"This is just too terrifying." Hearing the agency's methods of detection and prediction, Sean Shen was dumbfounded, and Bald Lee was equally stunned.
"So just relax. We'll wait here—at most a few days and we'll have news." Elder Simon Spring said.
Sean Shen and Bald Lee nodded, so the three of them waited here. As for the information Elder Simon Spring provided, it was soon delivered to a sealed room. In that room sat three people, all with white beards, and besides that, they were all floating cross-legged in midair about a meter above the ground.
The information reached one person's hand. That person opened his eyes and said, "Here comes another one. Let's begin."
"Alright." The other two replied.
So the one holding the information took out a cylindrical pillar—so large that it would take several people to encircle it. He then inputted Evan Yang's portrait and aura into it.
Then all three closed their eyes tightly and began chanting a string of unknown words.
After a while, they saw Evan Yang as described in the information, but noticed that his appearance and aura had both changed.
The three opened their eyes, glanced at each other, and the leader said, "Looks like he's disguised himself, and even changed his aura."
"Yeah, but fortunately, we can still predict his future. Let's continue." one of them said.
At first, they thought their abilities had failed, but after many attempts, they still couldn't see through.
"What is this kid's background? Why can we only see his current situation, but not his past or future?" the leader asked, puzzled.
"Could he really be someone who can't be detected or predicted?" another asked, astonished.
"Is it really possible?" the third person exclaimed.
The leader was moved. "Looks like it's true. I never thought we'd actually find someone like this—it's wonderful."
"So what do we do now?" the second person asked.
"Unfortunately, the three of us can't leave this place—we can only detect and predict from here," the leader explained.
"Let the other elders go out and bring him here," the third person suggested.
"Yes, let's do that. We should inform them, after all, it's our duty," the leader said after thinking for a moment.
The other two nodded in agreement.
Elder Simon Spring had no idea what was going on, until a middle-aged man appeared. His attire was strict, and upon seeing the three, he said, "The person you want to investigate has been found."
"Oh? Where?" Elder Simon Spring asked excitedly.
"I'll take you there," the man said.
Elder Simon Spring frowned; he hadn't heard of anyone acting as a guide in this place.
Seeing Elder Simon Spring's expression, the man explained, "I am the disciple of the Immortal Oracle Agency's Grand Elder. I'm just about to go out for some training, and they've already told me where that person is. Also, he's disguised himself—his appearance and aura have changed. You wouldn't be able to recognize him."
"Disguised? Changed appearance and aura?" Elder Simon Spring said in disbelief.
"That's right, so I'm here to guide you," said the disciple of the Grand Elder.
"Alright, thank you for your trouble," Elder Simon Spring said after thinking it over. The man nodded, and the four set out, though he was cold and not talkative.
The three didn't try to make conversation. Elder Simon Spring just wanted to find Evan Yang's whereabouts quickly and get things done.
On the road, Sean Shen couldn't help but send a voice transmission, "Sect Master Spring, is this wooden man really leading the way?"
"That's right. If anything comes up, just find us at our base. I just came by to say hello—now I'm heading back to rest," Terry Yang said with a smile.
"Alright," Nangong Palace Lord replied with a smile.
Terry Yang smiled, then left with his group.
Once outside, Terry Yang asked someone, "How's that task going?"
"Don't worry, Lord Terry—the prey won't escape our grasp," the person replied.
"Good. Since we're here and have some free time, I want you to keep an eye out for prey—bring them all to my room. Remember, don't let other families or sects find out, or you'll bear the consequences," Terry Yang said.
"Rest assured, Lord Terry. We'll be careful," the person replied.
"Alright, I'm going to rest now. I'll leave the rest to you—I hope to see results tonight," Terry Yang said.
"Alright," the group replied, then left one by one. Evan Yang, hidden in the shadows, followed Terry Yang. He couldn't hear what they were saying, but knew they must be up to something secret.
Besides, Evan Yang wanted to ask about the whereabouts of Blaze Mountain, so he kept following Terry Yang, planning to find a chance to ask.
Soon, Evan Yang followed Terry Yang to a house where many experts and attendants were gathered—even some guards.
"Lord Terry." As Terry Yang entered, everyone greeted him respectfully.
Terry Yang nodded. "Tonight, go out and wander around—come back when it's time," he said.
Everyone followed Terry Yang's instructions without question.
Evan Yang wondered what Terry Yang was planning for tonight.
So Evan Yang waited until evening. When night came, the attendants and experts left the house, leaving Terry Yang alone.
Isn't he afraid of being assassinated?' Evan Yang muttered, seeing that not a single guard was left.
After everyone left, Terry Yang entered a room. It was empty except for mirrors covering the walls.
The mirrors looked strange, even seemed to focus light. Terry Yang stood in the center, waved his hand, and a ball of fire appeared. The flames spread, and the focused light converged on Terry Yang.
Practicing?' Evan Yang wondered, seeing the light absorbed by Terry Yang. He was amazed at Terry Yang's strength—he wasn't ready to face him yet.
But midway, Terry Yang stopped, his face darkening. "Stuck again. Looks like I need some yin-type things, or I can't continue," he said.
Evan Yang didn't understand what Terry Yang meant, but soon saw that as Terry Yang continued practicing, his face turned bright red, as if his blood was about to burst.
This made Terry Yang stop again. "Damn it, why aren't those people back yet?" he complained.
Evan Yang realized Terry Yang was talking about the people sent out from Ethereal Sanctuary earlier.
Anxious, Terry Yang stopped practicing and paced around the hall. After a while, four people returned. Terry Yang saw them and scolded, "Why are you so late?"
"The prey was cunning—it took us quite some time to catch them," one replied.
"Were they really that strong?" Terry Yang asked curiously.
"Yes, Immortal Lord level," the person replied.
"Immortal Lord? That's excellent. Take the prey to my training room, and keep watch around the house—don't let anyone get close," Terry Yang said upon hearing the prey's realm.
The group acknowledged and carried out Terry Yang's instructions, preparing to bring the prey to his training room and guard the area.
Evan Yang watched from the shadows, realizing that the Yang Family's young master was using Immortal Lord cultivators as resources for some secret technique inside Ethereal Sanctuary.
At the same time, Elder Simon Spring and the Immortal Oracle Agency's disciple were closing in, guided by powers able to pierce nearly all disguises—yet unable to read the past or future of Evan Yang, the reincarnated Pure Yang Immortal Sovereign.
Just as the Territory War Contest approached, multiple nets tightened around Evan: the Yang Family arrived as a key ally to Ethereal Sanctuary, hiding a dark secret; the Immortal Oracle Agency had identified Evan as an unprecedented anomaly and was trying to draw him in; Elder Simon Spring was using their services to hunt him; and Nangong Palace Lord and other major powers were preparing to ally with Shadow Soul Sect and the Li Family to eliminate him.
Evan’s road of growth continued under ever-mounting pressure, tempering his cultivation, deepening his sword-dao, and pushing him step by step toward the Profound-Immortal Realm and the greater cosmic calamity looming over the Immortal Realm.
