Shattering the Will

"Kill!"

A leopard-headed, leopard-tailed witch-warrior shouted fiercely, raising a copper mirror toward Quinn Shepherd. Within the mirror, countless souls appeared—ferocious and menacing.

Ding.

Suddenly, a flying sword appeared before the copper mirror and nailed itself to its surface. The mirror was incredibly tough, actually blocking the sword, but in the next instant, the sword spun and shifted into Drill Sword Form, boring straight through the copper mirror. Sword light shattered the mirror and pierced the witch-warrior behind it in one strike.

"What is there to fear from Soul-Witch Poison?"

Quinn Shepherd’s clothes whipped in the wind as he raised his hand to recall the flying sword. Another witch-warrior grew tiger fur, claws, and a tail all over his body, howling as he charged forward, stirring up a violent gust and lunging to kill—giving Quinn no chance to draw his sword.

Quinn sidestepped and punched. Their footwork tangled, the sound of heavy blows echoing endlessly. The witch-warrior’s head shook, morphing into a tiger’s head, roaring like thunder—each roar battering Quinn’s soul.

Quinn turned his fist into a seal, unleashing Sun-Bathing Soul Refining in Midair. His five fingers spread into a palm—he uttered the Maya Sa Mantra and struck with the Heavenly Demon Freedom Seal. His palms and fists shifted back and forth, Buddhist, Daoist, and demonic hand-seals alternating. The tiger’s roar sounded only three times before Quinn shattered the witch-warrior’s soul, leaving him to collapse stiffly to the ground.

Suddenly, another Grand Shaman at the Six Directions Treasury level leapt out. His cultivation was far more formidable than the previous witch-warriors, his divine arts effortless, yet he maintained the appearance and form of an ordinary person.

Although he had already sealed his Six Directions Treasury, once he activated his techniques, his form instantly changed—like a raging ape wielding a golden staff as thick as a pillar, sweeping through the crowd with immense strength and astonishing agility.

Quinn reached out and grabbed his bamboo staff, meeting the golden staff head-on. The two clashed in a flurry of lightning-fast blows, until suddenly, a barrage of golden staff shadows recoiled. The witch's chest was struck by the tip of the bamboo staff, his face twisting in shock.

But he was, after all, a great witch of the Six Directions Treasury—no ordinary witch. He reacted instantly, unsealing his Six Directions secret treasury. Yet the moment the seal broke, Quinn's bamboo staff pierced straight through his heart, and his body collapsed lifeless to the ground.

Quinn withdrew the bamboo staff from his chest. In the Everpeace Empire, a Six Directions-level great witch is called a 'Divine Arts Practitioner.' The names differ, but in truth, there's no real distinction.

If this practitioner hadn’t sealed his Six Directions treasury, Quinn would have struggled to kill him. But as long as the fight was at equal realm, Quinn had the strength to slay his opponent—no matter if they once stood at Six Directions or Seven Stars!

Thud.

A golden warrior vaulted onto the golden platform, landing with a heavy crash. On his back was a blade-sheath taller than a man. He suddenly opened his mouth wide and roared at Quinn; from the sheath, blades whistled forth, a storm of gleaming knives raining down toward Quinn.

At the same time, the golden warrior gripped twin blades and lunged, whirling his knives in a deadly dance—sometimes in front, sometimes behind—like two giant pythons coiling and rolling toward Quinn.

Quinn held a butcher knife in each hand—one forward, one reversed—while flying swords shot out from the sword pack on his back, meeting the incoming blade storm head-on.

Heaven-Splitting Crosscut!

One large, one small—the golden warrior was half a head taller than Quinn. They collided with a thunderous crash, their blades slashing in a cross: the horizontal cut blocked the path like a mountain, the vertical cleaved through it like a knife. Blood-red blade light soared skyward, as if a giant was hacking open a road through a sheer cliff that stretched for miles. The golden warrior’s body split into four, slain by the crossing blades.
