Chapter 1459
After bursting out of the ocean surface, the terrifying waves crashed against Leon's Fusion Shield, sending both him and the shield flying. When Leon looked up, he realized the wave he'd just seen was only a precursor—a monstrous tsunami, over a thousand meters tall, was surging toward them at breakneck speed.
Within the rising tsunami, countless sea creatures could be seen—some even massive oceanic beasts, two or three hundred meters long, were swept up helplessly by the surging water.
The tsunami's countless undercurrents were like deadly water blades, not only exerting crushing pressure but also carrying a terrifying force. The creatures caught in it—those even slightly weaker—were shredded as if thrown into a cyclone of wind blades. No, it was even more dreadful than that.
These sea beasts were squeezed by an overwhelming force, ground into fragments—not sliced, but literally crushed to pieces...
"Run! Run! We're doomed, we're doomed, we're doomed..."
Tubby clung to Leon's shoulder, shrieking in terror.
Leon’s expression shifted. He summoned his Fusion Shield and braced himself against the raging storm, ascending rapidly.
After climbing four or five hundred meters, Leon suddenly noticed that behind the thousand-meter-high tsunami, an even taller and larger one was following close behind.
Even with Eagle’s Eye, Leon couldn’t see where the tsunami ended. The smaller ones were at least two thousand meters high, and the sheer force rolling forward felt like the weight of an entire world crashing down.
This kind of terrifying force was simply beyond what any creature could withstand. Leon had been too close to the first tsunami to notice there was an even greater one looming behind.
At over three thousand meters above the ground, the magical elements here grew wildly chaotic. The fierce storm made it seem like a zone ravaged by supercharged spells.
The surging water elements slashed with the sharpness of wind blades...
As the monstrous tsunami drew closer, the pressure on Leon intensified. It looked like an ordinary tidal wave, but the force it carried was deadlier than any large-scale tenth-tier spell.
Even at four thousand meters high, the pressure only grew. Leon was forced to unleash his Elemental Elf King Avatar to withstand it.
With the Elemental Elf King Avatar summoned, the raging elemental forces around him instantly became docile—at least, they couldn’t break through Leon’s defenses or sweep him away.
Watching the tsunami below tear toward the coastline with unstoppable force, Leon couldn’t stop cold sweat from beading on his forehead.
There is indeed a tenth-tier spell that can trigger a tsunami, but never with such overwhelming power. This one was terrifying—at least a thousand kilometers wide, two or three thousand meters tall. And the gravity here was several times stronger than in the Northend World, with rules even harsher, which actually limited the tsunami’s destructive force.
If this tsunami struck in the Northend World, its power would be ten times greater, easily obliterating half the coastline. Everything within thousands of kilometers would be flattened. Against such a calamity, far beyond any spell’s reach, any creature caught up would be torn to shreds.
The tsunami on the surface was fastest, but the chaos lurking beneath was surely close behind. No wonder every creature below, no matter how big or strong, was desperately fleeing.
The closer to the coastline, the weaker these oceanic disasters became—especially those below the surface. As the water grew shallower, reefs and terrain steadily reduced the force of the waves. Near the shore, most of the stronger creatures could just barely escape.
Leon hovered in midair, quietly watching the tsunami rush past beneath him. Behind it, smaller waves gathered into lesser tsunamis, rolling forward like ordinary waves.
Gazing into the depths of the inland sea, chaos reigned—space itself seemed warped, and the elements were on the verge of forming an elemental storm. At times, Leon could faintly sense someone fighting in the distance.
He sensed the fluctuations nearby had grown steadier. Though still chaotic, the worst trouble came from the rampaging elements. With the Elemental Elf King Avatar, even the simplest elemental outbursts posed little threat; Leon didn’t need his shield, as none of the elements could harm him.
In fact, when these wild elements approached within ten meters of Leon, they’d instantly calm, acting like ordinary elemental energy.
