Darkstar Ruins

12/19/2025

Joe Di sorted through all the rings and storage pouches from the Qi Family, uncovering a vast quantity of pills and materials. There were tens of thousands of spiritual herbs, and those kept by these Qi Family experts were all rare and high-grade.

With Joe Di’s keen eyes, it took only a moment to see that the array’s spiritual source was a spirit vein. However, it had been extracted recently.

Joe Di understood at once, shaking his head in silence. Clearly, the spirit vein he’d just taken from Frederick Qi’s ring was the one from here—it had been taken, that was all.

This divine ability, found on Frederick Qi’s ring, was a leg technique—something Joe Di had never seen before. No matter what, he was determined to learn it.

Joe Di didn’t plan to stay here much longer anyway. A spirit vein dozens of meters long was precious, but compared to leaving this place, he didn’t care much about it.

Pools of water stretched as far as the eye could see, dotted with clusters of strange, tangled aquatic grasses—some vibrant, some withered, all exuding an eerie vitality. Amidst the pools, fragments of crumbling walls and shattered structures loomed, silent witnesses to the city's ancient grandeur. Only these remnants whispered of an age when this place was a thriving center of cultivation.

After sorting everything, Joe Di set them aside. The only item he kept in hand was a map jade slip.

He had barely set foot in the swamp when a water vine—its hue perfectly matching the gray, muddy earth—whipped out with uncanny speed, aiming to drag Joe Di into the mire. Its presence was utterly concealed, a lurking danger invisible until the moment it struck.

After setting up all the protective arrays around the plaza and the Darkstar Teleportation Hall, Joe Di finally began to implant the spirit vein.

Joe Di cursed Frederick Qi inwardly, calling him a conniving old bastard. The man had been here before, yet left no warnings or notes behind. Clearly, Frederick Qi wanted to keep this place to himself, treating it as the Qi Family’s private domain.

After nearly three years, Garrett finally broke through to the Nascent Soul stage. Now, he could go out and look for Brother Nine.

Joe Di understood at once, shaking his head in silence. Clearly, the spirit vein he’d just taken from Frederick Qi’s ring was the one from here—it had been taken, that was all.

Fortunately, the spirit vein not only powered the teleportation array, but also supplied energy to the entire hall. If it had been bound solely to the teleportation array, it would have been much harder for Joe Di to implant it again.

Joe Di didn’t plan to stay here much longer anyway. A spirit vein dozens of meters long was precious, but compared to leaving this place, he didn’t care much about it.

Pools of water were everywhere, and all sorts of bizarre water grasses grew in clumps here and there. Occasionally, remnants of walls and broken structures could be seen in the middle of the pools. Only these remnants hinted that, many years ago, this was once a great cultivation city.

Joe Di swept his spiritual sense outward. Sensing no danger, he stepped into the swamp.

No sooner had he set foot in the swamp than a water vine, its color identical to the swamp’s gray mud, swiftly lashed toward him, as if intent on dragging Joe Di into the mire. Before this, there was no way to know the vine was hiding there.

Joe Di cursed Frederick Qi inwardly, calling him an old bastard. That guy had been here before but hadn’t left any notes or warnings. Clearly, Frederick Qi didn’t want anyone else entering this place—it looked like he considered it the Qi Family’s private domain.

After nearly three years, Garrett finally broke through to the Soul Ancestor stage. Now, he could go out and look for Brother Nine.

Even though the Spirit Marrow Pool kept producing spiritual marrow, Garrett had no desire to keep cultivating. All he wanted was to leave and find Joe Di and Sprout.

After a day, Joe Di stopped. Before him lay a large pool. Sweeping it with his spiritual sense, he could only see sand and gravel below—nothing unusual.

As a Grand Arraymaster of the seventh rank, Joe Di could tell at a glance that the pool had been tampered with, and the concealment array outside had been newly set up.

He tossed a few array banners into the pool, and it split open from the center. A passage appeared before Joe Di, and he stepped right in.

At the end of the passage was a plaza. Even though it was underground, Joe Di could still sense the grandeur that once filled the place.

Ruined walls and broken structures surrounded the plaza. Joe Di’s spiritual sense told him that all the valuable items here had already been taken by Frederick Qi and were probably in his pocket world now. In the center of the plaza stood a building that hadn’t completely collapsed, with a few broken words outside: Darkstar Teleportation Hall.

The main gate and protective array outside the Teleportation Hall had been destroyed, but Joe Di easily spotted the newly set up concealment array.

This array was just like the one outside—likely set up by the Qi Family after their arrival. The one who set it up was, at best, a fifth-rank array master, two ranks below Joe Di.

Joe Di didn’t even bother to take out his array banners; with a few swift movements, he slipped into the Teleportation Hall.

