Picking a Fight at the Chu Family

"Cultivation technique? What cultivation technique?" the white-robed man asked suspiciously.

"I haven't managed to find that out," the man replied.

"Idiot, how could you not know? What kind of investigating is that?" The white-robed man grew angry when he realized there was no follow-up at the crucial moment.

"Because they don't know either. The Chu Family has forbidden anyone from discussing it," the man said gloomily.

Evan Yang's appearance had undoubtedly piqued the white-robed man's curiosity, so now he just wanted to find out Evan Yang's information as quickly as possible.

Evan Yang had no idea he was really being targeted. At that moment, he was discussing ancient teleportation arrays with Victor Chu, but Victor didn't know much either. Even though he was the head of the family, most of these arrays were built in dangerous places, some even abandoned, so the map only showed a portion, not all of them.

After a night of searching, Evan Yang felt both pleasantly surprised and a bit disappointed. The disappointment was not finding a teleportation array to Blaze Mountain, so he would have to study each array one by one himself.

After the banquet ended, Evan Yang and Hannah Nangong headed back to their rooms to rest. Chase Chu wanted to escort them, but Evan Yang refused, telling him to get up early tomorrow so he could teach him something.

Hearing there was something to learn, Chase Chu was overjoyed. Meanwhile, Evan Yang and Hannah Nangong were walking down the corridor.

"Big brother, what should we do? Should we find someone to capture that Chu Family kid and force the Chu Family to trade?" The man asked after thinking for a moment.

"Yeah, I know," Evan Yang replied with a smile.

After being scolded, his subordinate could only stay silent. The room fell quiet until the white-robed man's eyes narrowed. "I want information on that kid's master. Hurry up, I need it by tomorrow. If you don't get it, don't bother coming back."

"Li Family? I don't know much about them," Evan Yang said, unfamiliar with their situation.

Watching the man leave, the white-robed man muttered, "I didn't pay attention to whether there were any strangers at the Chu Family today. Could it really be some powerful expert? Did he teach him some formidable cultivation technique?"

"What are you trying to say?" Evan Yang asked.

Yang Han had no idea he was really being targeted. At that moment, he was discussing ancient teleportation arrays with Victor Chu, but Victor didn't know much either. Even though he was the head of the family, most of these arrays were built in dangerous places, some even abandoned, so the map only showed a portion, not all of them.

"So what if they know? I have no grudges with the Li Family. Do they really want to come after me?" Evan Yang smiled.

After the banquet ended, Yang Han and Hannah Nangong headed back to their rooms to rest. Victor Chu wanted to escort them, but Yang Han refused, telling him to get up early tomorrow so he could teach him something.

"Don't get discouraged. You'll find it," Hannah Nangong comforted.

"Yeah, I know," Yang Han replied with a smile.

"The Li Family probably won't come, right?" Hannah Nangong changed the topic.

"Li Family? I don't know much about them," Yang Han said, unfamiliar with their situation.

"I don't think the Li Family will give up so easily," Hannah Nangong said.

"What are you trying to say?" Yang Han asked.

"I'm saying you should be careful, don't expose yourself. You took on a disciple so publicly, and there was some kind of assessment. If the Li Family finds out, it'll be easy for them, and your identity too," Hannah Nangong said.

"So what if they know? I have no grudges with the Li Family. Do they really want to come after me?" Yang Han smiled.

"You never know. Didn't you hear them, before they left, treat Chase Chu as if he'd used some kind of treasure?" Hannah Nangong laughed.

"That's true. They'll definitely try to find out what kind of treasure it was. But the Chu Family is so big, word will inevitably get out. Tomorrow, I need to have a good talk with Chase," Yang Han said with a smile.

"Talk about what?" Hannah Nangong asked curiously.

"That's a secret," Evan Yang replied with a smile.

"So mysterious! But since I'm the master's wife now, shouldn't I help train him too?" Hannah Nangong joked.

"Master's wife? You're really taking that role seriously," Evan Yang sighed.

"What's wrong with that? Everyone knows the daughter of the Ethereal Sanctuary Palace Lord was stolen away by you," Hannah Nangong said.

"That's true. But tell me, are you going to keep hiding from Sanctuary forever? They're your father and siblings," Evan Yang asked curiously.

"Don't say that. If they really saw me as family, they wouldn't treat me as a sacrifice. For the sake of territory, they made me give up so much," Hannah Nangong sighed.

Evan Yang understood Hannah Nangong's feelings, so he didn't press further. "Get some rest early," he said.

Then Evan Yang and Hannah Nangong went to their respective rooms. The guest rooms were adjacent, and the area was very quiet.

Evan Yang entered his room, lay down, and thought about the ancient teleportation arrays. "I'll stay for another month, then leave. There's not much time left," he mused.

Meanwhile, in her own room, Hannah Nangong muttered, "Am I really going to follow him for the rest of my life?"

