Peter Pingshan Returns to China with Amy

1/4/2026

At this time, Jiro Hirayama, far away in the Southern Hemisphere, finally completed his part of the experiment.

He was ready to return to China.

Captain Hans came over specially to see Jiro off.

The two of them muttered in the lab for a long time. When Hans came out, he was grinning from ear to ear, obviously overjoyed.

Clearly, he had gained a lot from Jiro Hirayama.

How could a top biochemistry expert not have good stuff on hand?

First, the Man-Eater Tree was left for Hans's Base, which basically made it part of the Field Base.

Secondly, Jiro Hirayama conducted so many experiments and collected so much firsthand data; Hans would definitely get a copy.

Finally, Hans had so many enemies and needed plenty of self-defense gadgets. With Jiro around, these problems were solved—he tossed all kinds of protective treasures to Hans as if they were free.

That's also why Hans generously allocated a Field Base for Jiro Hirayama to conduct experiments.

None of these people are easy to deal with.

Jiro Hirayama also got a lot of good stuff from Hans. Before leaving, he asked Hans if he could take Amy with him as his assistant.

As expected, Hans didn’t care about minor agents like her at all and agreed with a wave of his hand.

When Amy heard she could leave the base, she was so excited she was trembling all over.

Since she would never make it into the base’s inner circle or become Captain Hans’s right-hand woman, leaving early was just as well.

Still, even if she was leaving, she was technically still part of the base.

In other words, if she dared betray the base and leak its secrets, Hans would never let her live.

So Amy happily packed a pile of luggage and followed Jiro Hirayama back to the country.

Rona Muir was waiting outside the airport to pick them up.

From far away, she saw Jiro Hirayama sprinting toward her.

Before Rona Muir could respond, Jiro Hirayama eagerly pulled a specimen of dried flowers out of his bag and looked at her expectantly. "Look, this is for you."

Rona Muir took the gift from Jiro Hirayama, feeling both amused and helpless.

Although the gift was a bit modest, for someone as straightforward as Jiro Hirayama to remember to do something like this was a big step forward.

So Rona Muir graciously accepted it with a smile. "It's beautiful. I really like it."

Jiro Hirayama seemed relieved, looking proud as he glanced admiringly at Amy.

Clearly, the idea had come from Amy.

Amy took the initiative to greet Rona Muir. "Ms. Muir, it's been a while."

Rona Muir smiled and nodded to Amy. "Hello, Amy. Welcome to China."

Amy's face lit up with excitement. "Thank you! I won't interrupt your reunion. I've already booked a hotel, so if you need anything, just let me know."

With that, Amy tactfully wheeled her suitcase away before Rona Muir could ask her to stay.
