Ethan Zhang, why did you hire such a cute little girl to help out in your shop?
I smiled quietly as I worked. Heavenly Soul helped me wash dishes in the back, while Sylvia Blue was in charge of delivering food to customers. In just two days, the number of customers in the shop skyrocketed. Many came just to catch a glimpse of the cute girl working here.
Heavenly Soul covered his face with a veil, quietly working in the back.
"Sylvia Blue..."
I called out, and Sylvia Blue reluctantly walked over from a table of customers. She would often go over to chat and joke with the guests, sometimes sneaking a bite to eat. The customers all liked Sylvia Blue.
"Oh come on, what's wrong with having a little to eat? I'm starving."
"I'll make you some extra food later, just work hard."
Sylvia Blue grumbled as she took the food I'd grilled and carried it away. Watching her back, I felt a surge of emotion—this might be something Sylvia Blue had never experienced before: a normal life in human society. Perhaps in the future, Sylvia Blue would hear stories about this from Ethan Zhang, but she had never seen it, never lived it, only imagined it.
Finally, the day ended. We worked late into the night. Sylvia Blue sat on a chair, looking helpless, having already cleaned off a table, and asked me for lots of food.
"No way. Based on how much you worked today, three dishes at most."
"Only three dishes? Wait, that's not right. I brought you way more than that."
I still made Sylvia Blue three heaping plates of barbecue, but she complained about my stinginess while eating.
Heavenly Soul and I started drinking. Now, he had fully separated from my body and was a complete individual. The injuries he'd suffered before were quite serious, and I hadn't fully recovered yet. He didn't look well either, especially moving around in this darkness—it seemed some force was restricting him, making it hard to act freely. Even flying had become difficult.
"I never expected this feeling—it's incredible. Turns out, moving in this darkness slowly gets sealed off."
Earthly Soul said this just as Sylvia Blue finished a plate, scrunching her nose at me and making faces. I chose to ignore her, having already told her that if she wanted good food, she'd have to work hard.
Soon, Sylvia Blue finished eating, licked her lips, yawned, and quietly lay on the table, watching Heavenly Soul and me drink.
"Is alcohol really that good?"
I hummed in response.
"It's really good. You're still young—maybe you'll understand when you're older."
As I spoke, Sylvia Blue grunted and lay down on the table, ready to sleep. Soon, she drifted off. I gently picked her up—she was light and soft, with a faint fragrance. I carried her to the bench behind the counter, covered her with a blanket, and sat back down.
"What do you think about her, Ethan Zhang?"
I hummed and nodded.
"Why did you let Sylvia Blue come here? Maybe I understand now. She's still a child—even though she's already eighteen. After all, the future holds nothing, just dust."
Heavenly Soul sighed helplessly.
"It feels really nice right now."
I looked at him in surprise, and he quickly added:
"Emotionally, it feels good. Like there's a bit of color now, instead of pure white."
After a while drinking, we quietly began tidying up.
Early the next morning, the three of us went out to buy groceries. Sylvia Blue saw all the food and was as excited as a child, looking at everything, touching everything—so many things she had never seen or tasted before.
"I want this one, Ethan Zhang."
"I want this one, Ethan Zhang."
Sylvia Blue thought for a moment, then replied.
"Just eggs!"
Those days were joyful and lasted for a whole week. Every day, I made different dishes for Sylvia Blue. At night, after she'd finished working, I'd prepare barbecue for her, and during the day, I'd take her around some shops and buy her clothes.
After closing up at night, the three of us would eat and drink for a while, then head out of the city. Both Heavenly Soul and I had almost fully recovered, and tonight we could have a fight. The battle could only take place in my Ghost Domain, otherwise the power of darkness would suppress Heavenly Soul's strength.
Once inside the Ghost Domain, my eight ghost spirits emerged. Sylvia Blue quickly became familiar with them. We stood together on the rooftop, while Heavenly Soul and I moved to the open space on the left side of the building, quietly facing each other.
I was pondering what exactly Heavenly Soul's power was. I recalled that feeling during the Ghost Rakshasa incident—a surge of pure energy entered my body, causing a mutation, allowing me to wield both human and ghost powers simultaneously.
"My power comes from the Divine Law."
