed it with a Rule Array, and set up a trigger formation before leaving Harmony Hall.

Harmony Hall belonged to Jaden Dai, and every extra minute Joe Di spent inside felt torturous.

After leaving Harmony Hall, Joe Di used the Rule Array to remotely crush the white talisman.

Boom! A violent roar erupted through the void, followed by a burst of white light. A vortex-shaped teleportation funnel appeared before Joe Di.

Joe Di extended his divine sense, only to have it swept away by the vortex, vanishing without a trace.

Joe Di cursed Jaden Dai for his cunning—if he had followed Jaden Dai’s instructions and crushed the white talisman himself, he would be doomed, instantly teleported away. As for waiting for the other four to arrive, that was wishful thinking.

Soon, though, Joe Di sensed from the rule aura around the white light teleportation array that if he hadn’t stripped away the Dao runes from his body, even if he triggered the white talisman by other means, he would still be swept into the teleportation array.

Worried that someone might rush in and get caught by the teleportation array, Joe Di set up a law defense array around the white light, preventing outsiders from entering. He waited outside to see who would show up.

If his guess was right, Nate Shee, Ethan Yun, and Riley Thunder were three of them—but who would be the fourth?

(That’s all for today’s update—good night, friends!)
