Battle Against a Demigod

1/19/2026

Evan Chu’s transformation into the Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon stunned everyone. No one expected this young man to possess such a supreme bloodline—this was the legendary ancestor dragon, seen only in the primordial era.

That such a being would appear here was almost unbelievable. For the Roc King, Evan’s ancestral dragon bloodline exerted immense pressure—just its aura alone suppressed his strength by at least thirty percent.

Yet he abandoned his dragon form and chose to fight in human shape—a move everyone thought was sheer madness. The crowd saw it as arrogance beyond reason; why forsake your strongest form for the weakest? No one understood his thinking.

Even the Golden Dragon King found it strange—Evan Chu might be a Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon, but his cultivation was far too low. Choosing to fight as a human seemed like asking for humiliation. The king couldn’t help but worry for him.

The Roc King’s face lit up with smug delight. Evan’s choice was courting death—if he could slay a Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon today, his name would echo through history. This would be the pride of the entire Golden-Winged Roc Clan.

Without another word, the Roc King also changed into human form, still appearing as an elder. Now, however, he held a weapon—a golden longsword, forged not from metal but from tens of thousands of Roc feathers: the legendary Roc Feather Sword.

The Roc Feather Sword was both flexible and resilient—its power amplified with every swing. It was an exceptional weapon, at least top-grade Immortal artifact, rivaling even Saint-grade treasures.

"Kid, you’re the most arrogant person I’ve ever met—but you’ve got the right to be. As a Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon, you’d better not be a coward. If you fall, don’t blame me for bullying the weak," the Roc King sneered.

"Old man, you sure talk a lot. Show me what you’ve got! If the Golden-Winged Roc Clan is willing to submit to my Dragon Clan, maybe I’ll spare you. Otherwise, I might not be able to hold back and end up killing you," Evan Chu replied coldly.

"Dream on! My Roc Clan will never bow to the Dragon Clan. You may be a Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon, but you’re only at early Immortal Emperor realm. Killing you will be as easy as turning my hand," the Roc King spat, his face darkening with fury.

If you weren’t so arrogant, you might have lived a few more years—maybe even become the true ruler among Immortal Beasts. But your pride will be your downfall. You think being a Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon makes you invincible? Today, I’ll destroy you and make the Roc Clan famous throughout the world!

I was going to let you off, but now you want to kill me? Fine, I won’t hold back—old man, you’re dead today! Evan’s face darkened with rage as the Frostbane Divine Sword appeared in his hand.

With a thought, Evan unleashed Star-Cleave, sending a wave of sword-qi roaring toward his opponent. The space trembled violently, and the crowd was stunned by the sheer force of his attack.

The Roc King, a demigod-level powerhouse, didn’t even flinch at Evan’s strike. He swung the Roc Feather Sword, unleashing a powerful golden sword-qi that collided with Evan’s Star-Cleave.

Boom! A deafening explosion echoed in the air as waves of energy blasted outward. Both Evan and the Roc King were sent flying hundreds of meters before regaining their footing.

The exchange ended in a stalemate—neither side gaining the upper hand. Evan had used Star-Cleave to test his opponent’s strength, and now he had his answer: strong. Very strong.

The Roc King was secretly shocked—he’d attacked with eighty percent of his strength, and while it wasn’t his strongest technique, most late-stage Immortal Emperors would have been crushed by it.

Yet Evan resisted the attack completely, unharmed. The Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon truly lived up to its legend—his defense was utterly monstrous.

Is that all you’ve got, old man? I only used sixty percent of my power. Looks like the so-called demigod realm and your Roc Clan aren’t much to brag about," Evan Chu laughed, seeing the Roc King’s startled face.

Kid, it’s fine to be arrogant, but don’t go overboard. Since you’re so tough, today I’ll show you my true power!" the Roc King roared.

With a sweeping gesture, the Roc King unleashed a powerful spatial domain. Evan instantly felt crushing pressure—this demigod’s space domain was far more intense than any he’d faced before.

If he hadn’t reached the early Immortal Emperor realm, this pressure might have forced him to his knees. Now, he could barely withstand it—though it took real effort.

Evan sent out his divine sense, probing the mysterious space domain. Having mastered all nine elements, he didn’t fear spatial domains. He soon sensed the gold element and quickly established resonance.

The pressure eased, but Evan didn’t realize that domains beyond the nine elements existed—like the time domain wielded by Sean Xiao in the lower realm.

If a true powerhouse used the time domain against him, the consequences would be dire. Among all domains, the Chaos Domain reigns supreme—mastery requires understanding all nine elements and space domains.

Few, if any, have ever mastered all nine domains—doing so is nearly impossible. Only after complete mastery can one fuse them into a single Chaos Domain.

Evan still felt some pressure—he realized the Roc King had another domain: the wind domain.

Besides the powerful gold element, the wind element was also present. Evan quickly established resonance and the pressure vanished—though sweat drenched his face.

A demigod’s spatial domain was no joke. The Roc King was shocked that Evan could last so long inside it—something he thought impossible.

The Roc King was actually at the true Divine realm, not just demigod. He hadn’t ascended because of a special artifact, but still couldn’t defeat Evan—making him wonder if his strength was slipping.