At that moment, Heavenly Soul spoke. I looked at him in surprise. He nodded, then slowly floated upward, a white sword—just like Belle—appeared in his hand. I immediately raised both hands, gripping my black Death Aura sword.
As far as I could remember, I'd never seen Heavenly Soul fight before, nor did I know his fighting style. My mind was full of questions.
"We can start now, Ethan Zhang."
I hummed in response, planning to test him first. With a whoosh and a burst of Death Aura, I flew at Heavenly Soul, slashing with my twin Death Aura swords. He raised his sword to block.
With a hum, I felt the space around me compress. Suddenly, a huge repulsive force blasted me away, sending me crashing to the ground and leaving a dent. I quietly watched Heavenly Soul drift toward me, his sword held lightly in his hand.
"What just happened?"
I immediately raised my twin swords and charged again. With a hum, my Death Aura sword was repelled before even touching Heavenly Soul's blade, and I crashed to the ground again. Heavenly Soul paused, not rushing to attack.
"This power is supreme over all things—the power of Divine Law, Ethan Zhang. It's the same force that suppressed Yin Choujian."

My eyes widened as Heavenly Soul's gaze suddenly sharpened. He appeared before me and slashed with his sword. I hurried to block with my Death Aura sword, but a massive repulsive force sent me flying before our blades even met. After landing, I slid back some distance as Heavenly Soul swung his sword again.
It wasn't an illusion, nor was I simply knocked back—the force came from within my own power.
"You finally realized, didn't you?"
Heavenly Soul smiled, swinging his sword in a horizontal slash. I was sent skidding violently backward.
"It really is incredible. My ghost energy and Death Aura can't break through this power."
I stared intently at Heavenly Soul as Death Aura overflowed from my body, denser than ever—like a stream of water. I flew at Heavenly Soul, and with a clang, I finally touched his sword and managed to press him back. He smiled approvingly and nodded.
"Good use of the opening—but I haven't used my real power yet."
Suddenly, Heavenly Soul pushed back with the sword I'd pinned down. With a snap, I turned into a wisp of black mist, scattering in all directions.
The moment my Death Aura sword was cut, I reacted instantly.
"Your reaction speed is much better now. The old you could never have dodged that."
As Heavenly Soul spoke, a stream of white energy swirled around him. He drifted toward me, slowly. I carefully considered how to respond.
Heavenly Soul's sword slashed at me, and I couldn't dodge—it cut me in two. The streams of energy swirling around him looked like ribbons, and as I started to turn to mist, they wrapped around me, splitting me apart. Heavenly Soul's sword thrust toward my head.
I stared wide-eyed and swallowed hard. The sword stopped just in front of my head.
"It's not about power suppression, Ethan Zhang."
Heavenly Soul released me, and I nodded.
"You really are faster than me."
I hadn't expected that, but thinking back, when Heavenly Soul emerged from my body, he instantly destroyed dozens of Ghost Rakshasa spirits.
"Think carefully about what kind of power you should use against me. If you can't understand, you'll never be able to touch me."
I hummed and began to think. This fight with Heavenly Soul was less a battle and more like training to help me master my power.
"Continue when you've figured it out."
I hummed again. Heavenly Soul drifted toward my ghost spirits while I sat quietly on the ground, pondering the traits and powers of my eight ghost spirits. None seemed suitable, except perhaps my human power—but that only maintained balance for now, especially after Zhu Tang joined as a ghost spirit and awakened my human side.
But I couldn't use it excessively, since I lacked the physical body needed to bear this power. I only had ghost spirits capable of holding the yin aspect, which posed a problem for me.
After a while, I seemed to think of something and called out. Heavenly Soul immediately floated over, and I smiled.
"Let's continue, Heavenly Soul."
Heavenly Soul looked at me in confusion.
"Have you figured it out?"
"A little bit."
As I spoke, black flames flowed in my hand, and a black Phoenix Blade appeared. I gripped it with both hands and swung at Heavenly Soul.
With a clang, Heavenly Soul blocked my Phoenix Blade with his white sword, the erupting black flames surging fiercely toward him.
"It looks like you finally understand. Since you know my power comes from Divine Law, you can break the absolute suppression between yin and yang by blending yang power into your yin aspect."
As Heavenly Soul spoke, I unleashed my power with all my might, slowly pushing him back.
