Want to Visit Lady Vivian Yuan

12/19/2025

With the Azure Tusk she got from her dad, Grace finally had all the ingredients she needed.

She whipped up a Qi Condensation Pill without a hitch.

After popping the pill and spending a few days holed up for some serious meditation, she leveled up to Spirit Practitioner, Fifth Rank.

When she came out, Grace asked Pan and Xi if anything juicy happened. They giggled and said the eldest son had joined the army and scored a Fourth Rank Spirit Cavalry Commander title.

A Fourth Rank Spirit Cavalry Commander—that's the same gig Kevin Zhuo has.

Landing a job like that at their age? Pretty impressive, honestly.

Looks like Evan Xiao really did listen to her request...

Grace nodded, then asked, "Any news from Aunt Wan's side?"

"Aunt Wan went to the palace the other day," Pan replied.

"To the palace, huh..." Grace mused. Maybe Aunt Wan realized she had no shot at becoming Head Wife, so she went to plot with Wendy Zhu.

"She brought back some gossip—Lady Vivian Yuan from the palace is pregnant!" Claire announced, all excited.

"Really? Lady Vivian Yuan?" Grace blinked, a little surprised.

In her last life, Wendy Zhu was the first of Colin Gu's wives to get pregnant.

She’d just assumed things would play out the same way this time around.

Of course, in her previous life, there was no Royal Selection—and no Lady Vivian Yuan either.

"Yep!" Claire whispered. "Everyone’s been walking on eggshells these past couple days. I heard the Matriarch and Aunt Wan are both in a foul mood."

Grace thought for a bit, then jumped up. "C’mon! Let’s go visit Third Aunt."

Grace headed off to find her Third Aunt, Mrs. Yuan.

Her second uncle’s house was on the left side of the Prime Minister’s Residence.

Her third uncle’s house was on the right side of the Prime Minister’s Residence.

After Grace announced her visit, Mrs. Yuan let her in.

Mrs. Yuan was the quiet type—never competing, never showing off. In Grace’s memories from her past life, she was practically invisible.

If Grace hadn’t been reborn and seen her again, she wouldn’t even remember what Mrs. Yuan looked like.

"Grace, it’s rare for you to drop by Third Aunt’s place. You must have a reason, right?" Mrs. Yuan smiled once they were seated.

Grace nodded. "I heard Lady Vivian Yuan is pregnant. Is Third Aunt planning to visit the palace?"

Lady Vivian Yuan was also the legitimate daughter of one of the Four Great Houses—Mrs. Yuan’s own niece, and Sam Yuan’s cousin.

Mrs. Yuan nodded. "Yep, I’ve already sent in my request. Just waiting on Empress Wendy’s approval."

"Third Aunt, could you take me with you when you go? I’d love to see Lady Vivian Yuan too."

"You?" Mrs. Yuan looked genuinely surprised. "If I remember right, you haven’t met her much, have you?"

"That’s true," Grace said. "But Sam is always talking about his cousin—smart, gorgeous, and super caring. So I thought I’d take this chance to congratulate her."

Mrs. Yuan raised her brows. "Grace, didn’t you say you didn’t want to enter the palace? I heard Emperor Henry wanted you to be his Imperial Noble Consort, and you turned him down?"

"Please don’t get the wrong idea, Third Aunt. I’m not up to anything," Grace replied. "I really just want to congratulate her."

Mrs. Yuan couldn’t figure out Grace’s angle, but she couldn’t say no either. She nodded, "Alright then, you can come to the palace with me!"

Grace flashed a smile.

Of course, she had her own agenda for going to the palace.

She needed to meet Imperial Concubine Lillian Lee.

Then she’d have to figure out a way for Colin Gu to favor her—only then would the Imperial Advisor help Maya Summers break the curse.

...

After heading home, Grace found her dad and sweetly told him she wanted to bring some gifts to the palace with Third Aunt to congratulate Lady Vivian Yuan.

First, it would show the proper etiquette of the Prime Minister’s Residence; second, Third Aunt would be thrilled to see how much they valued her side of the family.
