Journey to the Capital City

1/4/2026

Even though Cecilia Gu rejected Max Mo, he still couldn't bear to hurt her in the slightest.

Max Mo knew that if he told his family the truth, it would surely affect the relationship between the Mo and Yun families.

So once again, Max Mo took all the responsibility upon himself.

He would rather let his own family blame him, than let anyone criticize Cecilia Gu.

Love is the most painful thing of all.

But it's also the most enchanting.

Max Mo took all responsibility upon himself, not wanting anyone to have even a slightly negative impression of Cecilia Gu because of this.

Even if one day Cecilia Gu stabbed him with a knife, he'd still smile and tell everyone it was his own fault, that it had nothing to do with her.

In this world, Charles Yin isn't the only one who loves Cecilia Gu so deeply.

Max Mo's feelings aren't any less intense.

But love is never fair. Just because he was one step behind Charles Yin, he has to watch as Cecilia Gu's whole life slips away from him.

Max Mo has thought more than once: If only he'd met Cecilia Gu before Charles Yin did, would things have turned out differently?

But a missed chance is still a miss.

Time is the most unreasonable thing, and it never allows regret.

Just because he was a step slower than Charles Yin, he missed out on everything.

He really couldn't accept it.

But he couldn't bring himself to use his power or schemes to force Cecilia Gu to give in.

He couldn't do it. He was unwilling in every fiber of his being.

Even if Cecilia Gu said she wanted to die, he'd lose control.

So what about everything else?

Max Mo’s assistant paused for a moment. "Yes, Mr. Mo."

As an assistant, he could see things more clearly than anyone.

His boss was perfect in every way—except when it came to love. Once he set his heart on a Yun Family daughter, nothing could change his mind.

At first it was the eldest, Nora Yun. Now it’s the second daughter, Yun Xi.

The Yun Family daughters were wonderful, but it’s not like they were the only good women in the world.

But the boss was stubborn about this. No other woman could catch his eye.

And now, even though it was clearly the Yun Family daughter’s fault, the boss still insisted on taking the blame himself.

Every time Mrs. Mo scolded the boss, as his assistant, he always wanted to explain everything to her!

But the boss wouldn’t let him!

Every single time, the boss took all the blame and never said a single bad word about Cecilia Gu.

Sigh, the boss is so devoted—what are they supposed to do?

After Cecilia Gu and Max Mo had their falling out, both of them made a point to avoid each other.

They didn’t contact each other at all—not until it was time to head to Capital City.

As Chairwoman of Saint Diana Academy, Cecilia Gu led the student representatives and several professors, bringing along Jiro Hirayama, and took the academy’s private jet straight to Capital City.

That’s one of the perks of Saint Diana Academy!

Capital City has its own private airport, so they didn’t have to squeeze in with the crowds—they landed right at their own terminal!

It’s just a two-hour flight from Newport City to Capital City.

On the plane, when Jiro Hirayama learned that Mr. Yun’s skills at Go were way beyond Cecilia Gu’s, he switched targets and started pestering Mr. Yun to play.

At first, Mr. Yun just played a couple of games with Jiro Hirayama to pass the time.

But when Mr. Yun realized Jiro Hirayama was relying on his powerful memory and logic to play, he got interested and played seriously for two whole hours.
