Quinn Shepherd looked up, muttering under his breath, reciting numerology terms as intricate rune sigils danced around him, constantly transforming in fascinating patterns.
Cyrus Qi felt a stir in his heart; he knew Quinn was calculating star trajectories, unraveling the puzzle left by his First Senior Brother Wayne Gale.
On the Alien-Star God-Slaying Platform of the Chiming Remnant Clan, Cyrus had seen a similar arrangement.
Back then, Wayne Gale left a small box in the star-array, and inside was the God-Slaying Profound Blade, which Quinn later seized. Because of Wayne’s legacy, Quinn arranged for Everpeace to contact the Chiming Remnant Clan in that era, and later returned to the Chiming Floating Realm with Teacher Chi Creek, allowing Everpeace to ally with the Floating Realm.
"If I can solve Wayne Gale’s puzzle before Quinn does, could I get my hands on the treasure Wayne left behind?"
Cyrus Qi dismissed the thought, remembering that on the Alien-Star God-Slaying Platform, both he and Zhe Huali had tried to solve Wayne’s puzzle, but Quinn was the first to crack it.
"That guy’s numerology skills were already above mine back then, and he’s surely become even more unfathomable these years," he thought to himself.
Quinn let out a breath, smiling as he reached out and lightly flicked a finger through the sky. Instantly, the stars above began to rotate, their tracks shifting.
Some stars followed fixed paths, while others darted about like headless flies, chaotically and without pattern.
Finally, the stars stopped moving, forming a flower-bud shaped pattern in the sky.
Quinn flicked his finger, and the stars shifted once more, the flower-shaped pattern of starlight slowly blooming open.
"A miracle of skill!" That was all anyone could think.
The compliment was directed at Quinn, but also at Wayne Gale, who had left this starlit puzzle behind.
Wayne Gale and Quinn, senior and junior brothers, had revealed the beauty of grand star-numerology, dazzling and extraordinary!
As the flower bloomed, a streak of cinnabar-red light dropped from its heart.
Quinn opened his palm, and the cinnabar-red light fell perfectly into his hand. As the glow faded, it left behind a diamond-shaped crystal, just over half an inch long.
Holding the unusual crystal up to the starlight, Quinn studied it calmly, though inside he was reeling. He smiled and said, "Brother Cyrus, doesn’t this crystal look just like the one set in the brow of the Pre-Historic Creator leader carved on the mural?"
Cyrus Qi was taken aback, examining the red Creation God-Stone closely. "Quinn, what are you trying to say?" he asked, puzzled.
"Nothing much."
Quinn put away the cinnabar-red crystal, smiling. "Maybe it’s not the same one. My senior brother was active from twenty thousand to a few thousand years ago, and liked to collect things for me. I’m separated from him by millennia, but we’ve long been acquainted. Most likely, he just thought this gem was pretty and hid it here for me to find."
