Rona Muir's Matchmaking

1/4/2026

Pfft... Cici nearly spat out her tea.

Alright, Cici had finally witnessed the Vice President of Odyssey Corporation's skill at sophistry.

Mrs. Muir and Professor Muir both sighed at the same time, then turned to Cecilia Gu and said in unison, "Cici, Uncle and Auntie have a favor to ask, would you help us?"

Cici nodded obediently, "Of course, as long as it's something I can do, I won't turn you down!"

The more Mrs. Muir looked at Cici, the more satisfied she felt. How could such a wonderful girl not have been born into her own family!

Look at her, so well-behaved and sensible.

Listen to her, so gentle and considerate!

"In the next few days, just accompany Rona to her matchmaking banquets! And help Auntie keep an eye on her. If she tries to run away, call me, okay?" Mrs. Muir said to Cici with a kindly smile.

Cici looked at Rona's stunned expression and found it amusing. She couldn't help but nod, "Alright..."

Rona Muir's inner monologue: Yeah, right! Cecilia Gu, are you on my side or my parents' side? We're done as friends!

Mrs. Muir and Professor Muir liked Cici even more!

Sigh, if only Rona had met a friend like this earlier, maybe she'd be pregnant by now too?

Cici watched poor Rona get bombarded all afternoon, and finally burst out laughing with pity.

Rona Muir hugged her pillow and sighed, "You can still laugh at this?"

"Because I'm really curious to see you on a blind date!" Cici replied with a mischievous smile, "I've never been anyone's wingwoman before! I heard Auntie arranged quite a few candidates for you this time! I want to compare them and help you pick the best one!"

Hearing Cecilia Gu's answer, Rona Muir collapsed onto the sofa, covered her head with a pillow, and muttered from underneath, "Cecilia Gu, we're done as friends!"

Hmph, I'm not afraid of your threats!

They happily enjoyed lunch at the Muirs', and Cici felt completely satisfied.

After lunch, Mrs. Muir already sent over the profiles of tonight's matchmaking candidates.

She handed the profiles straight to Cici: "Cici, help Auntie take a look at this young man. He was recommended by my colleague, and supposedly has good prospects! From his photo, he looks pretty nice too!"

Cici eagerly took the profiles and skimmed through them, nodding as she read, "He really is nice! Looks energetic, the age is just right, and his degree is... oh, he graduated from Saint Petersburg State University! Not bad, not bad! This one is worth meeting!"

Mrs. Muir felt like she’d found a soulmate! She moved closer to Cici and discussed every detail about the young man. The two of them were a hundred times more enthusiastic than the person actually involved!

Even though Rona was reluctant, in the evening she was still dragged off to the blind date by an excited Cici.

Alright, seeing how pumped up Cici was, she decided to just go for it!

She’d just treat it as hanging out with Cici!

Rona Muir changed out of her work clothes into a deep purple, vintage-style coat, silver-gray pants, and a light purple, asymmetrical, fitted ethnic-style top. She swept up her long, wavy hair.

In an instant, she transformed from a sexy stunner into... well, a sexy stunner with an ethnic twist.

Cici, with her baby bump, wore a loose, deep rose leisure outfit, looking uniquely stylish.

The two of them arrived at the blind date location.

The two of them arrived at the blind date location.

It's my first time seeing a pregnant woman tagging along to a blind date...

The date glanced at Cici, then at Rona, and finally compared them to the photo in his hand before snapping back to reality.

Seriously, how can someone be so cheerful about a blind date? What's that supposed to mean...

As soon as Cici walked in, she spotted the guy Rona was supposed to meet.

Wow, he really is pretty good!

He looked handsome in the photo, but in person, he's even better!

Cici happily nudged Rona and led her over.

"Hi, I'm Rona's family. I came along for dinner, hope you don't mind? I'll pick up the tab." Cici cheerfully introduced Rona, "You two chat, I'll just sit at another table."

"Oh, it's fine! Since you came together, let's all eat together." The young man, seeing Cici's bright eyes, felt a bit embarrassed and said, "I should be the one paying. It's our first meeting, how could I let a lady pay?"

"Really? Then we won't be shy!" Cici pulled Rona to sit down.

Rona Muir covered her face—was this girl really her best friend?

Why did it feel like she was in such a hurry to marry her off—and at a bargain price, too!

The guy probably hadn't expected his blind date to be this attractive, and was clearly flattered.