With no other choice, Garrett continued to cultivate. After more than two years of relentless training, he broke through to the Soul Ancestor stage and survived the Soul Ancestor lightning tribulation.

Joe Di understood at once, shaking his head in silence. Clearly, the ley line he’d just taken from Frederick Qi’s ring was the one from here—it had been taken, that was all.

When he arrived at the Skyveil Plaza, everyone was already gone. According to the news Garrett received, the plaza had been closed for some time. Luckily, he heard something that thrilled him: Brother Nine had destroyed all the Qi Trading Houses.

Once he confirmed this was the teleportation array, Joe Di went back and set up the concealment array outside, then added a protective array.

After he implanted the ley line, he’d be teleported away. Joe Di worried someone might come back and take the ley line again. Ley lines weren’t easy to obtain—if one was extracted, the array would be rendered useless.

After setting up all the protective arrays around the plaza and the Darkstar Teleportation Hall, Joe Di finally began to implant the ley line.

Extracting a ley line was easy; implanting it was much harder. Even with Joe Di’s powerful spiritual sense and true essence, it still took him several days to restore the ley line beneath the teleportation array.

Once everything was ready, Joe Di stepped onto the Hexagonal Teleportation Platform, feeding piles of high-grade spirit stones into the six slots of the array and tossing out the activation array banner.

To Joe Di’s disappointment, even after the spirit stones were in place and the activation banner was set, the teleportation array remained motionless.

It seemed there was another problem with the array. Frustrated, Joe Di rubbed his hair. Back in the depths of Nightfall Ruins, he should have asked his master for more advice on arraycraft.

At the time, he’d thought being a seventh-rank Grand Arraymaster was enough. After receiving a single arraycraft insight from his master Quinn Windflower, he hadn’t paid much attention. He hadn’t expected he’d need to repair this teleportation array now.

This teleportation array likely led to the Central Realm. Such a transfer couldn’t possibly be set up by a seventh-rank Grand Arraymaster alone.

Luckily, he didn’t need to set up the array—just repair it.

Joe Di took out all the arraycraft jade slips from the Qi Trading House and the Skyblade Sect’s Scripture Pavilion. Most important was the arraycraft insight left by his master, Quinn Windflower.

Sitting in the Hexagonal Teleportation Array, Joe Di immersed himself in arraycraft research, completely forgetting the passage of time.

……..

Boom! The final arcs of a lightning tribulation descended, and Garrett let out a long howl.

After nearly three years, Garrett finally broke through to the Soul Ancestor Stage. Now, he could go out and look for Brother Nine.

A few years ago, Brother Nine was stirring up trouble for the Qi Trading House in Northridge City, and they’d agreed to go to Skyveil together. But Garrett had chased after a Spirit-Seeking Fox, only to accidentally fall into this valley.

Getting in was easy—getting out was nearly impossible. Before falling in, he hadn’t noticed anything strange, but once inside, the spiritual energy was incredibly dense.

Garrett didn’t care about the spiritual energy; he was worried Brother Nine wouldn’t be able to find him once he got out.

Reality soon left Garrett dumbfounded: the gravity suppression here was terrifying, and his strength wasn’t enough to climb out. None of his messages for help got any response.

Unwilling to give up, Garrett searched the area and found only one thing—a Spirit Marrow Pool.

If this Spirit Marrow Pool were outside, countless people would die fighting over it. But Garrett didn’t care; if he could get out, he wouldn’t bother with it at all. If he did want to cultivate, he’d have Brother Nine join him.

Trapped at the bottom of the valley, Garrett had nothing to do but cultivate. Fortunately, his simple nature meant he knew that with enough strength, he might escape. Driven by this hope, he trained furiously in the Spirit Marrow Pool.

The Stellar Meridian absorbed spiritual energy powerfully—especially from the Spirit Marrow Pool, the very essence of spiritual energy. In just a few months, Garrett broke through to the Golden Core realm.

Upon reaching the Golden Core realm, Garrett tried to climb out of the valley, but it still wasn’t enough.

With no other choice, Garrett continued to cultivate. After more than two years of relentless training, he broke through to the Soul Ancestor Stage and survived the Soul Ancestor lightning tribulation.

Even though the Spirit Marrow Pool kept producing spiritual marrow, Garrett had no desire to keep cultivating. All he wanted was to leave and find Joe Di and Tree Brother.

This time, Garrett wasn’t disappointed—he finally broke out of the valley and reached the outside world.

When he arrived at the Skyveil Plaza, everyone was already gone. According to the news Garrett received, the plaza had been closed for some time. Luckily, he heard something that thrilled him: Brother Nine had destroyed all the Qi Trading Houses.
