Courtship Dance

1/4/2026

The young men immediately blushed and said, "You don't have to dance. Just stand here—we'll dance for you!"

Cecilia Gu heard this and cooperatively stood in the center, watching as the young men danced around her.

Rona Muir had already been feeling uneasy. When she saw Cecilia step up, she took the opportunity to leave and sat down to rest at her previous spot.

Sophie Mo also stepped aside, watching Cecilia dance with the group of young men.

Max Mo walked over from another bonfire. Seeing Cecilia pulled into the dance circle, he couldn't help but smile.

Looks like someone is going to be jealous tonight...

Cecilia Gu had no idea what dance they were doing, but the young men grew more and more enthusiastic. Their energy was infectious, and she gradually started spinning along with their steps.

Each of the young men was strong and imposing, but as they danced around Cecilia, they were all careful, making sure not to bump or hurt her.

Cecilia could feel how cautious the young men were, which made her even happier to join in.

Charles Yin rushed off to find Sean Kerr, but when he got to the car, he didn't see Sean—instead, he found Sylvia Ran waiting there in a very revealing outfit.

"Charles... I really know I was wrong." Sylvia Ran suddenly pulled her clothes open, letting the skimpy outfit slip to the floor and revealing her stunning figure.

Sylvia was very confident about her body.

She’d been getting plastic surgery for this very moment.

She believed that once Charles saw her perfect body, he wouldn’t be able to resist.

Charles never expected that when he got in the RV, instead of the wine Sean Kerr had prepared, he’d find Sylvia throwing herself at him.

At that moment, he felt a little disappointed in Sean.

Sylvia stepped forward and hugged Charles, rubbing her face against his chest.

She could hear Charles’s heartbeat, but the quickening she expected didn’t happen.

How was that possible?

She was standing naked in front of him—how could he possibly resist?

Cecilia Gu is pregnant now, so she can't do those things with him. Isn't he frustrated?

She was already being this forward—wasn’t it enough?

Sylvia immediately rose up on tiptoe, trying to kiss Charles.

Her carefully made-up face was as delicate as a flower, lips parted slightly, looking completely ready for him.

"Charles, tonight I'm yours. No matter what you do to me, I won't regret it!" Sylvia leaned in closer, her lips almost touching Charles's tightly pressed mouth.

Determination flashed in Sylvia's eyes—she was set on getting what she wanted.

As long as she did this with Charles, Cecilia Gu would become insignificant!

The closer Sylvia got, the more impatient Charles became.

Just as Sylvia was about to kiss him, Charles suddenly reached out and pressed a finger to her lips.

Sylvia was stunned.

What did he mean by that?

"Are you done playing?" Charles’s voice was as cold as ice. "If you’re done, put your clothes back on. The weather’s warm, but it’s still late autumn. If you catch a cold, I won’t be able to explain it to anyone!"

Sylvia’s body trembled slightly.

"What did you say? You don’t want me?" Sylvia stared at Charles in disbelief. "I don’t believe it! I’m perfect—why would you reject me? I’m not trying to cling to you, I just want to give you my most precious first time. Charles, why are you treating me like this?"

Charles shoved Sylvia aside, grabbed the tablecloth from the table, and flung it over her, his gaze icy cold.

Any affection they once had was destroyed in that moment.

"Leave. From now on, don’t ever show up in front of me again," Charles said, emotionless. "I’ve forgotten everything about our past! You don’t need to bring it up, because the Charles who loved you died six years ago. The man standing before you now isn’t the Charles you used to know!"

Charles’s words stabbed into Sylvia’s heart like a knife, leaving her pale and shaken.

Without another moment’s hesitation, Charles turned and left, not sparing Sylvia a single glance.

As soon as he got out of the car, Charles saw Sean Kerr standing outside.

Sean Kerr stared at Charles, trying to explain, "I didn’t know she would do something like that..."

"Sean, I misjudged you." Charles threw out the words and walked away.

Sean was left standing there, stunned.

He didn’t understand—what had he done wrong?

After all these years as brothers, was it really over just like that?

