This guy’s name was Kevin Chance—a young master from a minor clan, though he wasn’t valued and just muddled through life. He even bragged about having relationships with countless women. Evan could only shake his head and say, "Aren’t you afraid Lady Selena will find out? If she sees you here, won’t she kill you?"
"Come on, that’s just how men are. Besides, the notice says open husband selection event—there’s no rule against men having multiple women," Kevin Chance laughed.
So Evan could only plan to find someone with similar goals. But the only ones who would want to leave here were those desperate to escape, and finding such people wasn’t easy. Still, Evan didn’t give up.
"Look at you, dressed like a beggar. Don’t tell me you’ve never even touched a woman," Kevin Chance teased.
Time passed bit by bit. Evan wandered the city for three days straight, but found nothing. He grew frustrated—sometimes he wanted to just grab someone and ask, but he knew these people wouldn’t know the way out. Catching them would be pointless.
Seeing Evan’s face turn red, Kevin Chance laughed, "Haha, just kidding—don’t take it seriously."
More and more people gathered at the city’s center. Curious, Evan made his way over and found a crowd. In the middle stood a massive stone covered with various paper notices.
Kevin Chance shook his head and laughed, "How should I know? Even if I don’t win, it’s fine—maybe I’ll sneak off with a few girls instead."
Evan’s expression changed even more, and he looked at Kevin Chance strangely.
Kevin Chance laughed, "Sorry for making you laugh. I meant the palace maids."
This answer sent a wave of excitement through the crowd, especially among the poor and those with ambition. They dreamed of joining the Water Clan, and now, with such a golden opportunity, they couldn’t wait to sign up.
"Relax. Maybe those palace maids will fall for me and follow me loyally," Kevin Chance said confidently.
Evan was thoroughly defeated by Kevin Chance’s antics. He just smiled and focused on what lay ahead. Seeing Evan silent, Kevin Chance started muttering to himself out of boredom.
"With so many people, how will the Crystal Palace choose?" Kevin Chance asked curiously after a while.
Evan watched the crowd, thinking, "Maybe I can slip in, find some Water Clan officials, and then..."
Kevin Chance, bored, thought Evan knew nothing and was a dull person. He looked around, hoping to find someone more chatty, but everyone ignored him. Annoyed, he said to Evan, "Look at these people—each thinks they’re so special, but I doubt they’re any better than us."
Disguising himself as a beggar was the safest choice—no one would suspect his true identity or background. He blended in with the crowd and went to register.
"Quiet? If I could keep quiet, I’d be the best in the world! But because I can’t, I don’t like cultivating and haven’t made any progress," Kevin Chance boasted.
"What’s your name?" the registrar asked.
"Mu Yi," Evan replied.
"Alright, noted. Here’s your number: 51111. When the time comes, follow this number for further arrangements." The registrar recorded it and handed Evan a badge.
Evan nodded and put it away, surprised to find the numbers had reached over ten thousand—and that was just for this planet. There were other planets too, which meant even more people. The sheer number of participants shocked him.
While registering, the notice poster announced, "Once you get your badge, head to the teleportation array—you’ll be sent to Bluewater Star, where someone will receive you."
Everyone who got their badge was thrilled and hurried to the city’s teleportation array. Evan followed along. Time passed, and after half a day, Evan finally arrived at the designated planet.
When he saw the scene before him, he was stunned. Far ahead, a palace-like building floated in the sky, gleaming with golden light. Tons of people had arrived, and in front of him was an endless crowd. "What’s that building?" Evan muttered.
"You don’t even know that? You’re even more clueless than me! That’s the Water Clan’s Crystal Palace—there are hundreds of thousands of Water Clan guards inside, not to mention a ton of Emperors. And I’ve heard there are tons of beauties too," the guy next to him said, practically drooling.
"Isn’t that a bit exaggerated?" Evan sighed.
"What’s so exaggerated? Are you even a guy? Don’t tell me you’re not interested in Lady Selena. I heard she’s gorgeous—tons of young masters from other clans have pursued her, but she’s rejected them all," the man laughed.
Evan didn’t dislike him, though he was a bit odd. But since Evan knew nothing about this place, he chatted with him to learn more about the area.
This guy’s name was Marquis Tianzi—a young master from a minor clan, though he wasn’t valued and just muddled through life. He even bragged about having relationships with countless women. Evan could only shake his head and say, "Aren’t you afraid Lady Selena will find out? If she sees you here, won’t she kill you?"
