"She’s really that strong?" The second Lucian said it, Ivy Shen’s heart did a full-on panic flip—seriously, why did she suddenly feel like a boss battle was coming?
"Her poison’s like, ten times deadlier than mine. So you and Bookworm—run, and don’t stop running!" Lucian Vane shot Liam Willow a look. "She’s your problem now. Protect her!" For once, Lucian had to face his own feelings. He’d always thought he was just bickering with Iceberg, but after these days, he realized he was totally hooked on Ivy’s wild laughter, her dramatic tears, her epic tantrums, and that galaxy-brain imagination.
Adrian Night just shot Ivy Shen a cold, silent look. Classic Iceberg—no words, just that unreadable stare.
"Aww, so touching. Shame none of you are leaving alive!" Silver Consort cackled, then launched herself at them. Liam Willow grabbed Ivy and bolted like a terrified bunny, dragging her away at top speed—zero hesitation, max panic.
"Seriously? You scrubs think you can handle me?" Silver Consort scoffed, busting out moves that looked straight-up illegal.
Adrian Night, Lucian Vane, and Lynn dove into the fray like a chaotic superhero squad, while the rest hung back to wrangle the black-clad assassins.
"Heads up!" Lucian Vane shouted. Silver Consort’s poison needles zipped at them like lightning. Adrian Night moved freakishly fast, yanking Lynn aside—Lynn nearly faceplanted as the needles stabbed straight into a tree.
Instantly, the big green tree shriveled up like a bad salad—yikes, that poison was next-level scary. Even Ivy gulped.
"Ha! You call that fighting? I’ll knock your teeth out so hard you’ll be picking them up off the ground!" Silver Consort snarked, and with one palm strike, all three hit the dirt, blood spraying everywhere—guess they really would be picking up their teeth.
Silver Consort spun down from above like a diva on stage. "I’m ranked second in Jianghu, and you kids barely have fur—think you can take me?" She looked down, pure contempt on her face.
The three exchanged a look—yep, they were totally doomed, but hey, might as well go down swinging. They charged again, knowing full well this was a boss fight they probably couldn’t win.
"Say hi to the King of Hell for me!" Silver Consort roared. Before Adrian Night or Lynn could even blink, a spray of hair-thin silver needles shot from her white hair—seriously, was this a final boss attack?!
"Move!" Lucian Vane yelled, shoving Adrian Night aside and literally tanking the needles himself. He hit the ground hard—hero move, or just nuts?
"Lucian!" Adrian Night rushed to grab him, hands shaking as Lucian coughed up another mouthful of blood—red everywhere.
"I’m taking you down with me!" Lynn yelled, charging Silver Consort head-on. Ivy’s jaw dropped—was he nuts or just super brave?
"Lynn, get back!" Adrian Night shouted, but it was way too late—Lynn was already flying at Silver Consort like a kamikaze squirrel. Ivy’s heart did another panic flip.
"Pathetic!" Silver Consort rolled her eyes so hard you could almost hear it. She never bothered with weaklings.
"Alright, next!" Silver Consort flashed a wicked grin and made a clawing gesture—her fingers curled like she was about to snatch their heads. Creepy.
Just as Silver Consort closed in, a huge "Bang!" exploded—white smoke everywhere! Caleb Miles, the ultimate ninja-nerd, swooped in and grabbed Adrian Night, Lucian Vane, and Colin Kerr, hauling them out before Silver Consort could even blink.
