For a split second, the whole battlefield went silent—even the charging orcs froze mid-step. Axes and clubs raised high, they all turned their heads, dumbfounded, to stare at the massive boulder now sunk deep into the jungle.
No way the invincible Ringwraith just got one-shotted, right?
—Of course not.
Sparks flew and a chorus of screeches echoed from behind the boulder—metal grinding, slicing, clattering. Suddenly, a swarm of razor-sharp blades flashed through the air, and the giant rock exploded into tiny fragments, raining down everywhere. Out of the swirling dust stepped Blademaw, looking not just unharmed but even more menacing than before.
The chubby guy instantly clutched his head and bolted. "Nope, I'm out! Someone else deal with this thing!"
The orcs howled, rallying their spirits again. The elves gripped their moonblades, bracing for impact—Blademaw was fast. If running just meant getting picked off one by one, better to stand and fight like heroes.
But Blademaw barely glanced at these small fry. Beneath its helmet, those void-like eyes burned with pure rage. Nobody else noticed, but Blademaw sure knew who ambushed it. It locked its gaze on the Twins, letting out a furious screech.
"Quit your screeching, you drama queen!" Jill Young rolled up her sleeves and stepped forward, eyes blazing. "Just had a good meal—perfect time to stretch and loosen up!"
"That big pile of prime materials? No way we're letting it get away. With all that, our custom weapons are going next-level." Even Teacher Yang was fired up for once: "So, don't chicken out—let's go!"
Whoosh—both of them charged forward in perfect sync, one ahead, one behind, closing in on Blademaw. And Blademaw wasn't backing down either. It raised an arm, and with a dramatic flourish, its cloak split into two, morphing into wings made of countless blades. With a thunderous flap, the metal feathers clashed and collided, launching a barrage of blades like missiles straight at them.
At the same time, over a hundred suspended flying swords surged forward, slashing at all the elven knights. Clearly, Blade Demon wanted to multitask and wipe out everyone in one go. Taking this as a signal, the orcs resumed their charge, swinging axes and clubs, grinning with rotten teeth. With Blade Demon backing them up, even the elite elven knights weren’t safe from a beatdown!
"Careful! Don’t rush in blindly!" Gandalf panicked, spurring his horse to support the twins.
But Jasper Xiao raised a hand to stop him. Gandalf looked confused, but Jasper just smiled and shook his head. “Relax, it’s fine.” For those two, sending one is enough to win; sending both is just bullying the demon for a quicker finish.
“But Blade Demon’s body is made of invincible demon soldiers from the First Age! Those are Magos’s weapons, banished by the gods to the dark abyss. Even a tiny scratch will corrupt you with dark magic! And they’re charging in bare-handed—aren’t they…”
Gandalf’s elderly anxiety kicked in—he loved to worry and explain things. But today, he wasn’t going to get a word in, because the two sides were already clashing blades.
The clash rang out—clang, clang, clang! Jill’s hands glowed dark gold as she slapped away every sword coming her way. Sparks flew, but Jill powered through without a scratch. After slaying a dragon in the last world and burning her limits, she’d lost a lot. But lately, she’d been munching on lesser meat pills and just absorbed a load of fresh life energy—her blood and qi were finally getting back to normal.
“You think you can multitask while fighting me?” Jill snatched a sword out of the air like it was nothing. A dragon-shaped shadow leapt from her arm, swirling endlessly. The pressure from her rank surged forward, making the incoming flying knives hesitate for a split second. “Come on—show me what you’ve really got!”
Whoosh—the sword Jill threw shot back like lightning, slicing through every obstacle and slamming into Blade Demon’s chest, nearly splitting it in two.
But that kind of damage was nothing for Blade Demon. Its body wriggled, quickly absorbing the sword and healing all wounds. It realized it was better off focusing its power than splitting its attention. With a low growl, it called back all the flying swords attacking the elves. Over a hundred swords turned into streaks of light, sweeping toward the twins from behind.
Blade Demon’s arms shook—clang, clang! Two long swords extended from its palms. These swords were pitch black, thin and long, and clearly a cut above the rest. But before it could even get ready, Jill had already punched through the defenses.
Boom! With a huge crash, Blade Demon crossed its swords to block the punch, and somehow, the black blades held firm. Its whole body rattled and clanged, but this modular body was built to absorb impacts—a natural advantage. It quickly recovered and launched a counterattack.
Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh—blades everywhere! Blade Demon’s hands moved at lightning speed, and its blade-wings spun like twin chainsaws, turning one demon into a whole gang fight. Crack! Boom! Centuries-old trees were caught in the crossfire, tilting and falling, only to be shredded mid-air into tiny wood chips.
But the wild assault didn’t last. With two sharp clangs, Jill suddenly grabbed Blade Demon’s wrists, one left, one right, with perfect precision. Blade Demon might not show emotion, but it was clearly shocked by this bare-handed blade-catching move.
Blade Demon jerked its wrist, trying to pop out more blades to pierce Jill’s palms. But with a crunchy squeeze, Jill’s fingers crushed them flat. Blade Demon shuddered, its arms instantly shortening and thickening, like shedding a sleeve. A mass of blades cascaded down Jill’s arms, twisting and swirling, trying to wrap her up and grind her down.

But Jill just grinned, bent low, and ducked her head.
The next moment, a huge, solid, heavy metal ball came flying and smashed right into Blade Demon’s face.
The Twins—there’s always two of them.
Rewind a few seconds: While Jill was brawling up close with Blade Demon, Teacher Yang stood his ground as a hundred flying swords spun toward him. The blades twisted in midair, forming a giant death drill, unstoppable and terrifying.
But Teacher Yang’s eyes glimmered, seeing through two layers of reality: force and qi.
Feet planted, one hand forward, one behind, back like a pine, arms like cypress. When the sword drill was just inches away, he simply reached out, tapped, and swept—turning inches into miles.
Hundreds of flying swords, each glinting cold and sharp, suddenly turned into ribbons in a dancer’s hands. They swirled and flowed, obedient between Teacher Yang’s palms. His hands became a universe—no matter how fast the swords, they couldn’t escape.
Weaving, crisscrossing, like spinning cotton or weaving cloth, hundreds of streaks tangled together. Teacher Yang gathered them up, squeezed—clang! The swords locked together, not crushed but intricately interlocked like a puzzle box. No matter how you tried, you couldn’t pull a single sword out.
It was like a heavenly net—and yet not. Such a skill would make even Lin Chaoying drop her jaw if she saw it herself.
Then Teacher Yang’s solemn face broke into a wicked grin. He tossed the metal ball, swung a long alloy chain around it, and started spinning it like an Olympic hammer thrower. Whoosh, whoosh! Right where Blade Demon had cleared the ground, Teacher Yang spun at top speed, sending the iron ball into a frenzy.
Creak! The wild spinning built up ridiculous centrifugal force. Just as the alloy chain was about to snap from the strain, Teacher Yang let go, Jill ducked, and the metal ball smashed right into Blade Demon’s head, face, and chest…
In that instant, Jill saw every part on Blade Demon’s surface bend, warp, and shatter.
Next moment—boom! Parts exploded everywhere, and Blade Demon was sent flying, bursting into a tangled cloud of blades. Jill seized the chance, twisted and wrenched, and with two sharp clangs, snatched those two black swords for good.
“Whoa, nice! Top-tier divine weapons, nearly magical grade, and the material’s super rare.” A faint sun pattern glowed on Jill’s forehead, her eyes flashed gold, and a bit of pure qi mixed with holy fire surged into the swords. A ghostly scream echoed inside, then the swords went silent.
With a flick of her wrist, Jill stashed the swords away and kicked off after Blade Demon. “Not done yet! There are more goodies where that came from!”
“Ten more,” Teacher Yang called out with exact numbers, already chasing even faster and more eagerly than Jill.
Clang! The cloud of blades twisted and reshaped, finally recombining into Blade Demon’s form. It was noticeably smaller now, especially the arms. Furious, it’d never suffered such a loss since awakening from chaos and fighting across the land as its master’s sharpest weapon.
As one of the first awakened Ringwraiths, its strength was unquestionable. It could assassinate VIPs in enemy territory and never failed. Who’d have thought it’d get thrashed so hard in its own backyard?
But anger was pointless—and there was no time for anger—because as soon as it reformed, Teacher Yang was already standing in front of it. Those half-shut, ghostly eyes seemed to see through everything, sending a chill deep into its soul.
