Lucy Luan grinned, "Whenever you two tie the knot, you absolutely have to invite us!"
"Of course!" Faustin beamed.
Just then, a disciple came to report: "Divine Lord Soren Lann has arrived."
Divine Marquis Lann Yin said, "Invite him in."
No sooner had he spoken than Soren Lann himself walked in.
"Divine Lord, what brings you here?" Lann Yin rose to ask.
Soren Lann replied, "It's been ages since I visited, Uncle. I came to see you—and to bring you a few things."
Lann Yin chuckled, glancing at Lucy Luan. "Oh, please! I know I'm just basking in Lucy's glory. I have enough self-awareness for that."
Lucy Luan felt totally awkward, stood up, and said, "Divine Lord and Divine Marquis haven't seen each other in ages. You must have loads to talk about, so we'll take our leave for now."
"Wait for me outside. We'll head back together in a bit," Soren Lann said.
The three of them nodded and left together.
Inside, Lann Yin asked, "Have you heard about the Xuanchen Clan?"
"I have," Soren Lann raised an eyebrow. "I figure the Celestial Emperor has been wanting to take them down for ages, and just used those brash youngsters as the perfect excuse."
"Exactly! The Celestial Empress's side has lost all face!" Lann Yin said. "But the Azure Dragon Lord's Manor and her faction definitely knew some of what was going on, and just turned a blind eye. It's their own fault."
Soren Lann nodded.
"Any news about the Demon Emperor? Who is it, really?" Lann Yin asked.
Soren Lann shook his head. "I used to think it was Baxa, but now even Baxa has been brought under His Majesty's command. I'm starting to wonder if the old Oracle from Drake Abyss just got it wrong."
Lann Yin shook his head. "Nope! I have a disciple who's good at divination, and he also says a Demon Emperor is about to burst onto the scene."
"But even he can't predict who it is?"
Lann Yin shook his head again.
Soren Lann frowned, deep in thought.
"No matter how powerful the Demon Emperor is, he's still just a demon," Lann Yin said. "Don't let it worry you so much. What matters is handling what's right in front of you."
Soren Lann nodded.
"Do you know what I'm talking about?" Lann Yin asked.
Soren Lann smiled and pointed outside.
"Even though I'm not in the Radiant Divine Realm, I know everything that's happening over there," Lann Yin said. "If you marry into the Lu Clan, those troublemakers won't be able to stir up anything! Hurry up and get it done, so I can stop worrying."
"Sigh!" Soren Lann laughed at himself. "The lord is willing, but the goddess is heartless—it's not easy..."
"I don't buy that!" Lann Yin said. "With your looks, cultivation, and status, what woman wouldn't be moved? You need to be more proactive! Don't let those brats beat you to it."
Lann Yin looked gossipy. "That one she brought last time... definitely not a good egg!"
Soren Lann laughed, "I get it, Uncle! But, only time will tell—I’ll make sure she sees my sincerity."
......
Outside, Faustin asked Lucy Luan, "Saint Maiden, was that Soren Lann just now?"
Lucy Luan nodded. "Was that your first time meeting him?"
"Yeah! He's so good-looking!" Faustin's jaw dropped. "Except for Fifth Highness, he's the most handsome guy I've ever seen!"
Lucy Luan smiled, "Right? I think so too."
"Why did Divine Lord Soren Lann bring gifts here?" Faustin was endlessly curious. "And he's so casual about it, like it's his own place!"
"Soren Lann grew up without a father—his uncle raised him! Divine Marquis Lann Yin is basically his dad," Lucy Luan explained.
"Oh, I see!" Faustin nodded.
"Are you talking about me?" Suddenly, Soren Lann appeared before them.