Hannah Nangong felt a bit lost now, unsure what her real relationship with Evan Yang was—were they just fake spouses or something else? Her face was full of helplessness.

As for the Chu Family, they were undoubtedly the happiest. Chase Chu had taken a master, and by evening he'd defeated his opponent, bringing hope to the Chu Family.

The Li Family was the most frustrated. They searched everywhere for information, and by the next morning, someone came to report.

"Evan Yang? Defeated a ninth-tier Xuan-Immortal with eighth-tier Heavenly-Immortal strength? Is he really that strong?" The white-robed man asked suspiciously after hearing the report.

"That's right. The investigation confirms it," his subordinate replied.

"Evan Yang, Evan Yang... There really is such a person. I thought it was impossible, but now he's actually here," the white-robed man muttered, as if he'd heard the name before.

"Big brother, what do we do now?" the man asked.

"What do we do? Of course, we settle old scores. Since he's the one who taught the disciple, I'll defeat him first. Isn't he supposed to be able to beat Xuan-Immortals? Let's see how many Xuan-Immortals he can handle," the white-robed man muttered.

"Big brother, I don't get it," the man said, confused by the white-robed man's words.

"Just do as I say," the white-robed man instructed.

He then summoned all his subordinates and gave them instructions. Meanwhile, Evan Yang was with Chase Chu.

"Chase Chu, did you memorize the cultivation techniques I passed to you yesterday?" Evan Yang asked.

"Yes, Master, I've memorized them," Chase Chu replied.

"Good. But to prevent others from stealing your memories, I'm going to seal part of your cultivation techniques so no one can extract them when you're weak," Evan Yang said after thinking for a moment.

"Seal them?" Chase Chu didn't understand.

"Yes. I'll also teach you another useful technique soon," Evan Yang said.

Whatever Evan Yang said, Chase Chu listened, so he calmly let Evan Yang do whatever needed to be done.

After finishing, Evan Yang said, "Now I'll teach you a technique called the Tyrant Seal Art. It allows you to suppress your cultivation to a lower realm, so others can't see through you."

"Suppress to a lower realm? How does that work?" Chase Chu asked, pleasantly surprised.

Evan Yang then taught Chase Chu the Tyrant Seal Art. Since Chase Chu lacked the ability for the Ever-Changing Thousandfold Strikes, he learned it slower. After Chase Chu memorized it, Evan Yang thought for a moment and then passed on the Ever-Changing Thousandfold Strikes as well.

Evan Yang said, "Alright, I've only taught you three techniques, but these three will be very beneficial for your future cultivation."

Still excited, Chase Chu exclaimed, "Thank you, Master! With these three techniques, I can become very powerful."

"I hope so," Evan Yang smiled. He knew these were all he could teach; giving Chase Chu anything more would only complicate things. After all, Evan Yang possessed the Heaven-Cold Seed, which made him different from others. Just because he could do something didn't mean others could.

Just as Chase Chu was celebrating, a voice sounded from outside: "Young master, young master."

Chase Chu was annoyed—being disturbed at this moment was a hassle. He opened the door and shouted, "Can't you see I'm cultivating?"

"Young master, bad news! Someone from the Li Family says they want to meet Senior Yang," the attendant reported.

Upon hearing this, Evan Yang showed a suspicious look. What did the Li Family want with him?

"Damn it! Those guys are here to cause trouble again! I'll go take a look!" Chase Chu said angrily.

Yang Han and Chase Chu went outside, and Hannah Nangong followed. Soon they arrived at the main hall, where Chu Xiang and others were already present.

"Brother Li, your sources are really impressive," Chu Xiang replied, a bit displeased.

"Of course. I couldn't sleep after losing yesterday, so I asked around and discovered all this. That's why I came today—first, to congratulate the Chu Family for finding such a master for your son; second, I heard this person is very skilled, and I'd like to see for myself," the white-robed man said with a smile.

"Brother Li, he is an honored guest of the Chu Family. If you intend to harm him, I won't let you get away with it!" Chu Xiang sensed something was wrong and slammed the table in anger.

The white-robed man hadn't expected Chu Xiang to react so strongly, but he pressed on, clicking his tongue and smiling, "The Chu and Li Families have been friends for years. Surely a little sparring won't cause a rift between us?"

"Li, are you threatening me?" Chu Xiang snorted coldly.

At this moment, Chase Chu rushed forward. "You're not welcome here. Leave now!"

"Oh, so you won yesterday and now you're acting tough? Kid, you're still too inexperienced. I'm not after you, but this gentleman here. You must be Yang Han, right?" the white-robed man said with a smile.

"That's me. What business do you have with me?" Evan Yang replied calmly, unafraid.

"I heard the Chu Family brought in a powerful master. I want to see for myself. They say you defeated a ninth-tier Xuan-Immortal with eighth-tier Heavenly-Immortal strength. I'm eager to see it with my own eyes," the white-robed man said shamelessly.
