With a thunderous roar, cheers erupted all around as a massive surge of energy swept toward me. Surrounding us were numerous high-ranking Asuras. Lee Li was already locked in combat with an Asura slightly smaller than himself.
The battle was exceptionally fierce. For reasons I couldn’t explain, a sense of longing welled up inside me—a strange joy at the sight of such combat. I didn’t know what they were fighting for, but I couldn’t help feeling exhilarated.
The fight on the stage was brutally intense. Both fighters were nearly spent, trading blows and dodging relentlessly. Only by knocking down the opponent could one claim victory.
Suddenly, Lee Li seized on his opponent’s mistake. In a flash, his six fists broke through the opponent’s defenses. Only the flurry of fist shadows and the deafening roar could be seen—the fight was over. The other Asura was covered in fist marks and had lost consciousness completely.
Lee Li shouted in excitement and left the center of the arena amid the surrounding cheers of congratulations.
“How was that, Ethan Zhang? Impressive, right?”
Lee Li and I returned to his home for a while. He wore an excited grin, but once we got back, he didn’t continue training—instead, he collapsed directly onto the floor, looking utterly exhausted and clearly badly injured.
“Are you alright?”
I asked, and Lee Li shook his head, smiling as he replied.
“It’s just a minor injury. I’ll be fine in a few days. Here, even if someone is seriously hurt, they recover in a matter of days. You’ll soon be one of us.”
“What do you mean?”
I stared in shock, my eyes wide.
“If you stay in this world long enough, your body will start to generate Asura Power. Eventually, you’ll slowly transform from a ghost or human into an Asura.”
I raised my hands anxiously.
“Is there any way to keep me from turning into an Asura?”
Lee Li looked at me in confusion, then smiled and shook his head.
“There’s no way. The moment you set foot in the Asura Realm, you can’t escape the Path of Asura.”
“What do I have to do to get out?”
I asked immediately—I couldn’t just sit and wait for death. Lee Li shook his head again.
“You can’t travel because there’s another power inside you—it’s not Asura. Wherever you want to go, I’ll take you.”
I nodded. I wanted Lee Li to take me to the main gathering spot for the Asuras.
But Lee Li was still in bad shape. We’d have to wait until he recovered before we could act.
I started checking my own Specter Web. There was a slight change—one part of my ghost soul had become very hard, almost like a stone lodged inside it.
I decided to enter my instinct space. After sitting quietly for a while, my consciousness faded away.
“Ethan, things aren’t looking good.”
I had just entered my instinct space when the Spirit Snake called out anxiously.
“What’s going on?”
“Your ghost soul is already starting to change. You can’t keep fighting those Asuras—otherwise, you’ll turn into one. And because your instinct is coexistence, you’ll easily accept the Asura Power here.”
I looked at the Spirit Snake in confusion and asked.
“What exactly is Asura Power? Do you know something about it?”
“How should I put it? Besides the Sanzu Force, the other three paths were originally the Three Virtuous Paths. But at a certain point, the Asura Path began to change—they stopped fighting only among themselves and started waging battles outward.”
As the Spirit Snake spoke, my other ghost souls gathered around. The Desire Ghost smiled sweetly.
“Ethan, I can sense it. Everyone here is violent—all they think about is fighting. You’d better be careful.”
I nodded, and the Spirit Snake continued.
When the Six Paths of Reincarnation were first established, there were only five. But to complete the vast system of the Six Paths, a part of the Divine Law had to be separated out. In the beginning, it wasn’t entirely pure—there were traces of impurity, and those impurities became the Asura Path. Although kind at heart, they were obsessed with combat and possessed a fierce will to fight, with overwhelming anger.
The power of the Divine Law is absolute—untouchable. After the Asura Path formed, it helped mediate the friction between Divine Law and the Human Realm. But those who fell into the Asura Path spent their days in endless, meaningless battles.
Eventually, the Asura King, embodiment of the Asura Path, lost interest and turned his gaze to the Divine Law, beginning to challenge its authority.
Soon, the Asura Path was excluded from the Three Virtuous Paths. Though not evil by nature, the Asuras were no longer considered virtuous. The Asura Path became both righteous and wicked—transforming into evil for the sake of combat, caring nothing for the world around them.
But before the absolute might of the Divine Law, the Asura Path was utterly defeated. Unwilling to accept this, the Asura Path turned its sights on the Living World, seeking to dominate humanity. If they could suppress the Human Realm and increase the number of Asuras, they believed they would one day surpass the Divine Law and become supreme among the Six Paths.
