Faye Knox

The appearance of dense ghost-qi on a Human was something the Netherkin girl found utterly unbelievable. This was the first time she had ever encountered such a situation. But right now, the boy lay motionless, his horrifying wounds suggesting he was most likely already dead.

The questions in her heart could no longer be answered. And just as this boy had said, her future husband must be a Human with a Pure Yang Constitution—finding one like that would be nearly impossible.

"You dead man, why aren't you fighting back? Are you playing dead because you feel guilty? If you die, where am I supposed to find a Pure Yang Constitution man? If you die, how am I supposed to get my answers? Get up!" The girl stormed over to Evan Chu's side, shouting angrily as she kicked him several times, but he didn't react at all.

The girl examined Evan Chu's wounds carefully, trying to confirm if he was truly dead. But when she lifted his body, Evan suddenly opened his eyes, and at the same time, felt something soft and a little damp touching his lips.

In an instant, she saw a pair of bright eyes appear right in front of her. Realizing what had just touched his lips, Evan blushed, while a mix of embarrassment and being toyed with flashed across the girl's face. She immediately struck at Evan with her palm.

But Evan had already noticed her movement. The moment she raised her hand, he flickered and dodged her attack, instantly appearing ten meters away, quietly watching her.

Now the girl was truly furious. In the Netherkin clan, her status was incredibly noble, yet she'd been kissed on the lips by a complete stranger—this was her first kiss! Her body had been seen, her first kiss stolen, and if she didn't kill him, she really couldn't bear to live in this world.

She glanced at Evan Chu and saw that the boy's body was rapidly healing. The bone-deep wounds closed up in an instant—such a terrifying recovery speed was something she'd never seen before, and she began to grow wary of him.

"Heh, you should have calmed down by now, right? I took your sword head-on and nearly lost my life. Can I leave now?" Evan Chu laughed, his eyes watching her expression closely.

"Leave? We'll talk after you leave your worthless life behind! You did something so filthy and now you want to just walk away? There's no way the world is that cheap. My chastity isn't something you can ruin—only your fresh blood can wash it clean!" the girl spat viciously.

But when she mentioned blood, something struck her. "Why is your blood pale gold? Human blood is supposed to be red, isn't it? What exactly are you, and why are you here among the Ghost Clan? Also, what's the deal with all this ghost-qi on you?"

"Heh, beautiful lady, aren't you being a bit much? You just hit me with a whole barrage of questions—how am I supposed to answer all that? Even if I wanted to, you'd have to show a little sincerity first, right? What's your name, and why did you come to the Ghost Clan to join this competition?" Evan Chu shot back, refusing to answer and instead questioning her.

The girl glared at Evan Chu, saying, "If I tell you, will you also tell me your story—and where to find that Pure Yang Constitution man you mentioned?"

"Haha, you're definitely a girl just learning about love. Here you are, standing in front of a man and already thinking about another man. But I've seen your body and even kissed you—if you have to choose, shouldn't you pick me? How can you be so unfair?" Evan Chu laughed.

"So you're not planning to talk? Fine, let's see whose defense is tougher—yours or my sword art!" the girl declared, black sword-qi flashing on her longsword.

"Hey, do you have to be so violent? A beautiful woman should be gentle if she wants men to like her. If you act like a raging mother dragon, who'd dare fall for you? How about this—I'll tell you my name if you tell me yours. I'm Lin Feng. You can call me Brother Feng, Little Feng, or even husband if you like," Evan Chu joked.

"Lin Feng? What a terrible name. And you want me to call you husband? You're really testing my patience!" the girl snapped, swinging her longsword and sending a wave of black sword-qi hurtling toward Evan Chu.

But as she unleashed that sword strike, Evan Chu instantly used his movement art to teleport away, appearing behind the girl with such speed that even she was startled. She couldn't match that speed herself, and grew even more cautious of him.

A bottomless fissure instantly split open on the ground, stretching for dozens of meters. Dust billowed into the air from the sword's force, and the thick smoke made it impossible to see far.

"Hey, I told you my name, so you should tell me yours. How can you go back on your word?" Evan Chu said, standing behind her.

"Faye Knox. That's my name. If you swear never to tell anyone about what happened today, I'll spare your life. Otherwise, it's death between us," the Netherkin girl said coldly.

"Faye Knox? Faye, that's a good name. I mean, Faye, my dear wife, why do you have to be so fierce? I've already told you, women should be gentle. You really need to work on that temper. Anyway, I'm not going to say anything more—today's events stay between us. I've got other things to do, so I'll be on my way. Goodbye!" Evan Chu said, flickering into the air.

"Don't go—you still haven't answered my questions!" Faye Knox called out urgently.

"Heh, I've already called you my wife—how can you still not get it? Think it over! Anyone who knows about your physique must be someone truly special. We'll meet again, my dear wife!" Evan Chu laughed, then vanished with instant movement.

Faye Knox didn't chase after him. She knew that the boy's speed was the same instant movement technique her father and his peers had mastered—there was no way she could catch up. For someone so young to wield such a skill was truly incredible.

As she replayed Evan Chu's words in her mind, something suddenly clicked. "Could he be the Pure Yang Constitution man? Otherwise, how would he know about my physique? How could I be so stupid... That scoundrel, how dare he toy with me! One day, I'll make him pay for this."

Even if you are the Pure Yang Constitution, so what? The dignity of a Netherkin princess cannot be violated. Just you wait! Looks like things are about to get lively in the Ghost Clan this time!"

After several instant movements, Evan Chu appeared a thousand miles away. "Lin Feng, why did you just leave? It seems you still have unfinished business!" Luna, the sword spirit, spoke up.

"If I didn't leave, she'd have killed me. I don't want to get tangled up with her right now. Knowing her name is good enough—anything else can wait. By the way, what did I forget to do?" Evan Chu asked.

"That girl is incredibly strong. Shouldn't you have asked her if she has any Netherghost Violet Orchid? You're such an idiot!" Luna scolded.

Evan Chu's face darkened. "No way, I need to go back and ask her!" With that, he flickered and sped back the way he came...