At that moment, the sound of Sylvia’s muffled sobbing came from the car. Sean felt a pang of sympathy and got in, only to find Sylvia still undressed, wrapped in the tablecloth and crying on the floor.

Sean sighed and gently pulled Sylvia into his arms, trying to comfort her.

Just then, Rona Muir’s icy voice came from the doorway: "Sorry to interrupt, boss. You two carry on!"

Sean jerked his head up, meeting Rona’s cold, piercing gaze.

Sean looked down and instantly realized Rona must have misunderstood!

Sean was about to explain, but Sylvia cried even louder in his arms.

Rona Muir turned and walked away. Sean wanted to chase after her to explain, but Sylvia clung tightly to his arm, refusing to let him go.

All he could do was watch anxiously as Rona’s figure faded into the distance...

Sylvia acted as if she hadn’t noticed Sean’s anxiety, still clinging to him and crying without restraint.

Charles strode back to the bonfire party.

Just then, some villagers from another bonfire pulled Cecilia Gu over to dance with them.

Four young men lifted Cecilia up, followed by a crowd of singing and dancing teenagers.

Charles’s expression instantly turned cold.

He knew what this dance was.

Among the ethnic minorities, this dance was meant as a courtship ritual.

One particularly strong and handsome young man was dancing around Cecilia, making the crowd cheer and scream.

Cecilia was clueless about what kind of dance it was, just thinking it looked great and was fun to watch.

Plus, the guy was pretty good-looking!

Hmm, maybe she could introduce him to Rona!

So Cecilia happily joined in, keeping up with the rhythm and interacting with him.

Cecilia, you big dummy!

Max Mo glanced sideways with his blue eyes. Just as he expected, Charles’s face was as dark as the bottom of a pot.

Heh, he’d seen this coming a mile away.

Although Charles wanted to take Cecilia away right then, seeing how happy she was, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

Cecilia was genuinely having the time of her life.

After all the crying that afternoon, Cecilia finally felt herself coming back to life.

Charles realized this too, so even though he looked furious, he didn’t stop her.

After the dance, Cecilia felt a little tired and stepped aside to sit next to Rona.

Seeing Rona spacing out, Cecilia nudged her. "What’s wrong?"

Rona jumped as if startled, glanced at Cecilia, and after a moment finally replied softly, "It's nothing. Here, this is done roasting."

Cecilia didn’t think much of it. She took the roasted lamb leg Rona handed her and happily started eating.

They say pregnant women have good appetites, and it’s really true.

Cecilia ate an entire lamb leg, and only then did she notice something was off about Rona.

Just a moment ago, Rona was the happiest one here, having the most fun of all.

But now, she was the most distracted person at the party.

"Rona, what’s really going on?" Cecilia couldn’t help but ask. "Did something happen?"

Rona lowered her head and thought for a long time before answering, "Cecilia, did I do something wrong?"

Cecilia put down the lamb leg, took a wet wipe from her assistant, cleaned her fingers, and then asked, "Tell me about it."

"Honestly, I get annoyed with the boss. He’s always nagging me, telling me what to do and what not to do, interfering with my dates. I should be sick of him, right? I should want him to get a girlfriend and stay far away from me, right? But... why did it hurt so much when I saw him with another woman just now?" Rona looked at Cecilia in confusion. "Am I just being selfish?"

Cecilia was stunned—love is selfish by nature!

"Just now, I saw Sean holding a woman who wasn’t wearing any clothes. They looked so close. The worst part is, his RV... I used to be the only one who ever went there, but now there’s another woman. Am I..." Rona scratched her head in frustration and continued, "Forget it, never mind. I must be crazy. I should go buy some fireworks to celebrate—boss finally has a woman, and I’m finally free."

When Sylvia was crying in Sean’s arms, Rona hadn’t even seen her face clearly.

Rona never expected Sylvia would stoop so low, stripping naked in front of a man.

At the time, Rona hadn’t expected to see that scene at all. She panicked and turned away, not even seeing who Sean was holding.

So she simply assumed Sean had found another woman.