“But for reasons unknown, the plan failed. The Divine Law forever imprisoned the Asura Path. You may have seen many Asuras, but only once every few decades or centuries does a person or ghost qualify to enter the Asura Path. And once inside, they can never leave—the Divine Law holds them captive.”
I nodded.
“Do you know how to find the Asura King?”
The Spirit Snake shook its head. As an ancient sacred spirit of the Twelve Earthly Branches, the Spirit Snake seemed to know a lot. I wanted to learn more.
Just then, the Deathbane Ghost stepped forward, smiling.
“Accepting Asura Power isn’t a bad thing. You’ll become stronger—as long as you keep things in balance. If you can balance your ghost power, Deathbane Aura, and Asura Power, your strength will increase rapidly. You’ve seen the power of Yin Choujian’s steward, haven’t you?”

I nodded. There was no doubt about Zhuang Bo’s power. But now the Spirit Snake was staring coldly at the Deathbane Ghost, while the Yin Ghost walked over with a sneer, placing a hand on the Deathbane Ghost’s shoulder.
“Teaching Ethan to do this is fine—it’ll give him tremendous power in the short term. But he’ll never be human again. That’s fatal for him.”
My eyes widened and I swallowed. The Deathbane Ghost shook his head helplessly.
“To become stronger, you have to give something up—even if it means never being human again...”
I smiled and shook my head, thinking of Sylvia—my daughter with Rachel Lan.
“Sorry, Deathbane Ghost. I’ll never give up becoming human again, no matter how long it takes. I’ll find a way—and grow old with Rachel Lan.”
“Then there’s no other way. Just remember—don’t keep fighting the Asuras. Leave the Asura Realm as soon as possible.”
The Deathbane Ghost spoke, but at that moment I felt a tremor from the outside. All my ghost souls turned pale.
“Something’s wrong, Ethan.”
“What is it?”
The Spirit Snake’s eyes turned bright red.
“It’s that Revenant. The Revenant is here.”
“Tan Tian?”
Immediately, my consciousness began to blur. I planned to leave right away.
When I opened my eyes again, Li Li was already standing, staring gravely at the distant, floating Battle Isle.
“What’s wrong?”
“I sense something deeply repulsive. Let’s go check it out.”
Li Li grabbed my shoulder, and in an instant, we were at the edge of the isle’s viewing platform. I looked over in shock—Tan Tian was standing in the center, and two Asuras preparing to fight walked up to him.
“Where did you come from, you—”
With a swoosh, a high-level Asura tried to touch Tan Tian, but in an instant, all six of his arms were severed and three heads torn off. The Asura behind him, furious, raised his fist to strike.
Bang! Bang! Tan Tian was now standing atop the Asura’s outstretched fist, gripping one of the Asura’s heads. With a roar, the Asura exploded completely.
Chaos erupted instantly. The Asuras shouted and charged at Tan Tian. Though Li Li was injured, he still intended to rush forward.
Bang! Bang! Tan Tian looked expressionlessly at the dozens of Asuras attacking him. His body turned to dust and flew off in an instant.
With a whoosh, I felt a wild wind sweep past. The Asuras all froze in midair, motionless.
“Dust Manifest.”
When I saw Tan Tian again, he was already standing before me. With a crunch, all the Asuras in the sky instantly turned to yellow dust, shattering and scattering.
“I sensed you coming, so I hurried over, Ethan Zhang.”
“What’s the real purpose of the Dark Banquet?”
I asked immediately, but Tan Tian didn’t answer—he just stared at me.
“Is that all you came here to ask?”
I nodded. I was no match for him—not even a one-in-ten-thousand chance.
“Tell me—how do I get back, Ethan Zhang?”
Tan Tian demanded sharply. I shook my head.
“I came here to find Mr. Brown. Where is he?”
Tan Tian still didn’t answer. Just then, more Asuras appeared—both mid-level and low-level. Tom Peng roared.
“You—enemy of the Asura Path!”
“Annoying flies.”
Tan Tian said coldly. As he turned his head, with a whoosh, I saw a purple-black beast suddenly leap out.
“Devourer Beast.”
In just a few seconds, the Asuras had no chance to resist—they were all swallowed by the beast.
Then, black-and-white ripples appeared in the sky, and a beam of black light shot down.
With a boom, an Asura nearly two meters tall appeared—massively built, with six thick arms, clad in armor, long curly hair, and a furious expression: the Asura King.