"Come on, that’s just how men are. Besides, the notice says husband selection—there’s no rule against men having multiple women," Marquis Tianzi laughed.
"I give up," Evan said with a helpless laugh.
"Look at you, dressed like a beggar. Don’t tell me you’ve never even touched a woman," Marquis Tianzi teased.
"Uh..." Evan really felt he’d run into a rascal.
Seeing Evan’s face turn red, Marquis Tianzi laughed, "Haha, just kidding—don’t take it seriously."
"Does Brother Tianzi know why they’re holding a husband selection?" Evan asked curiously. It seemed odd for such an important Water Clan figure to choose a husband this way.
Marquis Tianzi shook his head and laughed, "How should I know? Even if I don’t win, it’s fine—maybe I’ll sneak off with a few girls instead."

Evan’s expression changed even more, and he looked at Marquis Tianzi strangely.
Marquis Tianzi laughed, "Sorry for making you laugh. I meant the palace maids."
"You’d better be careful. If anyone from the Crystal Palace finds out, you won’t be far from death," Evan warned kindly.
"Relax. Maybe those palace maids will fall for me and follow me loyally," Marquis Tianzi said confidently.
Evan was thoroughly defeated by Marquis Tianzi’s antics. He just smiled and focused on what lay ahead. Seeing Evan silent, Marquis Tianzi started muttering to himself out of boredom.
"With so many people, how will the Crystal Palace choose?" Marquis Tianzi asked curiously after a while.
"I don’t know either. I’d like to find out," Evan replied.
Marquis Tianzi, bored, thought Evan knew nothing and was a dull person. He looked around, hoping to find someone more chatty, but everyone ignored him. Annoyed, he said to Evan, "Look at these people—each thinks they’re so special, but I doubt they’re any better than us."
"Just try to keep quiet," Evan said with a smile.
"Quiet? If I could keep quiet, I’d be the best in the world! But because I can’t, I don’t like cultivating and haven’t made any progress," Marquis Tianzi boasted.
Evan rolled his eyes helplessly and kept waiting.
Seeing Evan silent, Kevin Chance kept pacing left and right, unable to sit still.
The Crystal Palace was the Water Clan’s grandest place. From a certain platform in the palace, it was easy to see Evan and the others—a dense sea of people from above.
At that moment, a woman stood on the platform, lost in thought.
"Little sister, are you really going through with this?" A man in a wheelchair behind her asked, looking at her back.
"Brother, I had a dream," the woman said.
"A dream? What kind of dream?" the man asked suspiciously.
"I dreamed that a divine being would come here. To find that person, this is the only way," the woman said. "A divine being? What kind of divine being?" the man asked, increasingly confused.
"Someone who can heal you," the woman replied. "Little sister, don’t joke. My injury can’t possibly be cured," the man said.
"But you know, most of my dreams since childhood have turned out to be prophecies. Do you think I can just give up?" the woman said, turning to look at her brother.
The man fell silent. His leg injury had lasted for years, and he certainly wanted to recover—it would make everything easier. He was curious about his sister’s dream, but he knew she really did have that ability: whenever she had strange dreams, most of them came true.
Seeing her brother silent, the woman smiled, "Don’t worry, brother. I’ll definitely find that divine being."
"You have a way to find them?" the man asked curiously.
"Yes, the husband selection is just a method. I didn’t expect so many people this time. If we let them come one by one, it would take forever. I’ve already thought of the first test. Soon, we’ll be able to narrow it down." The woman smiled confidently. "What’s the first test?" the man asked curiously. "You’ll see—it’s about to start," the woman replied with a smile.
The man looked at the woman, then glanced outside. Thanks to a special formation here, people inside could see an enlarged view of the outside, making it look as if the crowd was right in front of them.
Evan also noticed more and more people gathering. Finally, someone floated into the air and announced, "Everyone here for the selection, the time has been set! The first test will begin in five hours. Those who pass will stay; those who fail will leave automatically."
"What’s the test?" someone asked curiously.
"You’ll know in five hours," the person in the air replied before vanishing.
The crowd below buzzed with speculation. Evan was also curious about what method the Crystal Palace would use. A competition seemed impossible—there were at least hundreds of thousands of people here. If it were a contest, it would take forever.
