Everyone Is Smart Here

"Why not boost your brother's favorability score while you're at it?" Rona Muir looked at Sophie Mo with a half-smile. "You really go all out for your brother!"

Sophie Mo looked at Rona Muir very seriously and said, "Yes, I won't deny any of that. Rona, even though we're jealous and competitive, our focus is the same—we both want Cici to be happy, right?"

Rona Muir nodded lightly.

"So, let me ask you something. If Charles Yin can't make Cici happy, and being with him only brings her pain and tears, but my brother Max Mo can give her perfect protection and love, who would you support?" Sophie Mo's dark eyes stared at Rona Muir. "I can't guarantee anything else, but I can stake my life that my brother isn't the type to abandon someone, and he doesn't have any messy ex-girlfriend drama. The Mo Family and the Yun Family have always been close, and my mom absolutely adores girls from the Yun Family. So if Cici marries my brother, everyone in the Mo Family would treat her like a treasure, even more spoiled than me, their own daughter."

Rona Muir was suddenly silent.

To be honest, she was conflicted too.

She could see Charles Yin's situation clearly as well.

And she could see how outstanding Max Mo was, too.

Even if Max Mo wasn't as wealthy as Charles Yin, the Mo Family's fortune was more than enough to ensure Cecilia Gu lived a life of luxury and comfort.

Max Mo's attitude toward Cecilia Gu was definitely different.

Rona Muir was finally moved, a blush rising to her cheeks as she suddenly looked a bit embarrassed.

"Why are you thanking me? I didn't protect her for your thanks," Rona Muir said, biting her lip and waving her hand. "Ugh, why does this atmosphere feel so weird? I'm supposed to be your rival! Don't try to make me back off with this emotional stuff."

Sophie Mo burst out laughing.

Everyone here is smart!

It's better to be open and honest about many things than to hide or deceive.

Cecilia Gu hurried back with the medicine box. As soon as she entered, she saw two people who usually wouldn't back down from each other, but now both were smiling.

Hmm, what on earth happened while I was out getting the medicine box?

It used to be a meteor crashing into Earth, now it's just skimming past the surface?

It used to be the Titanic hitting the iceberg, but at the most dangerous moment, the iceberg drifted away and everyone was happy?

It used to be the Xuanwu Gate Incident, but now Li Shimin suddenly notices the crown prince's clothes aren't neat, fixes them, and says "Do well, I'm rooting for you"?

All of this is just too fantastical, isn't it?

Rona Muir's cheeks were slightly red. If the other person in the room wasn't Sophie Mo, Cecilia Gu would have thought Rona Muir was out flirting with a handsome guy!

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Rona Muir pretended nothing was wrong. "Geez, you took so long just to get the medicine box. You should've sent your assistants... Wait, where are your two assistants?"

Cecilia Gu thought for a moment and said, "It's already late, I let them go home and rest!"

Rona Muir checked her watch and suddenly exclaimed, "Oh my gosh! It's already eleven o'clock! I need to go to bed!"

Rona Muir stood up to leave.

Cecilia Gu grabbed Rona Muir and pushed her onto the bed. "Clean your wound first!"

Rona Muir watched as Cecilia Gu skillfully cleaned her wound and couldn't help but ask, "How are you so good at this? It's like you've been a nurse before."

Cecilia Gu replied casually, "Yeah, I got hurt a lot as a kid, and my family wouldn't take me to the hospital, so I learned to treat myself. Eventually, I got pretty good at it! Look at my technique now, isn't it as good as a hospital nurse? My mom was always getting hurt too, so I was the one who treated her wounds!"

Hearing Cecilia Gu's proud answer, Rona Muir felt a pang of sadness in her heart.

Rona Muir's family wasn't wealthy, but she was always the cherished child—her father was a university professor and doted on her.

Sophie Mo was the eldest daughter of her family, adored by all, the treasured granddaughter of a military district commander.

So both of them grew up pampered and privileged.

Suddenly hearing Cecilia Gu talk so lightly about her past hardships made both of their noses sting with emotion.

After Cecilia Gu finished treating Rona Muir's wound, she sighed in relief. "Alright, don't shower tonight. You'll be fine by tomorrow. It's late, you should all get some rest. Ah, Sophie, you shouldn't shower either. It's just one night, don't let your wound get wet."

Sophie Mo and Rona Muir answered with stuffy noses, "Got it. You get some sleep too."

After leaving Cecilia Gu's room, Rona Muir said thoughtfully to Sophie Mo, "Maybe you're right. As long as Cici is happy, that's enough. She's suffered so much. If she has the chance, I hope she can have a peaceful, worry-free life."

Sophie Mo smiled silently.

For the first time, the two of them finally agreed on something.

In a certain room on the ship, Charles Yin's expression was dark and uncertain.

Little A had been standing beside Charles Yin for over an hour.

"Little A," Charles Yin finally spoke, "Have I been too indulgent with Sylvia Ran?"

Little A thought, it's more than indulgence.

It's indulgence to the extreme.

But Little A didn't dare say that, so he just replied, "Young mistress has been wronged."

"I know. But if I deal with Sylvia Ran now, my mom..." Charles Yin sighed. "Grandma already dislikes Mom. If I go against her again, she'll be heartbroken, right? Dad is still missing, and Mom is disabled for life... If I keep opposing her, the Yin Family's power isn't in her hands... Little A, what should I do?"

Little A shook his head. "I don't know either."

Charles Yin sighed. "It's really a dilemma."

Little A's eyes flickered, as if he was thinking of something else.

But after thinking it over, he decided to stay silent.

It's best not to interfere too much with the CEO's family affairs.

"Go give them some ointment and warn Sylvia Ran not to go too far," Charles Yin said, frowning. "Only Shang Ke knows I'm here, and Sylvia must have forced him to bring her! Should I warn Shang Ke? He's been meddling too much lately!"

"By the way, President Shang just tied up President Mu in the storage room. President Mu probably hates him now," Little A said. "President, do you need to remind President Shang?"

"Hmph! Remind him?" Charles Yin sneered. "It's time he tasted what it's like to want something and not get it! He's not like me—I'm helpless, but he had a good relationship he didn't cherish, and now he's messing around with Sylvia Ran! Rona Muir will teach Shang Ke a lesson about what it means to lose something."

"Yes." Little A bowed respectfully.

"Alright, it's late. Get some rest," Charles Yin said, tiredly massaging his temples.

Meanwhile, after Sylvia Ran and Shang Ke left, Shang Ke returned to the storage room to look for Rona Muir, only to find the room in complete disarray, and Rona Muir gone.

A bad feeling flashed through Shang Ke's heart.

Shang Ke turned and took out his phone to call Rona Muir, only to find he'd been blocked.

He had no idea which room Rona Muir was staying in, so even if he wanted to explain and apologize, he had no chance.

At that moment, Rona Muir sat on her bed, staring blankly at her computer screen. With a tap of her finger, she sent off a resignation letter.

Shang Ke, it's time for us to settle the score.
