Competing for Techniques

"How did such an uncivilized person get in here? I'm very disappointed in the Imperial Crown Auction House!"

Ian Song ignored Ray Bolton and instead spoke coolly to Sherry Summers on the auction stage.

Sherry Summers had already been dissatisfied with Ray Bolton's behavior—openly threatening a bidder, as if the Imperial Crown Auction House meant nothing to him. Now, hearing Ian Song's criticism, she couldn't restrain herself any longer. She said coldly, "Young Master Ray, please return to your box. If you have any complaints about our Imperial Crown Auction House, feel free to raise them after the auction. For now, please follow the auction rules!"

Hearing Sherry Summers speak up, Ray Bolton snapped back to his senses. The Thunder Family was powerful in Skyroc City, but compared to the continent-spanning Imperial Crown Auction House, they were far outclassed.

So he glared at Ian Song with venom, snarling, "Kid, I've got my eye on you. If you have any guts, don't leave the auction house. Otherwise...!"

Ian Song just smiled indifferently at Ray Bolton's threat. Even with his power sealed by the System, his escape skills were so good that not even Sun-Soul experts could catch him, so he didn't take Ray's threats seriously at all.

The other guests, however, all looked at Ian Song with strange expressions, thinking to themselves that since he'd offended Ray Bolton so badly, he probably wouldn't leave Skyroc City alive.

Especially the richly dressed youth behind Ian Song, who watched him with a gloating look, thinking, 'He really thinks a bit of cash means he can ignore Ray Bolton? He's just digging his own grave.'

"Let's continue the auction!" Sherry Summers said. "This gentleman has bid one million taels. Is there anyone willing to go higher?"

No one responded. The Eternal Grace Pill was precious, but worth at most two hundred thousand gold. Spending a million on it was pointless—better to use that money to buy a top-tier divine weapon.

"Congratulations, sir. The Eternal Grace Pill is yours!"

After announcing the winner of the Eternal Grace Pill, the third auction item was brought to the stage. Ian Song’s heart skipped a beat—it was one of tonight’s three King-Grade technique manuals.

"The Heavenly Sun Art, a complete King-Grade technique manual. Starting price: one million gold taels. Minimum increment: fifty thousand taels!"

Sherry Summers had barely finished speaking before someone couldn't help but start bidding.

"One million one hundred thousand!"

"One million two hundred thousand!"

"One million five hundred thousand!"

...

In just a short time, the price for this King-Grade technique manual had reached three million taels, and there were still plenty of bidders.

After another quarter-hour, the Heavenly Sun Art had reached a price of ten million taels.