Rona wasn't interested in the whole matchmaking thing, but she couldn't resist Cici's enthusiasm!

If Cici hadn't been chatting and jotting things down the whole time, Rona would have thought she was the one on the blind date!

So, today the guy felt like he'd hit the jackpot.

The more Cici observed, the more satisfied she felt.

Tagging along to a blind date with such a big baby bump—she really was going the extra mile.

Rona Muir wasn't interested in the whole matchmaking thing, but she couldn't resist Cecilia Gu's enthusiasm!

If Cecilia Gu hadn't been chatting and jotting things down the whole time, Rona would have thought she was the one on the blind date!

The more Cici watched, the more she liked him. Yep, this guy was pretty good.

"I heard you graduated from Saint Petersburg State University? What a coincidence, I used to have a colleague from there. I even learned a few words of Russian from him. Oh, Rona, how do you say 'Nice to meet you' again?" Cecilia Gu tilted her head and looked at Rona.

Cici silently nodded from the side.

Rona Muir couldn't help but roll her eyes and replied grumpily, "Приятно познакомиться."

As Rona's friend, Cici naturally felt indignant on her behalf.

The more Cecilia Gu observed, the more satisfied she felt.

Look at them, chatting away in Russian—what a perfect match.

The guy was pretty refined. Otherwise, how could he have caught the attention of Professor and Mrs. Muir?

"Let me introduce myself. I'm half Chinese, half Japanese, but I grew up in Russia, so I speak four languages: Chinese, Japanese, Russian, and English. My Chinese name is Jay Zhou, I'm twenty-six, and I'm back in China for the long term. My father is a director at an import-export company, so that's where my career is headed, too. I hear Miss Muir is quite skilled in this field as well. I hope we can collaborate more in the future!" Jay Zhou smiled warmly. "My main focus is Russia. If there's ever a chance, I'd love to invite you both to Russia as my guests, and I'll show you the best of Russian culture."

The more Cecilia Gu watched, the more she liked him. Yep, this guy was pretty good.

Anyway, Cici didn't see anything wrong with Jay Zhou.

Cecilia Gu silently nodded from the side.

On the way home, Rona Muir told Cecilia Gu that Mrs. Kerr had already spoken to her and asked her to leave Sean Kerr.

As Rona Muir's friend, Cecilia Gu naturally felt indignant on her behalf.

So what if Rona Muir wasn't born into a wealthy family?

Did she really have to marry into a rich family to find happiness?

Jay Zhou might be well-off, but he's nowhere near the level of Charles Yin or Sean Kerr.

At best, he's just a nouveau riche. Honestly, even if you added up all of Jay Zhou's assets, he might not be richer than Rona Muir.

Money isn't the point—the real question is character and temperament.

Anyway, Cecilia Gu didn't see anything wrong with Jay Zhou.

Seeing how serious he was, Rona Muir couldn't just brush him off. She answered earnestly, "My name is Rona Muir, but I suppose you already know that. I'm twenty-five, Vice President of Odyssey Corporation, and as you said, I'm very familiar with import-export. Even though this is our first meeting, I think you're pretty impressive. There aren't many second-generation kids who rely on themselves instead of their parents."

Jay Zhou grinned when he heard Rona Muir's praise.

Yoshi! Are they actually hitting it off now?

Cecilia Gu quickly typed the good news into her phone, ready to report the results to Mrs. Muir!

But before Cecilia Gu could send the message, she heard a wave of gasps from the people around them.

Cecilia Gu looked up in confusion and saw all the restaurant guests staring at the entrance.

The entrance...

Cecilia Gu couldn't help but follow their gaze!

Just one glance at the crowd, and Cecilia Gu nearly dropped her phone!

Why are they here?

This isn't even the downtown area of N City!

This is a county-level city under N City!

It's literally hundreds of miles from downtown!

Rona followed Cici's shocked gaze and was instantly startled too.

At the entrance stood three men, each with a different style but all insanely handsome. Just by standing there, they drew every eye in the entire mall!

Especially the man standing in the middle... Is he here just to make everyone jealous?

Wherever he goes, it's like the eye of a storm!

Whenever he shows up, people lose their appetite for food—they just want to eat him up!

Rona shot Cici a quick glance, "How did your husband even know about this place?"

Cici stared blankly at Rona, silently protesting.

Damn it, I wish I knew too!