At all times, the air was thick with elemental energy, but when stable, it was harmless—no need to worry, just like breathing calm air.
Seeing Leon apparently ready to fly deeper in, Tubby clung desperately to his robe, wailing in terror. His chubby face was pure fear.
"We're doomed, we're doomed! I don't want to die, let’s get out of here..."
Tubby screamed in misery, his voice cracking like a terrified child. Leon covered his ears and gave Tubby a gentle smack, but Tubby’s eyes stayed wide and unfocused, his shrieks unrelenting.
Leon used a bit more force—smack! Tubby’s caterpillar-like body was flattened, his eyes bulging from their sockets. He looked nearly squashed to death, and the screaming stopped abruptly.
Leon let go, and Tubby’s body instantly snapped back to normal. He seemed to regain his senses, clutching Leon’s robe and trembling.
Leon sighed inwardly. It was obvious now—Tubby had been scared witless. Only once the chaos faded did he snap out of it and start screaming again.
"Don’t go any further, you’ll die—really die! It’s been calm here for ages. The chieftain said, when it’s not calm, going closer means certain death..."

Tubby’s face was miserable, his voice trembling as he tried to persuade Leon not to go any further.
Leon hovered in midair, frowning as he sensed distant bursts of battle. The battlefield was several thousand kilometers away, yet its shockwaves reached even here. Whoever was fighting out there had to be beyond Sky Rank.
Getting caught up in a clash between beings of that level—even the aftermath would be enough to kill him. Leon didn’t dare approach recklessly.
"Are battles here a regular thing? When those people came in before, how did they cross this inland sea?"
Leon stayed vigilant. Here, even if some things were just nightmare-born illusions, dying meant real death. At least in this place, nothing was fake—under the rules of the Realm of Nightmares, everything was brutally real.
Tubby’s face was still miserable, and he continued to tremble.
“The chieftain said, when those outsiders and those annoying vampires came, it was calm here. The sea creatures didn’t even show themselves on the surface—there were no battles at all.
But the chieftain also said that every so often, battles break out here. It’s always been that way—whenever there’s fighting, no one dares get close..."
Runes spun in Leon’s eyes as he pushed his magitech gear to its limit. Suddenly, the gear pulsed—he’d caught a strange aura. For an instant, its power surged tenfold, and the view sharpened dramatically.
Far off, two massive shadows clashed and dodged, their battlefield stretching for thousands of kilometers. The fight raged above the inland sea, where the water was crushed by the shockwaves, forming a giant depression that seemed to breathe—expanding and contracting, sending monstrous waves outward. Everything beneath the surface was shredded by this terrifying force.
But Leon glimpsed this scene for only a moment before his magitech gear returned to normal, as if it had all been an illusion.
Leon’s face was grim. Even a blurry glimpse told him there was no way to force his way through. To reach the Deep World, he’d have to cross this inland sea—the only path, fixed by the rules.
There was no way to skirt the battlefield. Those two giant shadows dominated the heart of the sea, and even getting close to the edge could mean being torn to pieces.
"Tubby, how long do these battles last? When will they stop?"
Tubby clung to Leon’s shoulder, looking up anxiously. He wanted to say something else, but Leon shot him a glare, and Tubby immediately gave a straight answer.
"I don’t know. The chieftain says every time, they shatter the sea, and then it recovers. After a while, they show up again and shatter it all over..."
Tubby’s voice grew quieter, while Leon’s expression grew darker.
Shatter the entire inland sea? A sea with a diameter of over ten thousand kilometers—completely smashed?
Before Tubby could finish, Leon knew he couldn’t wait any longer. Those two fighters inside weren’t just beyond Sky Rank—they were nearly godlike.
Judging by the battle’s shockwaves, it would take years to shatter this sea. But there was no time left to waste—if he waited years, he’d return to find only endless undead.
From what Tubby said, this place cycles every so often.
